Dear all,

I have decided to do today something I should have done a long time ago: stop the voting system on TopRPSites.

This system was initially intended to launch the site and bring in the first users in the first months... and we never stopped it. It’s clear that it now brings in almost no new users, while asking for a lot of money.

Meanwhile, we ourselves are contributing to generating a lot of visits and revenue for it. Furthermore, this system had become increasingly difficult to maintain due to the anti-ad-blocking measures it implemented.

Why should I fight to force you all to view ads on another site every day, when Hogwarts.io itself is ad-free and free?

Moreover, the extension would inexplicably crash with every server change (like it has since Sunday), and I had the hardest time getting it running again.

There are ideas for finding other ways to earn points. In the meantime, I hope you understand the reasons that led me to this decision!

Thank you for the update, Zach! I never minded the voting until I was asked to drop my ad blocker. I am happy to not have to deal with that headache any longer. I look forward to the new implementation on how to obtain House points, whatever that may be.
