xxxIf this theme was chosen for their cabin, once they entered, people would find themselves looking at a beautiful mirage outside the window of turquoise water, a coral reef in the distance, and tropical fish surrounding them. This underwater view would be based on the coral reefs of the West Pacific. The windows were large from ceiling to floor, opening out to a beautiful image of an underwater landscape. The windows would be the walls to the living room and in the center of the living room there would the refractions of light through the water would glitter on a beautiful cashmere carpet that was the color of peach coral. A large couch would be on top of the carpet, with pillows of white and peach. One could stare right through the windows to see the beautiful underwater scene, though it was not real. And, if students and others found themselves bored, there would be a bookcase filled with as one can guess, books of any kind. In the living room, there would be various places to sit as well as a glass table where students could eat or study, play cardgames, or perhaps even gobstones. Each of the bedrooms would have wooden ceilings, reminiscent of a wooden ship's deck. Hanging from it were beautiful laces of white, hanging from decorations resembling different underwater plants, seaweed, anenomes, flowers, etc. The beds would have sea shell shaped pillows and baby turquoise coloured blankets. The carpet on the floor would resemble the sea floor and each member of the cabin would have their own treasure chest, though it was only for their clothes and belongings for the week they were here. For light, this cabin would have many candle holders made of glass with models of sea shells and starfish.

Soon to be sharing a cabin with Simon Kincaid, @AngelFyre McCubbin, and Stephen Schwartz
Miles didn't understand the muggle world. Such a sad existence it must be to lack magic in one's life. With the help of progress - which they called science, apparently - some had created inventions to help them with their struggle through life. Everything was more difficult and everything took more time, from washing their clothes, cleaning up a room, or getting from one place to another.
But what muggles did seem to have down was the art of camping. Miles loved being amongst the Great Outdoors with nothing but a tent, a sleeping bag, and the stars. There was something about being near nature that made him feel complete. It was as if the world spoke to those who listened and he listened with the intensity of a thousand souls.
Any time Ilvermony visited another wizarding school or held a joint junction with them, there was a hope for camping - the words "summer camp" and "camgrounds" and "cabins" were often used. By now, at his Fifth Year at Ilvermorny, Miles knew no longer to expect that connection with nature that muggle camping yielded to but rather the wizarding world's glorification of ....well, whatever it was they did. It was even beyond glamping.
There was a glimmer of regularity when signing up for the February trip to Beauxbaton's Academy of Magic when Miles saw that here was a one option themed Cottage Comfort where rain seemed to fall outside the cabin in a delightful forest setting - lush green, tall trees, rolling fog, and little forest critters. That was precisely the one that Miles was going to sign up for.
Until he saw that Stephen Schwartz had signed up for the Underwater Paradise theme. Miles had stood in line right behind him and watched him script out his sign up sheet in that amazing handwriting of his, hunched over just enough to aceentuate his broad shoulders and his head down, his hair falling perfectly in place regardless. When he straightened, he turned his beautiful blue eyes and gave a smile that solidified his decision. What Cottage Comfort?
Paradise.
Yes, he would go to Paradise and hopefully get there with Stephen.
Miles stood next in line, taking one of the sign up forms and began to fill it out and wondered when it exactly had come to this point. Two school dances ago he had danced with a rather unexpected dancing partner - a male. All his prior attempts at romantic relationships had been of the female gender but that one dance had grabbed his attention - it had grabbed his attention and never let go. Whoever this mystery dance partner of his opened his eyes to a realization that he didn't want any more attempts at a romantic relationship of the female gender. No, his attractions lay elsewhere.
And with that aspiring star boy of a best friend. It first hit before he realized it, the very next time he saw his friend after that mysterious dance. It hit him and it hadn't let go - only growing with the intensity of a thousand suns.
Maybe nothing would come of it, but perhaps he'd get to spend the duration of the days around Valentine's Day in paradise with the one who held his affections.
And the stars aligned for him. Miles found himself entering into the cabin on the Beauxbaton's grounds marked "Siren's Keep." He had been the first one there, so he had first dibs of his bunk but that hadn't been his first priority. There he stood, surrounded by an awe inspiring view of an underwater landscape with light cascading down in various areas as if refracted through water, creating glimmering sparkles. He took it all in before claiming his spot for the week - the bed second from the furthest from the door.
He wasn't sure else who would be sharing the cabin with them, but he was pretty sure that Stephen would want to take the back bed. Miles took out his jacket and laid it over that bed to reserve it, then put his satchel on the one he claimed before heading over to take a look at the bookshelf and pull any that were about nature or magical plants.
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)
