Headmistress Aiko had asked if she could show around a new transfer student from France (permission OOC granted to allow this), who would be beginning at Mahoutokoro from February onwards, and Chiaki was more than happy to help. She was happy to represent her school in this way, and curious to meet this new individual, alongside as why they had decided to transfer to Japan. It was a long way from France, after all, so the decision could have been no easy feat. She also had to be prepared for the potential culture difference that this student might bring with them - she had lost contact with an old friend from Beauxbatons, but she knew there was some differences between the French school and her own.
She also wasn't fully sure who she was waiting for - she'd been informed the new student's name was Jamie, but aside from that, there was little else she knew. Though, there had been faint rumours that she had heard of Mahoutokoro's prowess on the quidditch field during the previous summer camp, and that had been of some influence. This was a relief for Chiaki, who was actively looking for someone to relieve her of her current position as a second-string beater for the team - she hadn't even been allowed the chance to play with her teammates in the last game. She longed to return to her much loved broom racing - especially with talk that Shimizu-san may also be joining the team.
As the sound of footsteps grew louder, Chiaki pushed the hair out of her face, preparing to greet the newcomer.Chiaki's Calming Presence is active.

Thoughts
The cold air was just on the tolerable side as Jamie made her way up to her new school. The beauty of the surroundings only having distracted her ever so slightly at the beginning, Jamie knew that she would have enough time to admire the beauty around her later and was just focussed on making her way to the imposing gates she could see before her, as she knew she wasn't late but would rather be even more on time than be seen letting the student she could see wait for her arrival.
As she approached the gates she tried to make a quick judgement on her now fellow student standing before her, wrapped in warm clothes to combat the cold, and all she could gather at the moment was that she seemed happy enough to guide another student through the school. Which unfortunately didn't give Jamie much to work with, and thus she'd just resort to her standard tactic of being polite and working from there.
Jamie had of course done her research before coming to Mahoutokoro, both on the school itself and the Japanese culture so that she wouldn't make a fool of herself, she'd never let herself do that. And she had found out that they are very academic orientated which Jamie appreciated, knowing that they also had different coloured robes to indicate what someone’s academic standing was would also help her a lot in picking out who her best bets would be if she needed something. Jamie had also heard of their prowess on the Quidditch field which she was eager to learn more about and was determined to get a spot on the team, maybe this time she'd actually have a good team for the summer games.
Approaching the student at the gate, she seemed like an older year, Jamie bowed respectfully, another thing she had picked up in her studies and that her parents had been drilling into her, if she was going to be the best here she couldn't afford to make a bad first impression.
"Hello, I'm Jamie the new student transfer from Beauxbatons. I was told to meet someone here who'd show me around the school." She stated in Japanese, with an ever so slight French accent detectable if people paid close enough attention. She'd tried to get rid of it but had resigned herself to the fact that it might take a bit longer than she had hoped, noting that it might go away after talking with native speakers.

"It's very nice to meet you, Jamie-san," she replied lightly. "And yes, I am to be your guide for today. "
She had noted Jamie's Japanese, so continued the conversation in that language despite having been prepared to have to switch to English. It was probably for the best that Jamie had picked up Japanese so quickly though, if she wanted to keep up with her peers here. However, Chiaki was careful to not be too patronising by speaking too slowly, but still cautious that she could be understood. Would it be too rude to ask if she would prefer English? Probably.
"If you would like to follow me this way, we can begin the tour." She gestured to beyond the gate. "If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask them."
First, Chiaki led her to the gardens, deciding to brace the cold and get that over with. Also, the gardens were probably her favourite part of the school. "These are the gardens, where you will find many students working or relaxing with friends in better weather. They also contain many different types of flora and fauna, which is why it is a perfect location for our elective subjects, which have their lessons take place out here."
As she spoke, she scanned the gardens once again, as she did almost every day, keeping an eye out for any flora that she may have missed. Despite her having been here for so long, she still wasn't sure she had come across every plant that could be found in the gardens. Raising her gaze, she checked behind her slightly to ensure Jamie was still following, before pointing at two towers a little further away. "Those are the towers for the owlery and the stables, where we have our magical creatures. We can visit those later on the tour, if you would like."Chiaki's Calming Presence is active.
