xxxxxxxx The darkly lit corridors seemed to hold their breath, shadows looming at each corner, their clawed hands gently reaching towards the shivering figure standing amongst them. Hair cascading like liquid gold, spun from the last rays of a dying sun, shimmering with light and warmth ; eyes deep pools of midnight oceans, hints of indigo and sapphire flickering beneath the surface, like moonlight reflecting on still water. Lips a delicate shade of dusk-kissed rose, faint crackes adorning their soft surface. One might have taken her as an ethereal creature, out of this world, made of pure moonlight, if it weren't for the slight shake in her hand. The rapid breaths, short puff of smokes rising up to the ceiling. Widened eyes, pearls of sweat clinging to her temples, limbs tensed. A veil of tears pearling at the very edge of her navy eyes, a single star spilling down her cheek.
Pitch black winter lives in my bones.
She had woken in a gasp. Again. Now aimlessly strolling through the darkened corridors, this moonchild seemed to have lost its sense of reality, hand running across the stoned wall, feeling the cracks in each of them. Footsteps echoing throughout the heavy silence these hallways kept, words unspoken yet understandable for any soul dipped in fear. The wind howled beyond the walls of the castle, mournful symphony of unseen specters dancing and twirling within the forest, skeletal branches torn apart. A storm. The moonchild had always liked those. Thunder rumbling, a violent contrast to the eerie stilness of the castle's walls, where candelight flickened in a desperate attempt againsr the encroaching darkness. Outside, the sky screamed its rage and sorrow, echoing the emotions stirring within the young girl's chest, emotions she had long since suppressed. She admired the blunt honesty of thunderstorm, their bravery and courage to be ruthless and destructive. Silence stretched across the halls - and yet, in the spaces between, a heartbeat pulsed, fragile and erratic, a war of fear and fatigue.
Dream-dazed, the girl wandered without thinking. The light trembling in her fingers did not cease, as shadows stretched and twisted, as if drawn to her life. Ghosts of her dream still clung to her, leaving a rotten sensation on her tongue. Stopping at a window, she nestled on the arched still, head leaning on the cold stoned wall. Her eyes wandered beyond the frost kissed glass, seeking a sensation she had not yet discovered. Lightning split the heavens apart, white fire illuminating corridors in a bright flash before the obsidian gloom settled its way back. Thunder followed, defeanng roar, the hearbeat of the storm - echoing her own. Her thoughts went silent, absorbed by the depth and beauty of this terrifying spectacle. Beauty is terror, and death is the mother of beauty. She felt the shadow of a scream lodged in her throat, a craving to match the madness unfolding before her. Raindrops falling on the window, raindrops rolling down her cheeks. She let the tears fall, not even knowing why her body felt the urge to produce these steel-like water droplets. Sad couldn't describe her current mood, nor angry. Melancholic would be more of a fit. Yearning. Craving for something, anything.
Starved soul gazing at the moon.
Then, a shadow moved. Only catching it by whatever sixth sense she possesed, she got down and vividly turned around, heartbeat rising quickly. A figure stood in the darkness, a tangle of stiff limbs bent at unatural angles, like a marionette half suspended in the dark. Lightning struck again, creating a bright halo around the moonchild's head, as she stood by the window. Blinded for a second, her eyes narrowed, as she took a step back. Her hand was shaking harder, and her breath got lost in the way, leaving her panting as the panic slowly rose.
Antlers.
There was antlers, growing out of the shadow's head.
Her mind scrambled to make sense of what she was seeing, the jagged horns stretching into the dimess. Lightning struck again, enlightening the- . Not antlers. Hair. Wild and unkempt, sticking out at odd angles. The figure was living. Breathing. A girl. Unable to make out her features in this near pitch black darkness, the moonchild did not speak. Did not move. Only watched.
Perhaps the moon is a frozen tear.

───────────────────────────────────────xxxxUpon fluttering her eyes shut, the young Bakir anticipated what sort of purgatory would welcome her in her dreams tonight. Perhaps monsters reminiscent of the ones in her favorite program? Or a creative torture chamber that included the most random of objects? One could only hope for such an exciting venture. Dreadfully, it seemed a dreamless wasteland plagued the young girl's in her nights once more—the quietude eerily crept up her spine, settling heavy on her shoulders. Sight and sound were rendered useless in the endless dreamland her mind continuously trapped her in—leaving her no choice but to navigate the world through touch. Barren feet lightly tread across the unstable desolation, hands aimlessly floating about as the ravenette attempted to gauge her surroundings. Her efforts were rendered useless, unable to capture anything but air in her grasp.
Then, she'd abruptly wake up. T'was a mundane affair, truly—the action not accompanied by a loud gasp or sweat profusely dripping down her brow, no. Her wide, vacant eyes simply fluttered open, the silk top of her canopy bed ready to welcome her back to consciousness. Shuffling about, Hana sat up in her bed, seeking to resettle herself into this plane of existence. Bleary eyes flickered about aimlessly as the young girl attempted to make out the dark shadows scattered across the room, though it served to be a useless endeavor; the only figure she'd been able to confidently identify was her dormmate, lightly snoozing. Though civil ears easily picked up on the water droplets aggressively beating against the window pane—the noise finally allowing her to recenter herself.
At the manor, nightmares were infrequent, and typically ended the same way: with Hana crawling underneath her parent's duvet, settling herself in between their sleeping figures. Only then would she be gradually lulled back to sleep, imagination conjuring vicious monsters beyond her wildest dreams. It was then was she graced with the most rejuvenating slumber. Eventually, she'd be nestled awake by her mother's shaking, slowly coaxing her back to the land of the living.
In times like this, where her family rested thousands of miles away, the incandescent pearl of the night remained her only friend. The bond the two shared transcended any descriptors of companionship, the young girl strangely finding hope and consolation in the moon during trying times. Unfortunately for her, it seemed the moon had yet to make an appearance tonight; its pale radiance replaced by the sporadic bolts of lightning striking down from the sky.
The younger Winchester brother had nightmares; that seemed to serve as her only form of solace tonight.
Quietly, the Bakir crawled out of her cotton sheets, feet landing on the floor with a small thud. The feel of the rough carpet nestling against the bottom of her feet only served as a reminder this wasn't another dream. Muffled pitter-patter noises sounded throughout the dorm as she swiftly advanced towards the door. After slowly clicking the door shut, as to not wake her roommate, the ravenette made her way into the common room and out the entrance. The movement was swift, unpredictable, as she weaved in and out of the winding halls in the dungeon; soon bone-chilling, vacant cobblestone walls were replaced with torches and the odd portrait.
The shadows of the stone fortress welcomed the Bakir daughter as their own, easily enveloping herself in darkness as she moved about the castle. She continued to move with urgency, her feet seemingly guiding her to an undisclosed location. Finally, she stopped in front of an expansive window, allowing Hana to bare witness to the stormy weather more clearly. While she missed the quiet consolation of the moon, the dreary weather seemed to wrap itself around her like a comforting blanket—the low rumble of the thunder combined with the rapid flashes of lightning were a welcome change to the horrid snow. With a soft exhale she placed her hand on the frost-tinted glass, gradually dragging it downwards; she silently observed as the glass beneath her skin cleared, leaving a curious streak mark. Raising her hand once more, she aggressively slammed it against the glass once.
Hm?
While faint, her ears were able to make out a sort of panting noise behind her. Slightly peering over her shoulder, tired eyes attempted to make out the figure behind her. There a dark shadow stood, silently observing the Bakir daughter. She completely turned around, tilting her head as she observed the silhouette across the hall. It failed to move, as if daring her to advance first. Right enough. Blinking once, she made a quick descent towards the figure—ready to assume a fighting stance if it was some sort of authoritative figure. With a bend of the knee she easily pounced on the shadow, the pair tumbling to the ground.
Light cast by a bolt of lightning graced the shadow's face, giving Hana a clearer image of her opponent. She wasn't welcomed by the sight of a prefect, or any sort of professor, but a scared young girl. Vacant eyes flitted about her face, taking in her absolutely horrified expression; her honeyed hair spread across the floor, creating a pseudo-halo above her head. An angel?
"Hello there," she casually greeted, tilting her head curiously,"Why do you roam about the forsaken halls of the castle on such a night?"

xxxxxxxx What. the hell was that.
Chest rising and falling quickly, pinned to the ground by an until then unbeknownst figure, Elena was trying to give a sense to the chain of events that had led her here, against the cold stones of the castle's floors.
It had started by a sound - a slam against a frozen window, one that had caused her own soul to flee out of the shivering shell they called a body. In other words, startled, the young girl had slowly pivoted towards the cause of such a noise, only to be once again scared to death by a still shadow. Her mind, using any excuse to torment her, had twisted the reality and gave the stranger broken, terrifying antlers - like a stag shedding, chrunks of skin detaching itself from the wood, blood dripping down the pristine floor. Then the illusion had fainted, and the features of a girl had started to appear.
And then she had jumped on her.
The two of them stumbled on the ground, a faint grunt escaping Elena's mouth as the soft and comfortable marble floor hit her back with the strength of a dozen bulls. Blinking once, twice, she gazed at the disconcerting intruder that had just assaulted her. Perhaps was she still dreaming. The lightning struck, illuminating both of their features. So, not a dream.
The girl was... beautiful wasn't the word for it. Evpraksiya was beautiful, in an ethereal, too perfect to be true way. Meiyu was beautiful, in the way intricate daggers and red lace was beautiful. Alyss was beautiful, in the way flowers bloomed at the first rays of spring. She... she was a strange sight. Brown skin, though a faded one, as if she had been locked apart from the sun for a couple of centuries. Huge, dark eyes yet expressionless, as if the dollmaker that had created her forgot to give her life. An uncanny beauty, one Elena was imediately mesmerized by. A creature born from the darkness, made beautiful to deceive the human race while it fested on its limbs. A doll, a puppet from which the strings had been cut and which stood here, unsure of how to act. A drowned person, gazing at you from below the water. Then again, the raven seemed to have a particular taste for unethical associations. NOT ALYSS !! dear alyss < 3
Still half convinced she was entirely imagining the scene, she blinked her navy eyes once more, trying to make the most of the shadow girl in bewteen each lightning strike. A strange silence had settled, once that gave her a strange urge to burst into laughter, for the situation was too strange to be taken seriously. And then the final straw. "Hello there," she spoke in the most casual way, as if they were simply meeting during class,"Why do you roam about the forsaken halls of the castle on such a night?"
What began as a quiet chuckle soon unraveled into uncontrollable spasms, forcing her to roll away from the girl's enormous eyes as laughter spilled from her lips. The more she tried to suppress it, the stronger it grew, until she sat up, breathless, with tears streaming down her cheeks. A lightning struck as she took a deep breath, a single tears rolling down her cheek, her silhouette illuminated against the window, as she sucked in a last chuckle. Still sat, she finally gazed up to the other girl, slighlty frowning.
"My appologies," she said, though a hint of laughter still lingered beneath her serious tone, "I don't know what got over me."
Pushing her blonde locks behind her shoulder, she cleared her throat, a slight akwardness settling deep within her bones. Why did she always had to socialize at such late hours ? She wasn't prepared for it, hence the uncontrollable laugh, and she did not have the sufficient battery to do what she 'effortlessly' did during the day. Though the shadow girl seemed to be particularly emotionally lacking, so at least she wouldn't be overwhelmed by another layer of unknown feelings.
Still catching her breath, she tilted her head in return, mirroring the girl's curiosity in response to her previous inquiry. "As to your question, since you were the one ambushing people in dark hallways, I feel like I should be asking you that."
