Oogie set out to find the courtyard, chalk in hand, wielded like a weapon. Her hair a wild explosion on her head aside from some braids that hid between the curls, some of them sticking out a bit. She had made those when boredom had struck in class before she dozed off with her head propped up on her arms. That seemed to happen a bunch especially in the classes that were heavy on the theory such as History or the one that had a suspicious amount of physics to be truly magical. She had hoped that if she agreed to go to a magic school she would not actually have to use her brain much in class, but this world had quickly proven her wrong. But she felt it was still better than having all classes be based on theory such as how normal schools would be. And the fact that flying on a broom was a class that she could score awesome grades with, made all of it worth it anyway.
That nap she had taken in class however, had been just what she needed to make her feel energized again and thus she now had excess energy. After class she had also lingered until she was almost on her own and swiped a piece of chalk from the classroom. It would be quite important for what she wished to do in the courtyard and so she had brushed caution aside. She was sure no one would miss it anyway, least of all the other students. If anything she did them a favor. As for right now however, she found herself in the courtyard and began to take the chalk to the brick ground. She started with a bunch of squares tied together; hopscotch.
By the end of it she had chalk dust caking her hands and face. She got up and brushed her hands off on her school cloak that she wore above her casual clothes. The white dust leaving quite recognizable streaks on the black cloth. Oh well, she would just wash it off in the evening or ask one of those small creatures with the huge flappy ears to take care of it for her. They tended to enjoy helping out with menial tasks. Oogie did not like washing or cleaning but she very much enjoyed tasks of labor... well on her own terms at least, not if she was told to take care of things. But she had fixed a bunch of fences at her home, such as the paddocks and pasture gates.

Zach just finished his class. The boy was humming all the way to the Great Hall as he was hungry. His mind was guessing what food would the elves serve for lunch. Perhaps there would be a silky pudding? Or maybe ice cream? Zach was excited for these though alone. All the materials from the class were kicked from the brain by the thought of the sweets. He couldn't help it. He was hungry after all.
Passing through corridors, Zach jumped a little with a happy face. The happiness was not only coming from the thought of the sweets but it was also coming from the way all students on his way behaving. There was no problem that could be seen until he saw a girl with wild hair and dirty robes from the chalk dust. On her feet, there was already hopscotch drawn. "Is it considered as damaging the school property?" Zach wondered. But he really couldn't see the damage. And chalk was easy to erase with water.
The boy was interested in what she was about to do so he approached her. "Ooh! Hopscotch!" He exclaimed cheerfully. After looking closer, Zach noticed something. She was familiar. Where did he see her?
Then his mind was struck by a sudden memory. "You are a prefect, right?" he asked. He saw her sometimes in the Great Hall doing prefect job. But another thing caught his attention, turning his smiling eyes into a judgemental stare. He looked at the girl from head to toe, judging her appearance. How could this little girl be a prefect? Her robe was messy with chalk dust. Zach stared at her, couldn't believe what he saw.

Oogie was still looking at her masterpiece with a - now - tiny piece of chalk left in her hand. She had to really press her finger against the rocky ground now to even get the dust to transfer onto the surface of the stones. However life was suffering and this was just another one of the many examples to prove it. She now tried to make some somewhat recognizable numbers so people knew how they had to jump from which square to where and whatnot.
By the number nine it was so faint and barely visible that she knew that she was fighting a losing battle so she just gave up and heaved a sigh. "Well that is as far as this will go," she muttered to herself under her breath and stared at the leftover dust particles between her thumb and pointer finger as if they had personally offended her. Which they probably had done, it did not have to make sense to most people. She found it quite easy to take offense after all.
It was soon after that she was interrupted by another voice, as she stood up again to once more admire her work as she glanced to where the voice had come from and spotted a boy. She had probably seen him around but he did not really stand out to her as someone she was actually familiar with, but that did not matter much because Oogie actually loved meeting people and figured each stranger was just a friend or enemy she hadn't met yet. "Ooh! Hopscotch!" the boy had exclaimed and Oogie gave a fast nod as she approached the boy.
"Aye, exactly, do you kno' how tae play it?" she wondered aloud and grinned at the boy, stretching out one dirt and chalk dust covered hand because she had felt that seemed to be the normal greeting around here. Well minus the dirt covered hands. "A am Oogie, an ye?" she asked with a slight tilt of her head, her gaze sweeping over the boy. He seemed very neat and tidy, which was not really Oonagh's style but whatever.
"Aye, hou dae ye know? Are ye a spy?" she asked the very valid question. Mainly because she had no oversight over who the prefects were and she was one of them! Well except for Martyr, but that did not really count. And Koko, but that she only knew because she met the Slytherin girl. She had felt in quite the pleasant mood towards the other kid, that was until she noticed the shift in demeanor and the scrutiny in the other's gaze and likewise there was an immediate shift in Oogie's demeanor as well.
Her hand snapped to her hip and she raised her chin in an almost defiant way as she narrowed her gaze at the boy. "Whit are ye lookin at like that, huh?" Maybe she would have to leave the Hopscotch playing for later after all. It was the boy's fault really, for being so judgy of her all of a sudden. What could Oogie possibly have done to offend the boy? Nothing of course, and thus she was in her right to be offended by the other's judgmental expression.

Oogie. Zach took a note in his head, trying to remember her name. Or perhaps, he should look for the full name of the girl with a thick accent. He was taken aback when he heard the accusation. "Huh?" He wondered what made him look like a spy. Did he dress up differently? He checked himself but found nothing. He was the same as the rest of the students, wearing a uniform. The difference between him and Oogie was that he wore it neatly while the girl was... Zach could just judge her clothing. It didn't reflect her position as prefect.
But then the girl looked offended. It was the time that Zach knew he had messed up. He should control his judgmental look. He took some steeps back and said, "Uh... Nothing. Just your clothes. You should make it neater since you are a prefect." He just realized that his words might offend her. What if she took it wrongly?
Zach tried to think of a solution to de-escalate the situation. "I'm Zach, by the way. From Ravenclaw." It was obvious since he wore the Ravenclaw uniform. "And a prefect." He thought he should add it. A prefect wouldn't fight another prefect, right? Zach was in fact, weak. He just trained his stamina and spell-casting, and never trained his strength. He didn't know if Oogie was stronger than him, but he knew that there was a girl, smaller than him, who was indeed stronger than the boy. He might be stronger if he could cast a spell on her, but it is prohibited outside the class and duelling room. He wouldn't want his reputation to be bad.
He looked around to see if there was any topic he could bring and he found it on the ground. "Your nine looks bad." Well... he would be damned. "I mean... Uh... We can fix it! Yeah, fix it... Do you have any chalk left?" Zach was sweating bullets.

"Huh?" the boy seemed baffled and Oonagh rolled her eyes. "Cannae take a joke, huh?" she tossed back in response. Perhaps he had recognized her from one of the few prefect related tasks she had actually attended instead of skipping out on, usually the ones that let her skip even more boring things or meant she would get free food.
When he said she should make her clothes look neater, Oonagh burst out in a fit of laughter, unable to take any of that statement or her position as prefect, mind you, seriously. Still shaking with laughter she shook her head. " An what does that accomplish, huh? Having fun is messy and A would rather have fun than be stuck up and tidy," her mind thought of @Koko Riddle for a moment and she pulled a face. Yeah she would definitely prefer to never be that.
"A am Oonagh, why does everyone car so much about those house names, they seem stupid," it was a sort of genuine question, though she did not fully care to have it answered because the answer would probably bore her, that whole thing struck her as crazy weird. Weren't names sufficient? That's like introducing herself with her home address. 'This is me and here you can find me', the girl shook her head and resumed her glare on the boy.
When he criticised the hop scotch she had drawn messily on the courtyards ground tiles, she shrugged and threw the piece of chalk she had been holding at him. "Fix it then, silly," she instructed, adapting a more casual stance as she squat down next to the 'offending number. Maybe it was a little smeared but that wouldn't have bothered her.
