The loud clamor of the train station made Raya cover her ears and duck her head. Her mother, Diana Hall, wrapped her arms around her daughter.
"Come on now Raya, you've got to open up your eyes, you don't want to miss the train do you?"
Raya would be perfectly content if she missed the train, she didn't want to leave her home, her warm, comfortable home where she was understood. She didn't know much about Hogwarts, other than the stories she heard from her parents, but it didn't sound particularly fun. Dorming with other students? Being forbidden to enter the forest? It didn't sound like a nice place to be. Her parents claimed to love it there, but she didn't trust it. She liked her routine at home, why couldn't she just stay there?
She did in the end understand why she had to go to Hogwarts, there was no other way for her to truly learn magic, but she wished it could be on her own terms, in her own home. Did it have to be a boarding school? Looking around at the other new students clamoring about, she hoped the school was quieter, the noise was starting to give her a headache...
"Don't worry Raya, it's just so noisy here because everyone is trying to make sure they're all ready" her father said, as if reading her thoughts. "You'll do great at school, I know it, now- the train is almost here, so you better get ready to get on!" He patted her back and pushed her forward a little, out of her mothers grasp, just in time for the train to begin pulling up.
"Bye guys, I'll miss you." Raya murmured, looking nervously up at the train before gathering her bags and climbing aboard.
