World's Best Beater
Day: 29th of January, 2025
Early Morning
@Koko Riddle mentioned.Oogie was feeling restless and has made her way to the Training Pitch as soon as the morning clouds were tipped in that tell-tale orange that promised a soon arrival of the first sunshine. She was a weird mix of both grumpy in the morning and yet an early riser due to life on the farm not allowing for much laziness as she had too many responsibilities to keep in mind and the urgency of getting those things done in time were usually enough to push her to be productive.
Now however she stood by the training pitch with her grip tightened around the handle of her Firebolt, while her froggy helmet sat atop her head of untamed curls. She felt quite ready but to spice things up she grabbed some parchment and markers and got to work for efficient practice. She would plan for target practice and the first opponent to come to mind was one Koko Riddle. She drew a messy doodle in stickman style and marked the figure with long wavy lines for hair and an arrow pointing at the figurine titled ‘Koko’. This would work out well enough so she took it with her on the broom, as well as the bludger she had acquired in a Quidditch store and made her way up towards the game field. She giggled on her way, proud at her creation as she held it up to the sky to better take a look at it.
Eyes narrowed she searched for a proper place and decided for one of the goal posts and flew up to it so that she could stick the piece of parchment to the post. Satisfied with her work she decided to take some distance and got her bat ready. And - WHAM! The released bludger slipped on the bat and flew off instead of towards her crafted target.
Oogie huffed, exasperated. This girl managed to be frustrating even when she wasn't even present physically. Oonagh chased right after The bludger to give it another go. This time she hit and mud streaked the badly drawn doodle Kind of ironic and suited the girl well enough. She grinned as she chased after the bludger to hit it towards the doodle once more. She would just draw another Quidditch player once she knew what the Koko doodle was beyond recognition. Thanks to her article she had some inspiration for names she could use. Perhaps she could doodle one of the Ravenclaws so that she could claim it as practice for the upcoming match.
Her eyes set on the doodle she went for another hit. Even the doodle looked angry, so maybe that Koko girl was just in a constant bad mood no matter the medium that captured her, or whether it was real life.

World's Best Beater

—date. [ 01/29/24 ]————word count. [ 425 ]————tag. [ @oongah brown ]— Ulysses woke up that morning in an incredibly good mood, which meant he had about an hour before he was supposed to wake up. Wednesday's were his lighter days for classes and he had a little more time to leisurely get himself to the Great Hall for breakfast before Transfiguration. It was a class that seemed to be clicking a bit more than last year, his own magic was still finicky, but at least he wasn't abhorrently failing two classes like he was exactly a year ago. A quick wash and a tussle of his hair and Ulysses grabbed onto his trusty Moontrimmer and hurried his way from the bowls of the Slytherin Common Room out to the Castle walls. Dressed in casual Quidditch training clothes, the second year snake rushed past the mix of younger and older students until his foot hit the icy snow covering the school grounds and he was quick to mount his broom and push off without hesitation or wary of accidentally hitting another student. He'd been practicing flying even before getting to Hogwarts (shoutout to toy brooms) and now, Quidditch was the only thing that he truly loved. The education was great but he lived for the rush of the pitch. In a matter of minutes, the first-string Beater made his way over to the training area and he just caught a bludger zipping through the air from a short, tiny little student that he hadn't recognized from this vantage point. The boy made his way down gently with his bag of Quidditch equipment resting against his side as he gave the two some space before calling over to her. " Ey! " At closer inspection, he noticed her as the second-string beater for Gryffindor. She barely had some time to play after Jorah and Ebony knocked Ethan and Pax on their butts. With a glance over to where she was hitting, Uly saw the words KOKO and a horrible looking stick figure and that's when the beater felt the venom circling in his fangs. " Hey, little girl! Why the hell do you have Koko's name on these ugly drawings? " Any beef this kid might've had with his captain meant that she had beef with him and he's been itching for a good fight for a while. Ulysses decidingly stepped himself forward closer to the girl, curious but defensive on what she doing here. He remained about five feet away, broom in hand and bag against his hip but a very pointed look directly to the smaller student for an explanation. ——— [ notes ] let me know if you want me to change anything. ——— [ mentions ] @koko riddle | ———— |
