Jamie is on the taller side for his age group, standing at a comfortable 5'0 (152.1 cm) and still growing. His overall physique gives the impression he's rather active, with strong limbs and the humble beginnings of a filled out torso. He possesses an olive complexion and birthmarks can be spotted on different parts of his arms, legs, and abdomen, despite his efforts to cover these places.
A testimony to his young age, the boy walks about with tousled hair, dark brown and wavy with no hopes of being tamed. At least, not while Jamie primarily views self-maintenance as a chore.
Second Year — he has grown approximately two inches and is now 5'2 (157.5 cm). Third Year — he's grown another two inches, measuring at 5'4 (162.6 cm).

history On the little island of Hawaii, Jamie Saeng was born to a pureblooded wizard couple at exactly 12:01 in the morning, on the 30th of December, 2012.
He was not the first Jamie.
In fact, it was barely a year and three months since the death of his elder sibling, the original "Jamie Saeng" that had lived to the age of nine before her light was snuffed out. She was adorable, bubbly, respectful, and above all, she was a witch that possessed a deep well of potential. If not for her unfortunate accident, there was no doubt within his family's minds that she would have developed into an excellent heir.
But, the accident did happen, and the Jamie of present day was forced to pick up his sister's left over pieces.
Perhaps he knew of the unfairness thrust onto him early into his childhood, with the absurdly high expectations and constant misgendering his mother carried out. He was not to talk back, and he was to be ahead of his grade level, not at it. He was to be polite and under control no matter the circumstance, he was to be a son that his parents could be proud of. He was to be someone—something that he was not. A replacement.
There were numerous instances where Jamie actively wished he could be like his deceased sister, that maybe if he was more outspoken, his parents would actually be forced to see him instead of a ghost. And maybe if social interaction was not so draining, he'd be surrounded with peers that could support him. If only he was sociable like they always claimed she was. If only he was a quick learner and talented with magic like she was.
Still, the young boy carried on. He gave himself up to his parents, namely his mother, entirely and allowed them to color his life. There were no complaints coming from him when he was visited by a junior dukun, and there were no tantrums when his mother actively kept him under their family's watchful eye instead. Jamie kept his head down and his mouth shut.
His cage was not opened until his ninth birthday, in which his mother relented and allowed him to join Tenūsa's pre-education system instead. He journeyed to the Isle under his father's care, and before long, found himself placed within a clan.
Then, upon reaching the age of eleven, he was finally taken as an apprentice and set to begin the rest of his life.
first instance of magic Jamie was young when he was shown to have a propensity for magic, having his first instance perhaps around the age of five.
While visiting the beach with his parents, he was growing incredibly frustrated with his mother's insistence that they leave earlier than first planned. He was enjoying himself, so why would she put an end to that? It wasn't often he was allowed to have fun in such a way.
The young boy had grown so irritated that upon bursting into tears, the nearby wash station pipes had immediately followed suit, one after the other.

Life tends to be something that passes Jamie by. He watches and has been watching for as long as he can remember, perfectly content with keeping to himself and learning from the mistakes of others. This passive behavior has often led to him being prone to discussing and thinking about actions than actually performing them, much to the chagrin of his family. His outwards nonchalance simply adds to their frustrations, but Jamie has never cared much for minor grievances.
For better or for worse, however, he is a neutral child with mild viewpoints and mannerisms at his core. While he can easily slip into any group, he can never truly belong. His passions are simply nonexistent, his opinions lukewarm at best, and his preferences strong like the grip of an infant. Jamie, therefore, is also directionless, and so he latches onto the legacy treasured by his family. He twists and bends to fulfill their wishes, because he's unsure of much else when it comes to himself.
This likes to manifest as adopting another persona entirely, constructed using stories told by his family regarding his older sibling, as this usually garners him their approval. On the surface of this mask, he comes across as warmhearted, cordial, and perhaps more competent than he truly is.
On the other hand, genuine emotions tend to elude him when he ignores his own to get the job done, because it's the smarter thing to do. It's the mature thing to do. It's the expected thing to do. His mother told him that much, especially when it comes to anger. That is why he always pretends the burning in his chest must be something else entirely, because Jamie Saeng is a pleasant young boy who doesn't get angry and doesn't lose control.
