What a nice surprise
It was a crisp day in December and Kora had been spending it in Diagon Ally with her parents. After a day of shopping they had headed back to the Leaky Cauldron for a bite to eat and something to drink before heading back to shopping.
After a while her parents headed back to shopping but Kora stayed in her seat wanting to get warmer before heading out into the cold winter air, she also knew as her the 21st got closer her parents would be buying her birthday gifts and would need her out of the way anyway, not that she needed anything. So there she sat sitting in a wooden chair sipping on a nice hot cup of tea reading a book on magical plants and what they are used for.
The chatter around her seemed to be a hum of quiet noise as she read, not really paying attention to the space or people around her. It was nice getting this time to herself though she did miss having convocations with her parents about school and her sister.
Kora tucked her hair behind her ears maybe she would cut it in the new year but for now the brown and blonde locks would have to do, though the blonde underside of her hair was beginning to fade maybe she would ask her sister to re-dye it for her but that was a whole other convocation.

"Denny, would you like to explore Diagon Alley first or go get some treats instead?" Loretta Garcia, Denise's mom enquired.
"I would prefer some sweet dishes first." Denise responded merrily. It had been months since she tasted the sweet delicacies of Leaky Cauldron.
"Okay dear, Edwin will help you place your order." Loretta responded, eyeing her dad, Edwin Garcia to follow what is being said.
"Why not my brother?" Denise questioned.
"He is busy with... you know. Things which you wouldn't understand." Loretta said nervously.
Denise grunted, she very well knew what her brother was up to and her parents thought that it would be in her best interests to not ruin her brother's love life. She had been keeping contact with Mike but recently got cut off as he seemingly got busy with someone special. Like seriously, all that my brother could do on his vacation was hang out with his girlfriend? What about me? Denise thought with frustration beyond words. He has gotten excessively insensitive about Denise's whereabouts the moment he has laid his eyes on that so-called beautiful lady. Even her parents supported that girl, what more does Denise have to say? It's not like they would even listen to her absurd opinions.
"Let's go Denny." Edwin responded.
"No need dad. I can do it on my own." Denise replied and walked off towards the counter.
"We will be near Flourish and Blotts dear if you need us anytime soon!" Loretta shouted and Denise turned around to give her back a reassuring smile. Inside she was feeling gloomy to act so rashly with her parents when she only gets to meet them on special occasions. No matter how much grateful she was for this meet up, she needed to freshen up her mood to act normally and enthusiastically with her parents. She was afraid of showcasing a misbehave which she might come to regret later. And it has happened several times earlier no doubt.
She made her way towards the counter hurriedly as she heard the door close behind her, indicating her parents have already taken their leave. She came across a girl with brown and blonde locks which were layered beautifully. She was dressed comfortably in boots, jeans a winter jacket and zip up hoodie and wore a dark green t-shirt, jeans and boots. She also had enough winter clothing including her hat and scarf. On the other hand Denise was wearing a simple hoodie and a muffler with boots reaching till her knees. She had no other warm clothings on.
Is that girl supposedly a Hogwarts student? I haven't seen her earlier I suppose, Denise thought with utter curiousity. She cleared her throat abruptly and ordered a coffee with butterscotch. Hopefully it might grab the attention of the other person to start a conversation.
Denise slowly turned towards her side, making it look oblivious that she was intending to start a conversation.
"Hello! I am Denise. Denise Garcia." Denise smiled and raised her hands in order to shake as a sign of friendliness.

Kora looked up as the girl approached her jumping a little almost spilling her tea, what a disaster that would have been. she slowly closed her book turning around to look at the girl with beautiful brown eyes or were they green? who could tell but regardless they were a pretty color. Somewhat absentmindedly she started tapping the table a small four beat rhythm that seemed to vibrate through her as she felt the nervous energy leave through the tapping, oh how she hatted not being good at socializing but it was a price she paid for being quiet.
When the girl introduced herself with such enthusiasm it threw Kora off guard a little how could anyone be so energetic about meeting someone they haven't seen before? she thought hoping her face wasn't showing a distasteful look like it seemed to do a lot of the time. Slowly she stood up standing right in front of the girl and holding out her hand
"Kora, Kora Eliot nice to meet you, Denise what brings you over in my direction?"
Kora kept her voice level er fingers tapping her thumb in a quick pattern but luckily her coat hid that from view. Her question wasn't meant to cause any trouble just it was quite odd to have a random girl come up to you and introduce herself out of the blue but in hindsight was it all that bad?
