There had to be someone who understood the trials and tribulations of teenage emotions, unfortunately for Meiyu, it was not any of the students that populated Hogwarts like rodents, many having little to no braincells. At this point in time, even Evpraksiya failed to comprehend how Meiyu was feeling, the strange girl only behaving more stranger since the initial incident which had bound them for life. She constantly feared that she was being watched, particularly after her menacing grandmother decided to invite strangers back to the manor, in the hopes that her only granddaughter had finally made friends and would learn to face her emotions rather than bask in such misery whilst hiding away in solitude.
Meiyu weighed her options as she paced down the corridors, anxiously making sure to scan every inch visible to her naked eye. Over her dead body, would she ever confide in a man, a male professor was immediately out of the question, the mere incident was enough to pry her away from any male in her vicinity. They were useless, unable to even fathom the worries a twelve year old girl would have, albeit during their time, it would not be anything on the scale Meiyu was facing. Her dramatics would only further paint the story in a negative manner, it could have been anyone, unfortunately, it had to be a troll like man chasing the blood that of the Vinogradova girl. As she continued pacing, the options further narrowed, the remaining professor being Melisande Lennox, perfect.
Professor Lennox carried herself with grace, such grace that Meiyu could immediately deduce she was similar to the girl, likely to also be raised in a pure household. She was her favourite teacher, when narrowing it down to looks alone, Lennox evidently ranked first amongst Meiyu's peers for the most beautiful professor to grace the wretched walls of the castle, though, Meiyu often wondered why she'd waste such beauty gracing the trolls that roamed freely amongst a select few of beauties. It was highly akin to her personality, one Meiyu had grown to quickly favour, irregardless to the almost dull subject she taught, History of Magic.
By this point, she had paced around the castle enough to stand outside the heavy wooden door plastered black metals, a door she had quickly grown to know well with how often she frequents the class during the week. A hideous stone Gargoyle, guarding the door like a mere doberman dog, the Gargoyle's eyes almost piercing through Meiyu's own with its initial red glow. Medusa's victim evidently understood the lioness' intentions behind her visit, allowing her to pass despite her mind racing with methods to initiate the averse conversation Meiyu had avoided since her return. Curling her dominant hand into a firm fist, she knocked on the wooden door, the force enough to indicate the sense of urgency Meiyu's visit warranted. Ultimately, she could still not shake off the feeling of being watched, fearing prying eyes lingered around awaiting further unruly behaviour from the young girl.
As the door pry open, she immediately shuffled in, adrenaline seething through her veins, quickening her heart rate. Meiyu pushed the door to close within the few seconds she entered the classroom, her back momentarily faced to the professor. It had to be safe here, the vicinity of the four walls, enclosing Meiyu alone with Professor Lennox would temporarily ensure safety. Letting out a sigh of relief, Meiyu attempted to regain composure, the familiar stoic expression plastering her face once more as she turned to face the History of Magic professor, yet, the paranoia almost evident with how dilated her pupils were, that was, if someone bothered to make that observation.
"Professor Lennox, I was hoping to speak, to confide, in you about something." Meiyu spoke with speed as she jolted towards the desk Melisande occupied. Amidst all the possible options of a confidante, surely, Melisande would be of help, at the very least, an open ear. It had not been the case where in which Professor Lennox was a last resort, rather one Meiyu believed to share few fragments of similarities.
NOTE: Received permissions from Melisande to enter.

Veiled Vengeance

Date: 17th January 2025
There were times when Melisande wished she had chosen a different path, had stayed with her old team, working out in the field, instead of now having to spend her days indoors, repeating the same lessons over and over again… but the recent events have reminded her of the reasons why she chose to be a History professor. It was more than just teaching her students about events that had happened in the past, she hoped she could at least open one or two minds and make them see that mistakes should not be allowed to be repeated, that they should learn about the sacrifices that some had done, so that they could now have a better life. She hoped her students would at least consider leaving some prejudices behind, especially those instilled by more traditional and proud families of so-called purebloods. Meli hated that word - pureblood - as if the blood in their veins ran in a different way and color. Such a stupid and outdated concept.
Meli knew she had no real power of changing minds, and even if she had, she wouldn't be using it. She knew, that real changes would only happen if the thoughts were nourished, born of true enlightenment and not just absorbed out of books and words said by someone else. That is why in most of her assignments she asked her students to give her their perspectives on study topics. Thus, it was a way for her to be able to evaluate their ways of thinking, so that she could better adapt her lessons to the needs of each class. It was always with some sadness that she read some of the answers to her questions, how is it that such young minds already had so much of that malice instilled in them? More than blood status, it was the status in the mind that worried her.
Professor Lennox was about to grade another assignment when she heard someone entering her classroom and closing the door. She stoped with her quill mid hair, overing over the assignment, while she briefly narrowing her eyes at the girl that was now walking towards her desk. She knew who she was, one of her first year students, one of the few that new how to always show a proper behaviour during class and one of the few good examples why she kept enjoying to teach.
But today the young girl seemed a little...different. She kept the same composure she was used to see in her but there was something...off. Something was bothering the young Gryffindor. If her agitated gaze hadn't said enough for Meli to understand that something more was going on, then Miss Xiang's words had told her more than enough. Calmly placing her quill next to the parchment spread out in front of her, Meli welcomed her student with a soft smile, her sapphire eyes trying to convey tranquility as she looked at the girl who seemed to need someone to listen to her. "Miss Xiang, good afternoon dear." Meli greeted her, "Please, take a seat." she said, gesturing towards one of the chairs in front of her desk, "Do you want some tea?" She then asked, taking a sip from her own favorite cup. If Mei would say yes, Meli would hold her porcelain kettle and pour a cup of orange blossom tea for her student, "Tell me, how can I help you?" She finished, crossing her hands over her working table and giving Meiyu her full attention.

Immediately shaking her head at the invitation for a warm cup of tea, moving to swiftly draw one of the chairs out to take a seat, her leg jittering with unease. It was more than an uncomfortable topic to even begin disclosing; there was no way Meiyu could approach the matter with ease. Avoiding eye contact with Professor Lennox, Meiyu's dilated eyes darted around the room, noting bookshelves nearby, reminiscent to her grandfather's study in the manor. How could she forget? Tragedy that followed suit that night had merely resulted in the young girl's mind to terrorise her; the internal monologue she once enjoyed became venomous overnight, plaguing her once innocent mind with vivid reincarnations of that night.
At times, the relay would differ; including various scenarios until it reached a point where she'd envisioned her peers in that position. Entwined with the horrible voices that urged her to harm another, Meiyu had quickly grown paranoid. Fearing she was being watched by him, despite the likelihood of it truly being impossible. Rationally, she knew she was safe from it all, although, something was off. The complexities in her own range of emotions had prompted the realisation that something was amiss, loosing the desire to torment others was the first hint of this. The vicinity of the four walls had only itched at her skin further, despite the comfort Meiyu believed Melisande would bring.
Unable to shake the feeling of sapphire her eyes burning into her, searching for any type of fault, Meiyu pursed her lips together in a fable smile; still refusing to meet her gaze. "Urm, I was wondering..." she trailed, unable to fathom the right words to merely elaborate the terrors she faced. Voices screamed at her to leave, that Professor Lennox would harm her; or worse, involve a male professor in the ordeal.
It forced her to re-evaluate the situation she had quickly found herself in, questioning why she initially sought out help. Very rarely had Meiyu found herself in predicaments where she was forced to question her intuitive nature, typically behaving on impulse, rarely caring for the implications of her behaviour. A bitter taste, particularly towards men, lingered with Meiyu, despite going to extreme lengths for the sake of self-defence. Yet, the lack of remorse she felt towards what she did had bothered her, pre-occupied with the notion that she was a bad person; that was the essence behind her visit and arguably, a better topic opener.
"Well... I was researching a topic and I had a question...about human nature." Meiyu fraudulently began once more, her eyes squinting slightly at the books on the shelf in a weak attempt to make out the titles; the illusion she created behind her visit being far from believable. She'd never cared for scholarly books unless it reaped academic benefits, even then, it was a chore to get through the pages. "If you hurt someone, you'd feel bad, right?" She piqued, her gaze moving to the desk, noting the vast amounts of parchments and quill that had presumably been used for grading. Meiyu's blatant sudden intrusion had only forced her heart to sink into the lowest pit of her stomach, once more, interrupting someone amidst an important task — grading. Lowering her head with shame to further avert her gaze, Meiyu mumbled, mostly to herself, "Why don't I feel bad then? I don't regret hurting someone." Clasping her hands together, her left hand moving to nip at the skin by her fingernails on her right hand.
Instinctively, her bottom lip found its way between her teeth, piercing through the outer layer of her lips with anxious chewing motions. Meiyu had gotten it all wrong, the voice that continued to scream at her to get out had won the blockade she metaphorically raised. Her increase in heart rate attributing to accelerated breathing, her chest heaving as adrenaline and anxiety pierced through her veins. Within an instant, Meiyu's vision began to blur, limiting her from the view of her hands attacking each other.
"I'm sorry for wasting your time, perhaps, it's best I leave." She sniffed, pulling her sleeve over her fingers to wipe the one tear which managed to spring free; raising from the chair which had welcomed her warmly, the wood screeching against the stone tiling in the process.
