✩ Cirrus winced slightly at the screeching of the train coming to a stop, he sighed letting his head fall back onto the worn-out seat of the Hogwarts Express compartment. Closing his eyes as he composed himself, he couldn't, no matter how hard he squeezed his eyes together, how tight he pushed them together the drops of water fell anyway. Plop, plop, plop. They left darker little circular spots on the oversized charcoal pants before he knew it the dam had broken, the splintering wood giving way to floods of water, burning his cheeks and eyes in its wake. For every swipe of his coat, three more tears would stream, and his porcelain face was covered now red splotches due to the irritation from the aggressive brushing of his sleeves. He scolded himself to stop crying, why had he waited for the train to stop before weeping? Now everyone would see his apparent expression, unless... He took his grey scarf, a felt texture with a grey and white plaid, wrapping it in what some called the babushka style. Cirrus pulled the fold around his neck over his face slightly so that it covered some of his pink nose and flushed lips, as for his puffy eyes he hoped that his glasses would obscure it a bit. He sat for a moment, letting out a large drawn-out sight, before pulling his 11-year-old self together and grabbing his suitcase as he exited the compartment. It was funny to think that only a few weeks prior he had left the train in fear that this was only a figment of his imagination.

The train let out a long drawn-out whistle, huffing as it came to a complete stop, this signifying one of its stops in Scotland, after exiting the train Cirrus took a sharp inhale through his nose, exhaling through his mouth. The December air was so cold it seemed to burn his nostrils, yet offered a simultaneous relief as well. So little and so much had changed within just these few months, he reflected creating a small montage of his life so far. Cirrus turned to get another good look at the Hogwarts Express, it looked so magical itself as it stood in all its majesty, the gold lining of the dark paint of the automotive. It was just to reassure himself once more that this was not a figment of his imagination, and that if he turned away it would not disappear in the horizon forever. This was all real, his reality, the journey of the school were not a distant dream, but sweet memories. Cirrus smiled slightly, the corners of his mouth wrinkling slightly due to his dimpled cheeks. The boy waved, giving one last farewell before turning away to go meet up with his parents outside of the secret train platform. Although he was excited to go see his family after months of being separated he still couldn't stop thinking of her, the very girl that had changed his experience at Hogwarts. It's crazy how just a single person could change someone's life so much, whether one realizes it or not. Cirrus himself at his young age had still yet to recognize the full length of what @Gekko Phillips meant to him. It's a complicated thing, many don't realize it until it's too late...
He passed through the wall, taking a step forward knowing that he putting away his new life, to step back into the old and familiar. He grinned upon seeing his family, their faces flooding back memories of love and comfort, his lip quivered slightly as his eyes clouded quickly falling into their loving embrace. Why had he, an average boy born to muggles, gotten the blessing of magic as well as warm love? It was questions Cirrus would ask himself every day, that he knew would or may never get answered. But maybe in reality he was content with never knowing the response.

Cirrus rubbed his eyes as he was awoken by the sound of his mother's voice, he must've fallen asleep on the car ride back home. He wiped the bit of drool from the corner of his mouth with the corner of his sleeve, stretching his arms before jumping out of the car. Quickly Cirrus grabbed his luggage as he followed his parents to the door of their small townhouse on Argyle Street. Seeing his house felt surreal, this was his home, it felt more like a dream than when he had been in Hogwarts. He smiled, relaxing his body as he untensed realizing this was indeed not some sort of trick but quite the opposite. Cirrus exploded into a grin as the door opened, the family's old dog revealing herself.
"Cinnamon!" Cirrus exclaimed, his voice cracking a bit so that it was barely audible. He quickly went inside putting down his luggage, hugging the giant St. Bernard who was wagging her tail as fast as an elderly dog could. He felt more comfort knowing that she had missed him as much as she had missed him, Cirrus just petted her for a bit before his parents ushered him to dinner. As he walked through the small home, it felt like he had never left but also as if he had been gone for years. The floorboard by the ugly burnt orange chair still creaked, the wind-chimes still singing in the breeze, and Cinnamon sitting on the living room rug rather than her bed.... Like always. After dinner he went upstairs to his room, gently setting down his luggage next to his bed knowing there was no point in unpacking since they were going to South Korea the following morning anyways. After he changed into his pajamas Cirrus sat on his bed looking around the room, it was exactly the way he left it. Except.... There was now a crib in the corner of his room with a small sign, he quickly got up and walked over moving his overgrown hair out of his face, squinting his eyes to read the engraved wood... Chamomile Nam. Cirrus with a burst of energy ran down the winding steps, learning that his mom was now around 4 months pregnant.
The following morning was just one of a long exhausting trip, in order to get to Namhae to visit the extended family of Cirrus's paternal grandparents. In which where his parents broke the good news of their new pregnancy to his grandparents. The trio usually would travel much earlier in the month to ensure they could celebrate all the holidays, but everything was changed due to Cirrus's arrival time. And of course, the family had to first arrange for someone to dog-sit Cinnamon since Hotae Cirrus's Dad had forgotten to do so previously. Luckily their neighbor, a sweet elderly lady, Robin, kindly offered to take on the job, partially because she felt bad that Cirrus would always help her out and she would pay him in cookies only to learn later he was deathly allergic to eggs. She thought it was the least she could do for the family for always pitching in after her husband died from age a few years back. She acted much like a god-grandparent for Cirrus if that was a thing, constantly babysitting him throughout his youth.
The family rode a train to Dundee Airport, as they didn't want to have to pay constant fees for parking. Then they boarded a plane and flew to Seoul, South Korea, staying a night before the following day getting on another train, before finally arriving at their destination Namhae where his paternal grandparents resided. During the whole trip, Cirrus and his mother bantered back and forth about his hair and how long it had gotten until Cirrus finally gave in to getting a new haircut. Shortly after arriving in Namhae Cirrus's mom took him to get the haircut, keeping her end of the bargain of a couple of galleons all before going to meet up with the grandparents so now he looked more presentable. That evening was filled with eating, laughter, and most importantly... Lots of love as the family reunited. Even though they had missed the mini-new year, it didn't matter, because they still got to have their little celebration.
Later when the moon had fallen behind the horizon, Cirrus went and gifted his grandfather the autograph he had gotten from Ula Takahashi. His grandfather wasted no time in recounting memories and his favorite films, as Cirrus sat in front of him listening to every word with bright curious eyes that made him chuckle. It was always great to see his grandfather, but this time there was something quite different... His grandfather was more stiff and brittle, as one became with age, but that wasn't all... This slowly created a small swirling feeling in the pit of his stomach, he fell asleep with this after restless tossing and turning.
Cirrus was jolted awake by the feeling of the presence of eyes on him, he quickly sat up struck with sudden fear as he quickly put on his glasses. At the doorway, a blurred figure was now more focused with the addition of the lenses, he stood with eyes that looked distant and hazy. Cirrus was too afraid to move when a car passing by created enough light to peak through to fully reveal the face of the perpetrator for a moment. It was a face he knew almost more than his own, one wrinkled with the betrayal of time. His beloved grandfather, just standing there with a trance-like expression in utter silence as if almost sleepwalking. Cirrus got up with a worried expression as he walked over gently talking his grandfather's dry thin hands into his, Cirrus had never noticed the dark brown spots freckling the back of his hand till today. Cirrus just looked up at him, his grandfather stood still unresponsive his breath a slow rhythm before taking an inhale and talking.
"도윤이 당신이에요?"1 He said in a raspy broken voice, calling him a name he had never heard before. Cirrus just shook his head gently as he looked at him with concern, his grandfather's eyebrows were knitted together, wrinkling his forehead as his glazed eyes looked into the distance with a melancholic expression. Cirrus who had been holding his hand, gently led him back to his room and put him back to bed tucking him as his grandfather's eyes still stood wide open. He left closing the door softly with a soft sigh...
The following morning when Cirrus woke up, he felt again a strange feeling, he looked down seeing his feet sticking off the small floor bed slightly. That was strange, he stood up feeling a bit more clumsier than usual, his legs felt as if they were wobbly stilts, he was almost afraid they would the into knots or collapse beneath him. He made his way to the bathroom when he noticed that his shirt seemed significantly smaller, whenever he moved his arms or turned flashes of his stomach could be seen. Cirrus's pants that had just been below his ankles last night were now a good inch or two above them. That's also when he noticed his face, it looked slimmer some of his cheek fat had vanished although not significantly since he was 11 years old. Had he just had a growth spurt?

Cirrus exhaled in the peace of the smell of the Great Hall greeting him, he held a small box that contained a hodgepodge and a brownie sundae. It had been a significantly long while since he had made the deal with Ula to exchange her autograph for some snacks. Now that he had gotten a couple of galleons to spare with the price of getting a small haircut from his mother, Cirrus seeing his grandfather so happy, he knew the gift was priceless but in his current state, he couldn't do much besides this small gift in return. Luckily for the boy, the redness had disappeared only leaving small light pink scratches on his cheeks. He scanned the Gryffindor table for the second-year girl, which took no time at all her appearance significantly stood out of the crowd. Ula really did look like a celebrity, she just seemed to ooze confidence and charisma, and all she was doing was sitting there. Whilst Cirrus was just a self-diagnosed loser, which was only further proven when he attended the New Year's party hosted by @Meiyu Xiang. He took a deep breath to soothe his nerves before walking over with a friendly toothy grin.
"Hello ula! hou wis yer winter break?"2 He said with an awkward wave before taking a seat next to her eating a peppermint, his arm was in a cast still. Having broke it during an embarrassing accident. "A apologize for the long wait... But here's yer snacks, thank ye sae much again he lovit it alot!"3✩
