Just curious, is the Hogwarts.io universe setting a universe that contains the Harry Potter as a franchise in the muggle world? Do muggles think Harry Potter is a made-up story, but it turned out to be real, or is it the setting where Jk Rowling never wrote Harry Potter books and never got turned in to a franchise?

In our server/site, the books and such do not exist, so basically, the JK Rowlings books and information would not be known to the "muggles", the movies and books aren't made.. there isn't a theme park themed after the wizarding world-- and so on. Basically it's a normal muggle world and knowledge WITHOUT the harry potter franchise.

So, muggles don't know Harry Potter as a story, never as a real thing either. Remember that we also have a few positions in the Ministry of Magic and rules that handle the situation in where muggles know anything about the wizarding world. So realistically, they wouldn't know either.

In this world, Harry Potter is a real person that attended Hogwarts. There is a page that has stories that follow the main story.

Yes, it is like a continuation to the Harry Potter series as the war at Hogwarts served as Voldemort's death and on the world moved, schooling continued, nothing super big was made by some person named JK Rowlings spoiling our world's secret (Statute of Secrecy for one).

So yes, minus the voldemort, it is like the books, but these books don't exist IC. Movies don't exist IC. The only way a muggle would even know that there's a wizarding world, in reality, is if their child, a muggleborn, was accepted into Hogwarts. Look at Hermonie Granger.

In our site lore, Harry is convicted for the murder of Umbridge and yes, is serving life in Azkaban. The books basically say that he lived happily ever after, what with Cursed Child saying that he had a kid with Ginny and Albus Potter went to Hogwarts in 2008 alongside Scorpius Malfoy. I'm not sure if we count Cursed Child lore here but honestly, it's irrelevant.

TLDR: Harry Potter does not exist in the muggle world, no theme parks, no movies, no books, no games. JK Rowlings does not exist as the author of those books either. The characters do exist in canon though. Their fate might be different than that of the book tells you.
