Pam had seen a lot of amazing stuff in the short while that she had been in Diagon Alley. She had liked Ollivanders the most, the method of 'the wand chooses the wizard' had taken her by surprise and had left her pretty satisfied. Madam Malkin's had been nice too, smelled of new clothes. Well, magical clothes. Those definitely smelled a little different from the muggle ones. And then she found Flourish and Blotts.
God, the books.
"Omg dad, I wanna live here please." She whisper-shouted to her father. The man seemed equally in awe himself but he flashed her a gentle smile, "I don't think you do kiddo. It's not a place to live in." Pam pouted, "Yeah I know that." She shrugged and took the list of books from her father's hand, reading through the first three. "Magical Drafts and Potions." She read, "That sounds exciting. Not sure how I feel about the next one though, the book has theory in its name."
"Over there." Her father nodded to a table with a lot of crowd and Pam nodded, hurrying into it. She absolutely hated crowds though. The people were always unorganised and had the general mindset of getting their stuff and getting the hell out of there. Hopefully no-one would die in the process.
Good to see there's no difference there.
Pam was currently sharing that mindset. And she was losing her patience at full speed, having to stop herself from hitting back at every single arm and leg jostling her around. It's not purposeful. It's not purposeful. It's not— Her inner monologue was cut off rudely as someone from behind shoved her and she smacked into the person in front of her, hard. It was a girl, probably not much older than her. "Sorry about that." She said quickly.

Diagon Alley had always been a magical place in more ways than one for Stelle. There was something about the energy of the crowded streets, the constant hum of conversation, and the flashes of magic here and there that made her feel alive; as if that place was completely in tune with her. She had stopped by Ollivanders earlier, carefully stroking her new oak wand, which now rested carefully inside her bag. She was accompanied by her parents and her grandmother, who analyzed Stelle's every step as if she were ready to point out her errors in posture or speech. She wasn't really interested, not after seeing a huge bookcase in front of her.
It was not simply a bookstore; It was a whole world in every corner. The shelves were packed with books that promised knowledge and adventures that Stelle couldn't resist. Entering there was like diving into a sea of infinite possibilities. With a bright smile, she slid between the shelves away from her tutors, letting her fingers brush the spines of the books, as if she could absorb a bit of their magic just by touching them. She stopped in front of a shelf full of books about magical creatures, a topic that deeply fascinated her. —Care of Fantastic Creatures—. she read quietly. "How awesome would it be to have a bowtruckle as a pet?" Thinking about that, she picked up the book, but before she could leaf through it, she heard the bustle in the central area of the store.
Stelle turned her head, her golden curls bouncing, to see what was causing all the fuss. There was a small crowd around a table where it looked like some popular books had been placed. She decided to get closer, but she regretted it the moment she was squeezed between all those people as if she were just another book.
—Hey, watch out!—. she exclaimed, taking a step forward as she felt the push behind her. The girl in front of her, who seemed a little overwhelmed, quickly apologized. Stelle rethought her situation and gave her a reassuring smile. —The Crowds here can be pretty intense, right?—. she commented kindly. She glanced at the paper Pam was holding, filled with book titles, it was the same letter she had received. —First year at Hogwarts too? Are you looking for your textbooks? We can look for them together if you want; I've been looking through most of the books here, so I have a couple—. Stelle, with her warm, overflowing energy, seemed to have the natural ability to make friends anywhere. —I'm Stelle by the way—. she says her name, not was able to prevent his thick Scottish accent from escaping.

Pam flashed the girl a smile, rather relieved that she did not seem to be mad, and replied, "Really sorry about that. Nice to meet you Stelle. Yeah, I'm a first year. It would be nice to shop together." The girl was nice and warm, and Pam liked her at once. She was probably Scottish, considering her very obvious accent.
The girl seemed pretty used to the place and the busyness that came along with it. Perhaps she was.....what had her father called it? Oh, a pureblood. Or maybe she's a half-blood with a more involved magical side. Pam couldn't help but wonder if she would ever get used to so many people. Her first thought was that she never would, but then again, she has always been good at adapting so perhaps she would.
Having successfully recieved most of the books from the crowd, she drew out quickly, panting after she managed to escape the groups of people. "I got some of the books!" She told her dad, piling them into the bag they had brought with them. Before turning to the girl, Stelle, with a smile, "Then, do you know where to get the next books?" She checked her list, "Er, Fantastic Beasts and....where to Find them?"

Stelle will look curiously at the girl she had just met, noting the obvious relief on her face when she apologized. —Don't worry about it—. She responded with a lopsided smile and a calm tone, finding the girl's clumsiness almost endearing. —It's nice to meet you too, Pam. And of course, shopping together sounds nice. It's always more entertaining when you're not alone among all ther madness.—.
As she spoke, Stelle took a moment to look at Pam more closely. It was evident that she was new to the wizarding world, not only from her nervousness navigating the hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley but also from the way she seemed to process every little detail around her in awe. It reminded her a little of her a few years ago, how after endless begging, her grandmother had allowed her to accompany her to that alley. When Pam slipped through the crowd and returned with the books, Stelle couldn't help but laugh softly at the scene. —Good job surviving that—. she joked, as Pam piled her books into the bag she carried with her. Then, at the mention of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Stelle's smile widened, glancing at the girl's list. —Yes, of course. Here at the back, follow me. It's a classic; I'm sure you'll love it if you like magical creatures. Are you interested?—. she asked in a more relaxed tone, curious to know more about the girl. —As for personally, I think it will be my favorite subject—. She added walking.
If you need help with anything else, just tell me. The first time here can be a little chaotic, but you'll get used to it. Plus, it's always nice to meet someone else. It's not so bad here when you find nice people—.[/color] She concluded with a warm smile, making it clear that She didn't mind Pam's company. In fact, She was happy to be of help to someone, especially seeing as how Pam didn't have much knowledge of the wizarding world.

Pam returned the girl's smile, following her as she lead her to find the book in question. Quite honestly, she wasn't sure what exactly to reply to the comments about subjects. Her father had only been able to tell her the names of the subjects, and although Pam would read up everything in the books once she got home, irrespective of whether or not she understood anything, currently, she knew nothing whatsoever about it.
So instead she asked, "Then, did you grow up here?" She couldn't help but feel curious about what a person who grew up surrounded by magic would be like. The girl had seemed pretty normal so far. But her father had also told her that the Wizarding World wasn't fully shiny and was fraut with dangers. But this girl in front of her didn't look like she meant ill. Literally the only thing which seemed different between them was the fact that she seemed more used to the crowd and bustle then Pam currently was.
"Have you got all your books already?" She asked her. Even if they girl had seemed fine with her company, Pam really didn't want to be a bother for her or cause her any inconvenience. But she was grateful for the company anyway. "Thanks for helping me out."

Stelle walked with light steps between the shelves packed with books, guiding Pam towards the magical creatures section. Walking next to her, she noticed that, despite being the same age, she was a little (too) taller than Pam. The girl's questions, full of curiosity and a hint of insecurity, were charming to her. There was something about the mix of wonder and caution in her tone that made Stelle feel a little like a tour guide, but she didn't mind. It was a chance to share a little of her world with someone who clearly found it fascinating. —Yes, I grew up surrounded by magic—. she finally answered, glancing over her shoulder at Pam. —Although, honestly, you don't think about it much when it's part of your daily life. It's like... I don't know, growing up near the sea. To you it's normal, but to someone who's never seen it, it must seem extraordinary—.
She stopped in front of a high shelf and began searching through the worn spines of the books. As her fingers ran over the titles, she added, —I suppose there are always parts of the wizarding world that feel special, like your first days at Hogwarts or the first time you cast a spell properly. But there are also things that are… Well, less magical. Exams, homework and some slightly outdated traditions—. Finally, she pulled out a slightly worn copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and handed it to Pam with a smile. —Here you go. This book is great, by the way. Some of the creatures it describes are so incredible that they almost seem made up. But they aren't—.
When Pam asked if she had all her books, Stelle nodded quickly. —Yes, I finished my shopping a couple of days ago. I like to have everything ready in advance, just in case—. The truth was that her grandmother insisted on efficiency and punctuality, and Stelle had learned to follow those rules to the letter to avoid endless lectures. —And you don't have to thank me—. she said, tilting her head with a warm smile. —It's good to help; I like it. Plus, these stores can be a little overwhelming the first time, don't you think? With so much going on at once—. Stelle didn't mention that helping Pam had given her a much-needed break from her own routine. There was something refreshing about seeing the magical world through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the first time, something that made even the most ordinary things seem a little brighter. —Sorry if this sounds rude, but... you're a Muggleborn, right?—. She asked curiously, trying to be as least rude as possible.

Pam accepted the book from Stelle, slipping it into her bag, "Thanks a bunch!" She chuckled softly, "You're right, it truly is extraordinary. I suppose it would be nice to have some similarities to the muggle world. It's much better than going and landing into a 100% unknown world right? Besides.... it would be totally unknown for me....and I'm supposed to spend a whole seven years at this school. Never been a fan of homework though."
Pam nodded as she listened to Stelle describing the creatures listed in the book, already making up her mind to read the entire thing once she got back to home. "It's..... different, you know? I even saw some people wearing pointy hats! And they seem to dress in a more....old fashioned way than what I've seen in the non-magical world. Like I saw people wearing black clocks and boots and outfits we see in 90's movies." She shrugged, a thought occurring to her, will I have to wear pointy hats one day too? No way. I refuse it.
She glanced back at her list, noting that the books left were.. "Hogwarts: A History and History of Magic?" Pam glanced up at Stelle, "Will we have to study history here too?" She pouted, "I've never found history majorly interesting."
She shook her head, "Nope. I'm a half-blood, as my father tells me. What about you? Are you a pure-blood?"

Stelle smiled at Pam's observation about pointy hats. —Well, don't worry—. she replied with a soft laugh, —Not all students wear pointy hats all the time. It's just part of the uniform when we're on certain occasions or ceremonies. But if you don't like them, you can just wear them as you like. It's not mandatory in daily life here, just a more traditional touch, I guess—. Stelle paused for a moment, then added —Though I must admit, I hate the uniform; dark colors aren't my style—.
Stelle returned a calm smile as she adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder. —Oh, I'm half-caste too—. She responded matter-of-factly, though her tone had a slight warmth that indicated she didn't mind talking about it. —My mother is a witch, and my father is a muggle—. Her voice lowered a little, as if she were used to the curiosity or the looks that that information usually provoked. But she didn't seem uncomfortable, rather resigned to the inevitable questions that sometimes followed. —It's a curious thing, you know? Everyone says that my grandmother cursed when she found out about my dad; she would never do something that would make her look inelegant. Maybe that's why he's so demanding of me; I guess he doesn't want our heritage to be lost—.
Stelle watched Pam for a moment and shrugged with a light smile. —Anyway, I think we all have something that makes us special, half-bloods, purebloods, or whatever. Oh, and don't worry, the story here is a little different. Sometimes it's boring, I admit, but it has fascinating things... like the historical duels or the stories of the founders. Although I'm not a big fan of that class either—. She laughed softly, sharing a bit of complicity. Then she pointed out the titles on Pam's list. —Come, I'll help you with those. And about the pointy hats... let's say it's optional, but you'd definitely look great in one—. She added with a playful wink as she began walking towards the corresponding shelf.

Pam grinned at the girl, "Do you not like dark colours? I absolutely love black, since it always seems to complement my hair well. So does red." She playfully flipped her hair back, smiling. "I like to wear clothes with colors which go with my hair, mainly because it's always so curly that maintaining it becomes a task sometimes-" She tilted her head at her, "You would look good in black too, since our hair colors are pretty similar, you know?"
Pam nodded as Stelle told her she was a half-blood too. Oh her family is similar to mine. Except, both her parents seem to be alive... She shook her head, finding it a good idea to turn the conversation in a different direction. She did not want to tell someone she just met that she's lost her mother. She cleared her throat, choosing to not reply to the status comments, and instead replied to her last sentence, "No thanks. I don't think I want to wear any kind of pointy hats, or hats in general. I prefer to not have my hair covered. It's frizzy enough as it is, you know?"
She followed the girl to the shelves with the required History books, scanning the place interestedly, "Does this place sell storybooks too?"

Stelle returned the smile softly and shook her head, her golden hair moving with the gesture. —It's not that I don't like dark colors, but I have always felt that light tones represent me more. Although I admit that black has a special charm, if I wear it I feel like I am my grandmother—. she joked. she looked at Pam curiously, watching her play with her hair. —You're right, we have similar hair tones, although I think red should really stand out on you. It's a bold color, and it seems to fit perfectly with your personality. In my case, I lean more towards colors that make me feel light, like pink and blue—. her tone softened, showing a hint of complicity. —Though I understand what you're saying about curly hair… keeping it under control can be quite a mission. But, you know? I think the controlled mess gives it character—. Although that sounded ironic, her curls looked perfect even if she got caught in a gale. Stelle gave a small laugh at Pam's comments about pointy hats. —I totally understand you. With my curly hair, anything on my head ends up being a losing battle—. she said as she smoothed a strand behind her ear.
As they walked toward the shelves, Stelle listened carefully to Pam's question and nodded slightly. —Yes, actually, this place has a section for storybooks. Although they are not as popular as text books, some of them are quite interesting, especially if you like magical stories or ancient legends—. she stopped in front of a row of thick, dusty books, and pulled out one that looked especially old. —You might find something here that you like. Magical storybooks often have more than just stories. Some even hide spells or little surprises between the pages—. Stelle's gaze softened as she added —Sometimes it's nice to get lost in a story, don't you think? It's like a respite from everything going on around you—.
Stelle looked at Pam with a mix of curiosity and kindness as they walked through the store together. —And what is your family like?—. she asked, tilting her head slightly and letting a strand of curly hair fall into her face. —You said you're half-blood, like me, but I can't help but wonder what that's like for you. Does your Muggle family know much about this world? Or did they keep it out of it until your first encounter with magic?—. her tone was soft, almost as if she were afraid to cross a line, but her eyes sparkled with genuine interest.
