Snow is falling
Growing up, Eva felt comfort from watching the snow. Each different snowflake with something unique about it. Dancing in the snow, making snow angles, anything.
Despite being very close with her family, snow was something that brought her more comfort than words themselves.
She sits on the windowsill, staring out as the snow layered itself onto the ground and the trees. She eventually slipped on her boots, a scarf and a warm coat and headed outside. The snowflakes fell onto her head. Snowdrops tried to push up to the surface, through the falling snow. The previous autumn leaves gone as the trees dripped with melted snow.
Looking up at the roof of her house, she sees an owl perched on there. She smiles softly as it flies away. Spreading it's long wings as it disappears.
"Don't catch a cold now, dear." Her father called from the doorway.
"I won't!" Eva calls back, smiling.
Her family never failed to get a smile on her face. You'd think she wouldn't be as close to her siblings as they weren't extremely close in age, Eva being the youngest. They all acted like children despite being 19, 20, and 23. Whining about who ate the last yogurt, or who stole the other's favourite book from the shelf. Pathetic but homely things.

Snow is falling
Later into the evening as the sky started darkening, Eva headed inside as the weather got colder. She relaxed as she walked into her warm house, the fire blazing in the living room.
She sniffed and smelt turkey and vegetable soup wafting through the house. Eva closed the door and took her shoes off and removed her coat. She walked into the kitchen and saw her father preparing food with the leftover turkey from Christmas Day.
"Smells delicious." I say going to stand next to my father to look into the boiling pot. He thanks me and I leave the room to find my brother, Benny. I knock on his door and he calls to tell me to come in. His room is messy as always but with different things as to what might be expected. Benny is a writer and there are hundreds of scrunched up bits of paper littering his floor.
"So messy." I laugh, picking up a few pieces of scrunched up paper and putting it into the bin.
"Been busy?" I ask, sitting on his surprisingly clean bed.
"Very. Been having a writer's block lately, which is pretty irritating. But trying to push through it and find ideas. How've you been?" He says, turning around and focusing on me instead of his work. Always respectful.
"Good, it's snowing a lot, so I was out there for a while, but yeah not much has been going on." I say excitedly as I mention snow.
"I can tell your nose is still pink." He laughs, booping my nose as he stands."Come on, food'll be ready soon." He says, as I lead out the room, him following behind me.
