As the sun set just dipping below the horizon it cast a beautiful orange-golden hue on the streets of Diagon Alley. Sakura stood just outside of Magical Menagerie. Today was a big day for her. A very big day indeed as she was going to get her first pet. Just the idea of getting her own pet excited her. She had seen so many of her peers' pets and played with those but there was nothing like having your own. She took a deep breath before pushing open the door.

She was immediately met with an exotic view of how many different animals there were. “Wow…it’s so…amazing. I’ve never seen so many different animals in one place before.” She turned around looking at practically every animal that was there. Besides all the animals there were crowds of other students also buying their pets. Sakura made her way through the groups of students to look at the owls. Then she made her way to the pygmy puffs, then to the rabbits and fish, the lizards, then the snakes and ferrets, and then to the cats and spiders. And even though she definitely had no interest in getting on she stopped to look at the rats and toads as well.

Her head snapped up as an older lady walked over to her. Sakura recognized her as one of the shopkeepers. “Mrs. Wittaker! It’s so exciting to finally meet you. I’ve heard so much about you and Mr. Wittaker from my peers.” She beams up at the older lady and accepts the sugar cookie from the bowl she held out offering her thanks..

Sakura walked around with the shopkeeper as they talked about what kind of per Sakura was looking for. She looked around nodding and giving small noises of affirmation as the shopkeeper told her about the different pets. They came around the store to where the cats lay. Some were sleeping while others stared out at the customers watching them pass. Sakura leaned down, coming eye to eye with one of the Silver Siberians. It was practically love at first sight.

“This is the one. I just know it.” Sakura murmured quietly She looks at the cat as it tilts its head at her and she smiles. “I’ll take this one. She looks so fluffy and I can tell we will get along perfectly.” The shopkeeper smiles as she gives Sakura the cat and leads her around the store to pick out a collar and food bowl for the cat along with food for the cat itself and leads her to the counter. Sakura reaches into her bag and pulls out her satchel of money and places the 15 galleons into the shopkeepers hand for the cat and enough to cover the cost of other things.

As Sakura leaves the shop bidding farewell to the shopkeepers she turns to her new fluffy Companion. “I think I’ll name you Luna.” The cat looks up at Sakura rubbing its face against her cheek purring happily. “You like that name don’t you?” Sakura smiles and makes her way back to the school.
