Dear mama,
I hope you're doing alright back home. How's everything in London? I’m really sorry I didn’t keep you updated for a month. I forgot that you wouldn’t know we use actual letters, like the old fashioned snail mail, but they use owls as a messenger carrier. Yes, it’s truly such a different world, but I’m getting used to it bit by bit. I just recently wrote this letter because I thought you’d like to hear about some of the things I’ve seen so far.
When we arrived at the location, they made us walk and then ride a boat to the school, which turned out to be a huge medieval castle. My dorm room is quite massive and it has bunk beds. I’m at the bottom of a three-tier stack bunk bed after. Not a pleasant spot to take, but at least it’s cozy.
So far, most of my classmates are friendly, though it’s taking a bit of time to learn everyone’s names and where they’re from. The Classes are also interesting as well. They are definitely far different than the one I was taught. We started practicing simple spells and so far, I’ve successfully made a feather float a little. Ruth, one of the friends I made, is really good at it, so we practice together sometimes.
As much as I want to write longer, I think this much is already enough. I miss you and our dog, Tilt. The school’s a bit difficult for me to adapt, but overall I’m ok. If you write me a letter in return, I’ll write back for sure. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

The letter regarding to In The Blink of an Eye

Dear mama,
It’s been a while, but I hope this letter finds you well! I’m writing this to ask if you could talk to Onkle Tobias into lending me his mechanical camera for a while. The nikon camera I brought to the school is actually useless because electricity doesn’t work well with magic apparently. Tell him that I would love to take some pictures of nature here and learn how to use it.
Please also let him know that I’ll write a thank you letter if he agrees. If he said no, could you buy one for me? I would be really grateful for it and I will send some of the pictures home. Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon.
