Books Upon Books

WC: 319Addison swiftly manoeuvred through Diagon Alley as thin beams of summer sunlight shone scarcely through thickclouds that covered the sky above. Accompanied by her mother, Addison frantically ran a finger down her Hogwarts acceptance letter—a letter long awaited. Listed, with fine penmanship, were the materials required for the approaching school year. She scurried through the crowded alley—her mother, close behind, of course—to her first stop, Flourish and Blotts, where she would acquire the books needed for all of her classes. The list read: Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger, Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk, Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling, The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble, Hogwarts, A History by Garius Tomkink, A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander.Turning the corner, she was met with the memorable green and yellow paint of the Flourish and Blotts building. Sherushed through the entrance, hastily turning the door's golden handle. Shelves were plastered on every wall, and stacks of books lined the floor. There were books upon books all throughout the store—it was more magical than Addison could've imagined. She began thoroughly searching each shelf to find the books she required, occasionally browsing other sections for books she might purchase in the future. This school year has only started, and I already cannot wait for the next, she thought, so many books to be read.'Don't get carried away... Get what you need, and we'll be off', her mother spoke slightly impatiently. To the frontcounter they then walked, a stack of school books in hand, lightly pushing past the many lively students that were also situated in the building. As they exited Flourish and Blotts, Addison was profoundly grateful to be holding the brand-new books in her hands. Her first year at Hogwarts was quickly approaching, and she was ever so excited.
