It has been a month since Donald, for the first time, traversed the Great Lake and was sorted into Slytherin. A month since his adventure started, for him far far away from the homely greyish scottish hills in which he was born.

To him the hardest thing right now was adjusting to Hogwarts, not because the castle wasn't homely, but because, well...He didn't recall the last time he interacted with so many people in just a month. It was rather tiring, really, especially talking to some First Years as him. With the professors he got along just fine, even if some classes were difficult to grasp for him.

He was waiting right on the entrance of the Library for that exact reason, backpack in hand, compulsively watching his pocket watch every minute. Miss Lennox was a nice professor, and he liked History of Magic! But there were some passages, especially when the books talked about some muggle fact or thing that happened to them, where his whole focus crashed and he couldn't understand anything else.

And now Miss Lennox gave them a project: "Write a couple of parchments on the difference of Wizard and Muggle history"; Donald guessed that it was for that reason that she chose to pair him wiht Pamela Graham, a half-blood Hufflepuff first year. Not that he especially minded. He heard of those kind of purebloods and Slytherins, and he prided himself in not being one, thank you very much. But still...moments like this made him uncofortable in just how plain it was that he was ignorant on something.

And he never talked to girl of his age. But that couldn't be a problem. No sir. That surely wasn't why he was always checking his pocket watch, looking through the allway, waiting for her to arrive. It would be just impossible. Unthinkable, even.

Speech -- Thoughts

History of Magic was one of Pam's less favorite classes. Oh, who was she kidding, it was her least favorite subject. History had never interested her, even in her last muggle school, least of all when it came to studying about it in class. She was trying to be accepting and interested though. It wasn't too hard, given the spells they'd learn at the end of some of the classes. And she had to admit, it was better than the muggle History classes. It wasn't as theoretical as she had expected, given what she Atleast here she didn't fall asleep in class. That was all thanks to Ms Lennox. God she was a good teacher.

Pam somehow enjoyed the assignments they were given. Reading about the past was much more fun than when she'd have to give exams on it eventually. But Pam really wished she hadn't been paired up with someone, what was his name again? Oh right-Donald Robinson. He was a Slytherin, she believed. She much preferred to work alone. Oh well, nothing could be done now. Maybe she'd be able to complete the work faster then?

Pam was brought out of her thoughts as she spotted a boy, clearly a firstie, standing at the entrance of the library. She walked over to him, "Hello, are you Donald Robinson?"

@Pamela Graham
Once he saw Pamela through the corridor his heart jumped a bit, rapidly closing his pocket watch and almost letting it fall to the floor instead of the dark Slytherin robe's pocket. Gripping the leather backpack a little harder "Hi!! Yes, uhm, it's me. I'm Donald Robinson." and clearing his throat, "You- You are Pamela Graham, right?" sticking out his hand for a handshake, "I'm happy to meet you. I've- I don't know a lot about Muggle things so, uhm, I hope that we'll do a good project together and, erm, get a good grade!" trying his best to not look like the shy boy he always is.

He didn't want to look like a creep or a fool with his blabbering, and everyone at Hogwarts has been really nice to him, that he just wished to give back the same warmth that the other students gave to him. Nontheless he knew he was running out of his mouth, so he simply chose to shut up and wait for her to shake his hand, hoping that however the project will go it will be a pleasant October afternoon for both of them. Maybe after homeworks they could go grab tea or something different from the castle' kitchen. Wait. She is a Hufflepuff, maybe they like something different than tea? Or maybe- Donald chose to just try and shut up his anxiety-fuelled brain for once, squirming in his position instead.

Pam blinked at the boy, as he blundered on, clearly nervous. It surprised her a bit, because all the people she had met at Hogwarts so far had been pretty, well, would confident be the correct word? Comfortable? Whatever it was, she was glad she was not the only person majorly awkward about first meetings. She was in a better place than him. At least she didn't stutter when talking to someone anymore. Oh the amount of training and hard work that had taken her. Or was his nervousness more of an opposite gender problem? She could relate to that too.

"Yes, that's me." She nodded with a small smile. "I hope we get a good grade too." She added. Pam mentally grimaced when the boy said he didn't know much about muggle history. Don't you worry. My history knowledge is probably as bad as yours, if not worse. I don't remember a single thing I learnt in fifth grade history in my ex-school. Pam didn't put it into words though, instead choosing to say, "Well, I don't know much about wizarding history so we'll be fine I guess. Plus, there are books, so if we get stuck anywhere, we can always read up."

She began walking inside the library as she said this, leading the boy over to a nearby empty table. "So, where do we start?"

Mentioning: @Pamela Graham
Her voice calmed him a little bit, noticing her demeanor and how she seemed much more at ease than him. His shoulders relaxed, while his delicate lips curled up in a smile as he could feel a knot in his chest starting to fade away.
"Oh yes, I am sure we'll get a good grate." He answered in stride, before following Pamela to the table, and letting his leather backpack fall onto the table with a thunk, with the history book and his note book falling a litte on to the table.

"Well. I-I mean we are already in the same class but if you wish we can- I-I don't know- I can tell you about wizarding history. In my manor I had a few teachers before Hogwarts teaching me about it. So. You know." He spoke as if having a) a manor and b) a few, probably private, teachers were the most normal things. "But yes! If we have problems we can always look up the books around us." He esistates a bit, looking around unsure with his hands closed, before moving one of the chairs near them, as if to invite Pamela to sit in it. He's clearly blushing.

Pam looked at him, pleasantly surprised as the boy drew out a chair near them. Is that normal? She nodded her head towards the other chair, before sitting down in hers, her mind already thinking stuff up, "Were you homeschooled before coming here?" She had to admit that surprised her. Although she wasn't really sure why. They were 11 after all, and then again, Pam had gone to school too before coming here. Maybe it was the homeschooling. It wouldn't be too different, she supposed. Or would it?

Her eyes fell on the boy's notebook, which was dangling off the side of the table, and she pushed it in gently so it didn't fall, before pulling out her own paper and keeping it on the table.

"I do know a bit of Wizarding history." Pam said, "I mean, I like to read a lot so I know a few basics. Not too much details though." She cleared her throat before addressing the elephant in the room, "Do you know much about muggle history? I suppose the biggest difference would be in the wars...." She trailed off before turning to the Slytherin, "Maybe you can tell me about the major Wizarding Wars?" It wasn't a completely unknown topic for Pam, but the more knowledge the better in this case, right?
