Pam groaned, tightening her grip on the bags in her hands. She really needed to learn that spell which could increase number of items to fit into the bag. She couldn't remember the name of the spell, again. The first time she had heard of it, the spell had reminded her of all the books she had read, which involved boxes with false bottoms. There was a lot of stuff and she really should have taken them out in two rounds. But she had been way too excited and was currently very impatient. Looks like she was finally facing the music of her lapse in better judgement.
She tightened her grip on the bags as one of them made to slip through her fingers. Don't you dare fall- she wondered whether threatening the bags would get her anywhere but she wasn't in a position to wonder at the technical details of it. Much to her luck, the corridors were mostly empty. Classes had just ended for the day and most students were probably resting or doing something else. So there was currently no-one to see her make a complete and utter fool of herself.
Sometimes Pam felt that the Sorting hat had lied about the fact that she was intelligent enough to be in Ravenclaw. She felt pretty dumb right now. Had her mother ever made stupid decisions being in Ravenclaw? She would have to ask her dad. She turned around a corner and suddenly came face-to-face with the pretty brown haired Ravenclaw she had seen once in a while but had never really spoken to. She narrowly held back a scoff, okay, this is just adding salt to the wound! She smiled awkwardly at the girl, "um, hello.

┏ ┓Promise had been at Hogwarts for some time now, and yet she still could get turned around when walking back to the dormitories. There was just to many stairs and twisty corridors to remember the pathway, even a place where she'd had gone countless times before. It was either that she had the memory of a goldfish, or the fact that she had gone lost on her way while trying to organize her bag, both where unfortunately likely. She thankfully found a familiar hallway, all she had to do now was find her way to the west tower.
Promise's mind was at least now at ease knowing that her bag was organized, even if she had wasted a quarter of an hour trying to find her way back to the dormitories for the after classes were finished. She thought it should be very embarrassing, especially after she'd been at Hogwarts for about a year, and she still didn't know her way around.
She finally found that she was almost there when she was about to turn the corner to make her way towards her common room, and she came face to face with a blue eyed Hufflepuff girl with blonde curls, she might have seen her around before, but she couldn't place her finger on when and where that was.
"Oh! Sorry." She said, excusing herself. She was about to walk past her when she noticed that the girl was struggling to carry her bag, maybe it was heavy. Promise usually minded her own business, but today she thought she might as well help the girl out.
"Oh, Do you need help with that?" She asked, eyeing the bag and giving a slight gesture towards it.┗ ┛

Pam was glad that the stuff didn't fall out of her hands in front of the girl. Less embarrassment was still better than more embarrassment. She had a feeling that woudn't last much longer though. My
hands really hurt. She thought, holding back a groan. The girl had already started to walk past her but then suddenly turned and offered to help with her stuff.
Pam could not really hide the flash of surprise which shot through her. Okay, that was unexpected. Her first thought was to turn the offer down. The kitchens were still a while away from where they currently were, and she didn't really want to impose on the girl. On second thought though, I could definitely use the help. She thought, My hands feel like they're turning to lead.
So she pushed in her desire to flee from the embarrassing situation and turned to the Ravenclaw with a sheepish smile, "Would you mind? I've to take these stuff to the kitchens." She raised her right hand, motioning slightly to the stuff, "Although I think I seriously miscalculated my arm strength... It will take a while to get to the kitchen though...I hope you're not in a rush?"

┏ ┓Promise would have never offerd to help her out if she didn't think she didn't need it, she hoped the girl wouldn't think she was strange, which was a possible, after the girl shot her a suprised glance. She had taken a second to think, then responded. She explained how she needed to take her stuff to the kitchen, and asked wether she was in a rush or not. Promise thought for a second, was she? Not really, all she had to do was finish up some homeowrk, which could definatly wait. She smilled
"I don't mind at all!" She responded, "I'm not in any rush." She added as well. She carefully took some of the materials the girl was holding and held them in bot hands. She did not want to drop her things, and possibly break or damage them.
"If you dont mind me asking, what are you doing with all this stuff?" She asked with a smile, hopefully that didn't sound to intruding or strange. She began to make her way down to the kitchen as she said this. Thankfully she was able to hold everything comfortably, otherwise, lets say everything wasn't going to make it to the kitchen in one piece, since Promise could tend to sometimes be clumsy, especially so late in day. At least now she didn't have to do her homework, yet.┗ ┛

Pam smiled gratefully at the girl as she took a bit of her stuff from her, easing her load, "Thanks a lot!" she said with a sigh of relief. It was nice of this girl to help out a random person she had just met. She tried to remember the last time she had helped an unknown person. Well, she couldn't remember the last time she'd seen an unknown person needing help. As they began walking down the now-empty corridor, a thought occurred to her, Oh, I don't know her name yet. How silly of me.
She was about to give voice to the question, when the girl spoke up first asking her about the purpose of the stuff. Pam flushed, a little embarrassed, "I was actually planning to bake a set of Christmas cakes. One which I'll take home in the holidays and some to give my friends. I have to bake twice because I've asked for only 1 oven and I don't have any magical cooking abilities, so it'll be fully muggle.." Okay I'm gonna stop talking now. Pam cut herself off, ending awkwardly with a rather lame, "So...yeah." She mentally cringed out of her life, Oh my god what on earth was that?! She was probably feeling a little weird because not a lot of people knew about her fondness for baking. She mostly liked to keep her hobbies private.
She quickly changed the topic, asking the girl with a smile, "So, what's your name?"

┏ ┓The kind girl smiled and thanked her as she took some of her things, she herself, usually didn't help out strangers, but today she thought that she might as well. As Promise finished asking her question, the girl talked a bit about her plans of baking, and bringing it for her family and friends. Promise smiled,
"That's very sweet, me myself also enjoy baking, I used to do so around the holidays as well." She carried the supplies towards the kitchen, everything clattered around as she walked. Promise remembered the times shed baked cookies for the holidays, though they'd never lasted. Her sister and brother usually gobbled them up before chrismas, but Promise didn't mind, she didn't have much of a sweet tooth.
"Maybe baking the muggle way will be more enjoyable, as to not depend to much on magic." She mentioned, she hoped that didn't sound rude, that wasn't her intention, Promise thought this girl was polite, she didn't want to make a bad impression.
The girl asked her what her name was, and it occurred to Promise that hadn't known her name before beginning to socialize with her.
"Oh, I'm Promise. What's your name?" She asked, looking towards her. She saw the girl was a Hufflepuff, and she looked like a first year as well. Promise found the girl very nice, which was not much she could say for the other people she had met at Hogwarts, most of the ones she'd met were rude, clumsy, and just had a way of getting on her nerves.┗ ┛

Pam smiled happily at the mention of the fact that the Ravenclaw liked to bake too, "That's nice! What kind of stuff do you normally bake? Mine are mostly cakes, although I like making cookies too. Oh, and macaroons!" She hummed on hearing the girl say that muggle baking might be more fun, although Pam probably would not agree. She was liking magic way too much as days passed. Well, she was a generally lazy person, it couldn't be helped. "Well, I'm not too sure whether baking without magic is really more enjoyable, since I've never done it with magic. Perhaps you could show me sometime?"
The girl told Pam her name and Pam smiled, Promise? That's a pretty unique name. "I'm Pamela." She told her, "I mostly go by Pam though." The two of them were silent for a while as they stepped into another known corridor and Pam's eyes lit up as the familiar entrance to the kitchen came into view. She hadn't really noticed nearing their destination, having been caught up in the conversation. She pointed at the door happily, "Look, we're here!" She pushed the door open for the girl, allowing her to step through. I should really stop referring to her as 'the girl' since I know her name now.
Pam had a sudden brainwave of asking Promise if she wanted to join her. After all, baking was always fun when there was company. At home, her father would always bake with her. She wasn't sure if asking that was a good idea though, since she had already taken up a decent amount of her time. Well, she'll turn me down if she doesn't want to, right? After a moment of contemplation she asked, "Would you like to join me?"

┏ ┓Promise continued down the corridor with the girl, she asked her what sorts of things she usually baked.
"I usually bake cookies, but somtimes I mix it up with cakes and other pasteries." She responded thoughtfully, cookies were what she usually did do, anything else she tried, she usually messed up with too much or too less of any ingredient you could think of. Promise did enjoy baking, but if she was to be honest, she hadn't done it in some time. The girl responded with explaining how she had never done baking with magic. Promise had never really used magic either, it was always somthing that was attempted to not be used in her household.
"I've never really used magic either..." She responded with a smile. After Promise interduced herself, the girl said her name was Pamela, but she said she usually goes by the name of Pam. Pam seemed like a wonderful name. She wonderd wether they were nearing there destinition, it had seemed like they had been on route for a short period of time, thar was likely cause of there conversation. Promise and Pam didn't talk for some time after that, they merely continued there way towards the kitchens.
Eventually, Promise glanced forward to see the kitchen, in front of her. Pam kindly held the door open for her, in which she gave an appreciative smile towards. Promise went inside, she placed down her supplies in a corner and stood back up, ready to make her farewell. Pam looked like she was thinking for a second, then asked her if she would like to join her. Promise thought about this herself, deep down, Promise wanted to say yes, Pam seemed very kind, and baking was a hobby she would like to get back into, Promise always did like to try new things. Except she would hate to intervene, after some thinking, she responded,
"Umm...Sure." She responded and gave a small smile.┗ ┛
