It's the afternoon of October 15th, and Mateo Yamamoto had just arrived at Hogwarts yesterday. He had a fun day with his childhood best friend yesterday, and wanted to do something fun again today.

Lunch had just finished for the day and Mateo decided to have an outdoor adventure, so he left the Great Hall and allowed his feet to lead him somewhere.

He had no where to go, so he randomly walked somewhere. Mateo soon reached the campgrounds and he decided to go back to where he's staying.

Mateo didn't know what to do when he returned to his tent, so he decided to leave his tent and walk around the campgrounds. He hadn't really explored the campgrounds yet.

Mateo had a feeling that there really wouldn't be much to see in the campgrounds, but he felt like exploring it anyways. This was Mateo's second time staying at the campgrounds, but he hadn't explored it yet.

Last year, he was more concerned about exploring the castle and hanging out with his childhood best friend instead of exploring the place where he'll be stayin every time he comes to Hogwarts with his school.

As Mateo was roaming around the campgrounds, he noticed a figure approaching him, and he had no idea what to expect this figure to be. He hoped it was another student, but he couldn't tell.

15th October, 12.27 between classes
Today, Sabrina had finished with her lunch soon, deciding to take a quick stroll around the castle. As the tempeture was steadily declining, she made a quick detour to her dorms - the brisk walk up the countless flights of stairs enough to warm her up on it's own - to get her coat and scarf. Pushing said scarf up to cover he mouth and nose, she stepped outside.

At first, she was just aimlessly wandering through the grounds, enjoying the fresh air and the slight bite of cold she found strangely refreshing. In her mindless saunter, she managed to get to the Campgrounds, a space she had not explored before. She knew of it's existance, of course, but never took the time to properly see it. Well, at least not up until now.

Looking up at the flags depicting various creatures on each tent, she wondered through the space, totally oblivious to the boy nearby. So much so, that when her gaze flickered back down, seeing him standing mere steps away, she almost jumped out of her skin, flinching back with a surprised squeal.

After a moment of silence and confused blinking, a smile found it's way onto her face as she visibly relaxed, releasing the tension with a small chuckle. The boy wasn't wearing the school robes, meaning he was probably one of the students visiting from other schools that she had heared of.

"Wow, sorry, I didn't even see you there," she said, shaking her head, hands settling on her hips

"Hi, I am Sabrina, Sabrina Lyons, Brie for short. What's your name?" she added, stretching out her hand in an offer for a handshake.

When the figure came closer, Mateo noticed that the figure was a younger girl, probably a first year since he's a second year. Hearing her surprised squeal caught him off guard. Mateo then realized that the younger girl probably didn't notice him, and when he heard her speak, after a while of silence, what he assumed turned out to be true. Mateo offered the girl a smile and took her outstretched hand and shook it. He let go of it before saying,
"It's all good. Nice to meet you, Sabrina. I'm Mateo Yamamoto,"

Mateo had a feeling that the younger girl knew he was from a different school because of the fact that their already in the campgrounds, plus tents with different school symbols were set up as well, so it was pretty obvious that he clearly wasn't from Hogwarts. But the fact he's fluent in English could shock anyone.

Mateo looked around and noticed that no one else was there, and he wanted to explore the campgrounds, and since Sabrina was here, he decided to ask her if she wanted to join him by asking,
"Hey, Sabrina. I know we just met, but do you want to explore the campgrounds with me?"

Her hand falling back to her side, Sabrina nodded as the boy - Mateo - introduced himself, attempting to commit his name to memory. She didn't even consider the fact that he might not speak english, so his fluency in said language didn't strike her as surprising.

"Mateo," she echoed, smile still in place as she tilted her head to a side, "that's a strange name!," she commented, oblivious as to how rude it might've sounded, finding his name genuinely fascinating. She thought about it a bit more, gaze absentmindedly sliding to the nearest tent as she hummed.

"Mateo... I like it. Has a nice ring to it!," she declared happily, nodding to herself, meeting his eyes again. Her smile broadened as the boy offered to explore the camgrounds together. That she found a bit surprising, as she had not met many people here that were so willing to hang out at such a short notice without even knowing her. It was definitely a change, but one she very much appriciated.

"Sure," she replied simply, shrugging. "I have about half an hour before I have to leave for my afternoon classes, so I have time," she adds, almost like an afterthought.

Mateo noticed that Sabrina wasn't shocked by the fact that Mateo was speaking perfect English, and he swore he heard her say that his name was strange, but then he realized that he was probably imagining things, since Sabrina hadn't spoken yet. It didn't occur to him that some people might think that his name is strange. This was probably because Mateo didn't think that his name was strange.

When Mateo finally heard Sabrina speak, he snapped out of his thoughts as he listened to her and realized she had complemented his name, which made him smile. He then said,
"Thanks Sabrina. You have a beautiful name, just like you,"

The last part, he whispered. Mateo didn't want Sabrina to think that he was flirting with her, and nor did he want her to think that he liked her. Mateo didn't fall that easily, plus, he wanted friends, not a lover, especially since he's already in love, but knows he can't have the girl he wants.

Mateo noticed that Sabrina was shocked with his request of exploring the campgrounds with him, and Mateo wondered why. But he gave up with wondering and waited for her reply. When he heard it, he smiled before saying,
"Great. We should get started then,"

After Mateo said that, he looked back at his tent before he walked in some random direction, beginning to explore the campgrounds and hopefully Sabrina was following him. He was walking slow too, so she can keep pace with him, since he has no idea how fast the girl walks.

Sabrina can't help but smile at the compliment bestowed upon her by the boy.

"Thanks!" she chuckles, not giving it a second thought, not even wondering why was the last part spoken so quietly, so much so that she probably wouldn't have heared it if she wasn't standing so close to the one who said it.

Sabrina nods, getting fairly excited at the prospect of exploring the unknown space and the possibility of making a new friend. She is a curious person by nature (who isn't?) always eager to learn about the subjects she is intersted in. This time, it's not only the tents and pathways she is curious about - although those definitely still were one of her strongest determinators in agreeing to embarking on this journey - but also the boy she followed, catching up with him quickly, picking up the tempo slightly as she fell into step beside him.

"Hey, how about we play something while we're at it?" she inquiries, her gaze altering between scanning the surrounding area and focusing on the boy, "like I spy or 20 questions."

She continues as her gaze catches on something, making her halt, her leg that was just about to land forward swinging back ubruptly as she takes a stumbling step back instead, then another, purely to steady herself. She crouches down, head tilting as she inspectes the object. Smiling, she holds it up so Mateo can see. It is a flat rock. Someone painted three cartoony blue cats on it.

"No problem," Mateo says after Sabrina had spoken.

Mateo hoped that she hadn't heard the last part, but even if she had, she didn't give it a second thought, which made Mateo glad. Mateo had a soft smile on his face. He continued walking, exploring everything around him, and he noticed that Sabrina had quickly followed him.

As they were walking, Mateo was wondering what he and Sabrina should talk about, until he heard Sabrina speak. He looked over at her and thought about his answer before he said,
"I've never heard of 20 questions. Is it a game where we each ask each other 20 questions to get to know each other? I'm done for that honestly,"

After he had answered, he continued to walk, trying to figure out what on earth is 20 questions and why was it invented. Mateo had never heard of that game, but he thought it was interesting and worth to try. Suddenly, Mateo noticed that Sabrina had stopped, so he turned around and saw Sabrina holding a flat rock with three blue cats painted upon it.

"Looks like someone left their rock here. Should we just leave it here or take it back to the castle and find out who it belongs to?" Mateo asks.

Sabrina takes a better look at the flat rock. At first, she doesn't register anything magical about it, but after rotating her wrist to take a better look, she notices that the cats' tails sway in the direction she turns the stone - more of pebble - to. She keeps on tilting it from side-to-side for a moment, only looking up upon hearing Mateo's voice.

"Oh, I don't think someone lost it," she chuckles, eyes drifting to the object in question as she takes a few steps to stand beside the boy again, "y'know, muggles sometimes do it. Painting pebbles and leaving them at random places for others to find, I mean" she murrmurrs, grasping it more firmly, lookig up at Mateo with a smile.

"Some have a number on the back, sometimes even with the contacts on the person who made it. You then take the pebble and leave it somewhere else, posting a picture of where you had found it to social media, usually facebook, stating its number in the description" she explains, flicking the pebble to its unpainted side which is, unsurprisingly, bare, before turning it back to the cats.

Letting her arm drop to her side, still absentmindedly swivelling the pebble in her fingers, she starts slowly walking again, going back to the 20 questions game topic.

"Well, no. One person chooses a word - an object, person, place, you name it - and the others have to find out what it is based on 20 yes or no questions they ask. But y'know what? Your version sounds much more fun, let's play that!" she decides happily.

Mateo eyed the pebble in Sabrina's hand and noticed that when she rotated the pebble, the cats tails moved in that direction. Mateo knew that the pebble was charmed, but wasn't entirely sure what spell was used. Upon hearing Sabrina speak, he allowed the younger girl to explain the painted pebble to him.

He found all of this information satisfying and when he returned to Mahoutokoro, he'd try to paint a rock and leave it for someone else to find. That is if he could find any paint. But he's pretty sure he could find enchanted paint somewhere.

Mateo just realized Sabrina was once again standing beside him, and that she was done talking, so Mateo said,
"That honestly sounds really cool. I like muggle things. I also like to learn more about them. Maybe when I go back to Mahoutokoro, I could do that same, but with enchanted paint,"

After he had finished speaking, Mateo noticed that Sabrina was walking again, so he began walking too, Keeping pace with her. He then heard her explain the actual game of 20 questions and found that boring, so when she said she'd like to play his version, he smiled before saying,
"The actual version of 20 questions is really boring. I'm glad you wanna play my version. So, who's gonna go first?"

She nodded as the boy showed interest in the painted pebbles, swivelling the one she was holding in her hand, fingertips grazing over the painted side, feeling the rised surface of the paint underneath them.

"My grandparents are muggles! So if you have any questions, in or outside of the game, feel free to ask," she grinned up at the boy. Prior to enrolling to Hogwarts, she found the idea of someone not knowing the basic muggle stuff, that came as a given to her, rather amusing. So it came as a bit of a surprise to her to learn that a lot of kids here, namely the ones with only wizarding backgrounds, were completaly at a loss when it came to anything muggle. She also learned that she loved introducing them to it.

"No it's not," she countered, shaking her head, not really angry or dissapointed that the boy found the original version of the game boring, just further explaining the fun of it to him,
"It's actually really fun, a great way to pass the time, especially on long car rides," she explained, unconciously mimicking the motion of moving a toy car with her hand. She in general tended to gesture quite a lot.

"Aaanyway," she continued, prolonging the first 'a' as she spun around while keeping on walking, silently admiring the surounding area. The Campgrounds were much bigger than she initially anticipated, "I suppose you should be the one to start, since you technically invented it."
