Diary Entry oo1
Dear Diary,

It's September 1st.

You know what that means, I mean I've written to you about it enough! I might actually need to get a new you soon! Today is the day I go to Hogwarts! Even thinking about it makes my hands all sweaty. My heart has been doing flips so much I couldn't sleep much last night, even though mama had to come in my room a couple times to tell me I'll miss the train if I kept it up, that got me right to sleep. I can't talk long, I have to eat and then pack you away for now. I know I'll have a lot to tell you when I'm at school!

She furrowed her brows in concentration as she dragged along her heavy, large sized trunk, hearing the wheels glide easily against the smooth pavement of the platform sidewalk. Kings Cross station was bustling with life in the early morning, the sounds of chatter and frantic footsteps echoing around her. Anna's heart thud with a mix of excitement and nerves, a feeling that had been storming inside ever since she'd received her letter, and even as the three of them crossed into Platform 9 3โ„4, it still felt like a dream. Even now after she'd already taken those first steps into Diagon Alley, after she'd seen behind the curtain, a hidden world that for years she'd believed such things to be only the stuff of fairytales from the stories she'd get lost in every day. And while there had been a great many times she'd wished to be a part of those stories, to have her silent prayers answered was something she never could have considered.

"You alright?" Came the soft tone of her mother.

Theresa Lincoln's pale blue eyes gazed down at her daughter, concern flickering within them. Anna gave a small smile in return, feeling her mothers hand in hers. She squeezed it gently, and felt the reassuring grip back. "Yes," was her soft reply; but now that they had passed the platform and she saw the train before her, its engine casting puffs of steam signaling its preparation to depart, doubts began to plague her. What if I don't fit in...? She chewed on her lower lip as more irrational thoughts penetrated her mind. What if I can't really do magic? What if she was wrong about me? What if-

Fear and anxiety slowly gripped her as tears prickled at her eyes. Her grip must have tightened on her mothers ringed fingers, for soon she was stopped in her tracks and her mother leaned down to her level, taking her face gently in her hands. Anna tried to bite back tears, but she felt her vision blurring and her body beginning to tremble. She closed them as her mother gently wiped them away with her thumbs, before pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Breathe in, hold, breathe out." Came her mothers soothing words. Anna complied, taking a breath in, holding it for an extended period before releasing it. She repeated it until the nerves in her system calmed enough for her to center herself. And then, two sets of arms were wrapped around her as Clyde and Theresa Lincoln enveloped their daughter in a warm embrace.

"We're going to miss you." Clyde chimed in softly, kissing her forehead as well.

"I'll miss you too." Her voice was choked up as she held them both tightly. The clock struck 10:59am and reluctantly, she released them from the embrace, holding both their hands, suddenly never wanting to let go.

"I'll write to you both all the time...I love you." Slowly, she released them from her grip. She tightened it on her trunk instead and with one final look back, she boarded the train.
โI'm still not sure if this is a dream. But if it is, I wish to never wake up.โž
