Snowballs In Summer?

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes
Private between Frost Cira and Isabella Hills
The holidays had been dragging on for way too long for Isabella. The longing to go back to school had come after only a week of being back from Summer Camp. And the need to see a familiar face had quickly followed.
Her lurking around Diagon Alley had arrived a week later, and she often found herself wandering around the shops. It wasn't creepy, she had been shopping everyday for school supplies she didn't need. The air around the Alley was always full of magic, and she loved it. Diagon Alley was like her substitute for Hogwarts while she wasn't there. Her mother had told her she was just feeling homesick, but how was it possible to feel homesick for, to put it simply, a boarding school?
Five days before the new school year was due to start, she found herself in Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes, looking for pranking supplies she would never dare to use during the school year.
She slowed when she reached the snowball display. Snowballs in summer? What? They couldn't be real snowballs made of actual snow could they? They must of been that fake muggle snow. You'd find stuff like that in here, wouldn't you?
Full of curiosity, she reached her hand out to touch the one closest to her. A chill shot up her spine as her warm hand made contact with the cold snow. So it was real then? Ignoring the slight numbing of her hand, she picked the white ball up to examine it closely.
What kind of spell what placed upon these to keep them cold and solid? She had to admit it, even though a lot of the stuff in this shop was completely stupid the creators of these jokes were truly genius.
The numbing of her hand became more and more prominent as time passed. She had forgotten snow was that cold. She certainly wouldn't be looking forward to winter this year, summer was the season she enjoyed - even if there was no Hogwarts.
Her hand had become damp from the snowball, and she realized it would probably be a good idea to replace the snowball back where it had come from before a worker, or even worse an owner, came and 'politely ask' her to replace the snowball, making her embarrassed and telling herself to avoid the shop for the next 4 years until she had changed enough so that no one would recognize her. It was oddly specific, but that was usually what happened when she got in trouble. Her tactic had always been 'avoid until they don't remember you.'
Reaching her hand back out to replace it on its display, she gasped when it slide frmo her hand too the floor. The breaking of the snowball happened in almost slow motion, and she was thoroughly shocked when she bent down and poked it - as if she was excepting it to just magically heal itself.
She was such a klutz, only she would do something like this. Crouched on the ground of the shop, she looked at the snowball in defeat. Typical, it had to be her that felt defeated by a snowball. Anyone else would of just laughed. But no, of course she wasn't allowed to find this situation funny.

Snowballs In Summer?

The school year could not come slower. Yes, it had only been a few weeks since the girl had gone home from summer camp, but it felt like an eternity. Well, not really an eternity but it felt like a pretty long time. Maybe it was just her, but Hogwarts seemed to peek its head every once in a while as if reminding Frost how far away it was. The girl sighed.
She had finished up her school shopping and was aimlessly wandering. Weasley's Wizard Wheezes seemed to be bubbling with liveliness, as it usually did. Not a bad place to go to just have a look around. They did have some cool, albeit strange, objects to observe. Not to mention the people those certain objects lure into the shop.
The taps of her leather boots were barely audible as she walked into the shop, the noise of indistinct chatter and eerie noises of small children filled the air. Frost wasn't much of a mischevious type of girl. She liked to stay close to the rules, well, close enough anyways. The girl didn't feel the strange urge to be troublesome or prank people that some of her peers did.
On a display of their own, there were white balls of crystalized cold. Snowballs? In the summer? Is science sure about this? Then again, science didn't really matter when it came to magic. But the mix of both was the most optimal logic. Frost reached out her hand to grab one of the icy spheres. She stood next to a brunette girl that seemed to be studying the snowballs as well, probably questioning it as much as she was.
The ginger smiled. "I wonder if there's a certain spell that-" She stopped as she saw the other girl's snowball fall to the ground and 'shatter' like a glass vase. Frost covered her mouth and tried to hold in her laughter. The other girl looked mortified. Oh, dear. She did know this girl. It was Isabella! Well, Bella for short.
Frost bent down next to the Bella. She shimmied her foot along to look like it was natrual, when in reality, she was just kicking the snow under the shelf to hide it. "Shhhh," She smiled at the girl. "Just kick it under the shelf so nobody sees." Yes, it was like kicking that dropped ice cube under the fridge. Frost acted as if she was just doing a little dance. Maybe it did look a litle weird, but she didn't want Bella to get in trouble.

Snowballs In Summer?
“Won’t there be a puddle though, if we just kick all this snow under the shelf? Surely somebody would notice that?” Despite her worry, she shuffled the last of the snow under the shelf in what she hoped looked like a natural foot movement.
The arrival of another girl had caught her off guard. How long had she been there for? And how could Isabella been so blissfully unaware to her surroundings as to not notice another person standing right smack bam next to her? Let alone one that she knew. Her brain had taken a few seconds for it to click into action, but she still managed to recognise the second year next to her in what she hoped was an acceptable to,e to be able to remember someone in.
“Frost? What are you doing here!? How are you, I haven’t seen you in ages.” She smiled as she spoke to the Hufflepuff in her year. The memory of their last less than graceful encounter was still fresh in her mind. Frost had collided with Isabella while walking by the Great Lake, sending them both tumbling down a hill into the chilling water. How could she forget an encounter like that anytime soon?
Her ignorance to the presence of the red-head that was next to her had left her feeling guilty. They weren’t friends weren’t they? As a friend, it was a given that she should be able to recognise another friend within a few seconds of first seeing them. Or at least, that’s what she had been told at her muggle school for the first eleven years of her life.
“How do you think they keep snowballs in summer? I’d love to know the spell they used - then we could have snowball fights on hot days.” The idea was certainly one that was more out of the ordinary. Who had snowball fights in summer? Even muggles didn’t do things as crazy as that. But she had to admit to herself, the idea of a snowball fight in the middle of summer certainly seemed enchanting to her. She could picture it already. They’d wear shorts and T-Shirts like normal children, and throw snowballs around like it was winter. But it would really be summer, and they wouldn’t have to wear 15 layers of clothing to keep themselves warm. The summer snowball fight would be a way of keeping them cool.
Reaching her hand out, she picked another snowball off of the display - taking care not to drop one for the second time in five minutes. “What do ya think? I’d like a snowball fight in summer. Maybe professor Blackburn can make us a bunch of snowballs sometime and let us have a snowball fight - then we wouldn’t have to wait till winter and be wearing hundreds of layers of clothes.” The idea was a simple fantasy to her, she knew the professor would never agree to it. But a little imagination never hurt nobody, did it? Well, to be fair, when it came to her it usually did. And that someone was usually her. But those were just minor details, and who ever cared about minor details anyway?

Snowballs In Summer?

The girl laughed to herself. Which shouldn't have been weird as they were in a jokes shop, after all. "It's alright. They'll just think a little kid had an accident or something." I mean, it was reasonable. Little kids were always peeing themselves. And although it was gross, it might save them from being in trouble.
"It has been a while, hasn't it. Last I saw you, we were soaking wet." The girl couldn't hold in her sort of giggley snort at remebering the tumble. It must've been quite a site. A small girl rolling down a hill and hitting the other like a bowling pin. And to add to how funny it was, they both plopped into the water. Heck, she even got her first scar from that. How could anyone forget that?
The little line on her cheekbone was still there, but it had healed up since then. Frost had always been careful about getting scratches and injuries. And that had served her well for the most part. Well, that was up until the day she had a been a human bowling ball.
The snowballs, well, the ones still intact, we're in fact, charmed or enchanted. That bit was obvious. How else would they stay cold and still solid. The ginger nodded, a warm smile on her face. "Snowball fights in summer? How silly would that sound. But, not a bad idea for when it's hot. Very refreshing, wouldn't it be? It kind of reminds me about the times my friends ad I would throw balloons filled with water at each other." The girl would step back a few steps, trying not to be next to the broken snowball. It was like an upgraded water balloon fight.
Cold hands and basically cold everything was worth the chunks of ice you'd get to throw at your friends. Frost had had her fair share of snowball fights in her time, at they were very fun, albeit freezing. "I think that that is a fantastic idea, Bella." She eyed the white balls of cold snow on the shelf. "And the not overly cold aspect of it is exceptionally agreeable. Then I wouldn't freez my nose off just by being outside." Maybe they would be a hero amonst their friends. Bringing the cold to them in the dreaded heat of summer. It was quite a silly, wack idea, but it was sure fun.

Oof. Sorry for taking an eternity and a day to respond to this.

Snowballs In Summer?

“Haha, yea, we should totally do it sometime.” Eyeing up the snowballs, she let her thoughts wander. It did sound silly, as Frost had said, but it wasn’t completely out of the picture. That was the sort of stuff wizards did, right? After all, someone was crazy enough to invent a spell with the incantation Furnunculus, with an even weirder outcome. Why would anyone ever need to cover someone in boils? Unless she really hated them, it wouldn’t be a spell she would use too often.
Reaching her hand out once more, she picked another snowball off the shelf - ignoring the voices of common sense and reason screaming at her from the back of her mind. Turning it over in her hand, she examined it carefully.
Making sure not to drop it for the second time, she looked up at Frost. "Why don't we test that idea out now, instead of later hm? Catch." In a strong, overhand throw, Isabella lugged the unbroken snowball towards the red head.
Ducking behind the snowball display, she didn't stop or look around to see if the snowball had met its target. From what she could tell from her brief interactions with the Hufflepuff, Frost was not one to just forget everything and let it all go. Or at least, not in a situation like this. She was half expecting a dozen snowballs to come whizzing towards her from the other side of the display if she was being completely honest.
Grabbing another snowball off the display, she readied herself for an unseen attack from the Hufflepuffs behalf. Thanking merlin that the snowballs had been placed down near the back of the shop, she kept her senses sharp as she crouched on the other side of the pile of cold snow. If the stores owners didn't want this to happen, then they shouldn't of placed the display down the back of the shop where it could be a temptation to anyone in the general vicinity - it was bound to happen sooner or later. If she hadn't of done it, some idiot from her school would of beaten her to it. At least she was the first.

Okay, wow I am so sorry for taking a century to reply to this! I really tried to do it sooner but I got a bit busy. Sorry
Now, there's a difference between instinct and foolish stupidity. And to be quite frank, it isn't certain whether or not the pair could decipher which side of the line this would land on. Because not even a few minutes ago, the two of them were talking about ideas for summer. And now, well, now she was here.
As soon as Bella had said catch, the ginger looked around trying to ready herself for a quaffle or something else of the sort. She even went the extra mile to duck. And that poor sweet child made the mistake of ducking. Because she absolutely was dumbstruck when that ball of icy powder hit her freckle-sprinkled cheek. There was no way Isabella would do that. Right? Even she wasn't so reckless as to do that. Right? Maybe it was stupid and her head was saying no, but she too couldn't help but watch as she saw her own hand reach for a snowball and chuck it. It was as if she was out of her body and just watching as she did something with absolutely no control.
And suddenly, she was tossed right back into her own body again. With intense instincts to duck before she got hit again. But before she did, she threw another frozen projectile. What in the world was she doing? She knew very well that they could get in trouble and maybe worse. But the other part of her knew that she hadn't done this before. That this was a chance for fun. Something she had never done before. So there in that moment, she decided that it didn't really matter if they got in trouble. Because how many people do you know could say that they got in trouble for an enchanted snowball fight indoors?
Frost laughed and shooed away the doubtful and apprehensive feelings for her to deal with later when she had the time to regret it. The girl grabbed two more and threw them in the direction of Bella, who probably wasn't expecting four snowballs to have been thrown her way. Or at least she didn't think she would've expected it. "Sorry, not sorry, Bella." She didn't know what exactly she was doing, but it brought her to a playful mood. And she hoped her brunette friend Bella was ready to eat ice, because she had just declared an ice war, and Frost was ready to give her one.

Snowballs In Summer?

Interaction with @Frost Cira
Laughing when she saw the snowball she had launched hit Frost smack bam in the face, she stayed crouched on the opposite side of the display. The smile fell off her lips when 4 snowballs came whizzing towards her - catching her off guard as they pelted her, each one hitting its mark.
“Oi! That’s no fair, you could of at least made one miss to make me feel better about getting hit by them.” Laughing again, she pulled yet more snowballs off of the display - launching them over the mountain of enchanted snow she hid behind.
Throwing six into the air, she grabbed an armful of them and ran for it. Ducking behind a shelf full of assorted knick knacks and jokes, she dropped the snowballs onto the floor. Causing a distraction for the red head to occupy herself with, she had taken the opportunity to bolt and hide somewhere else - hopefully in a place Frost didn’t see her go to.
Peeking out from behind the shelf, she threw more snowballs at the other girl - aiming them so they would hopefully hit their mark.
By now, the snow in her hair had started to melt from the heat of the outside. A few occasional drips ran down her face, and she brushed them away with a smile on her face. This wasn’t how she had planned to spend her day, but it was certainly a fun way to pass the time. She just hoped the shop assistant wouldn’t find them anytime soon…
“How are you liking the snow, Frost? I’ve got more if you want it.” Smiling a devilish smile, she threw even more snowballs at the poor girl. When she had bolted towards the shelf, she must of had at least 15 in her arms. But all that was left of them now was a small puddle where they had once sat and started to melt.
Knowing that now she had to go back to reload, she ran and dived for the display - not caring how many snowballs hit her on the way there.

Snowballs In Summer?
Quiet snickers escaped the redheaded girl as she covered her face with her hands, dimples and warm smile now hidden. By now, Frost was staying put in her squat behind whatever it was that could serve as shelter from the probably incoming snowballs from her friend. What was the feeling she could feel bubbling up in her stomach like a fizzy drink? Guilt was what was supposed to be felt after commiting something that was strictly against the rules, but for some reason, there wasn't a single drop of guilt. More so the newfound feeling of finding joy in their admittedly fun, but disobediant act of summer snowballs.
It was likely that later on, maybe after they would be scolded, she would feel the regret or guilt rain on her, after all this was one of the few times Frost actually did something against the rules. But there really wasn't anything so bad about it right now at this moment. "More chances to hit, I guess? Though I can't say I'm not proud of myself for not missing." A laugh that could be compared to the wound of light twinkling escaped her, the girl's shoulders shaking a little more.
Snowballs hit the ground and hazel eyes stared as she made her way over to pick them up. The more ammo the better, right? Quiet taps of her red converse when they hit the ground could be heard, but the ginger didn't think too much of it at the time. Though if Bella was really trying to pay attention, it would be a sure sign that Frost had taken her bait. "Where did you go now-" Florescent hair flipped back as the girl turned her head to try and see where Bella had gone, only to see several icy cannonballs whooshing her way. "Oh jeez." Though as she tried to run away, a few did hit her, leaving cold spots on her body.
Now ducked behind a display just big enough to barely cover her small figure, Frost smiled at Bella's question. It was a perfect opportunity for a good ol' pun. "Of course I am! My name is Frost after all." Her hands were much colder than before. Being the side effects of playing with snow, it was quite obvious why her pale fingers felt like ice cubes. Frosty made a little happy yelp when she saw even more coming for her. "Gosh, how many of those do you have?!" A few of them hit their mark, even with the girl sliding onto the floor on her stomach to avoid them.
With the few snowballs she had left, The girl chucked them at Bella as she saw her run toward the display. Knowing she was probably out of ammo, Frost decided to take the chance and attack while still laying on her stomach on the floor. Now she was also out of ammunition, but it didn't matter to her, who had now become a small ball of laughter.
ReducioOh jeez it's been a literal month. Sorry for taking 5 million years to reply. And yeah you could bring in the assistant (Maybe even make a snowball or two of Frost's hit him/her hehe)
