#8c6d08 | DIALOGUE
@St. Andrews, Scotland | MENTIONINGDING DING DING was all that could be heard as the boy zipped past on his bike. The bike was the color of ebony and was chipped from years worth of use, it had a small bell that was hanging onto the handles for dear life. The bike also conveniently had a whickered basket, it was the type of bike you would see in a French romance movie.
All of course that it wasn't a romance movie and he was most certainly not in France but in Scotland. St. Andrews to clarify. The boy looked over to his right to see Rogerson Shoes, which means he was on Church Street and very close to his final destination. He had gone this route so many times that he knew it like the back of his hand and it helped that it was only 3 minutes from his home.
The boy slowed down his pace as the walkways became more crowded, before getting off completely and walking beside it instead. That's when he looked up to see the familiar pink bakery with the crest of a horse and what he believed to be a cat. Fisher & Donaldson was the name of the bakery, the boy would come here almost every day, or at least whenever he had some pocket change. When he walked in he was met with the delicious smell of fresh goods.
"Guid efternoon Cirrus!"1 The red-faced man with a stringy blonde beard said while wiping the sweat from his brow with a tissue. "Whit kin ah git fur ye th'day?"2
"Juist th' usual."3 Cirrus said walking up to the counter and resting his arms against it.
"Aw, ye 'n' th' usual,"4 The baker shook his head as he went to the stand to grab a fresh lemon swish mini creme cake and put it into a small takeout box.
"Cheers Mr. Baker," Cirrus said as he gratefully took the box and exchanged it with some money.
"Cheers Cirrus," the baker chuckled as Cirrus ran out back to his bike.
He took the creme cake out of the box and put it in his mouth, throwing the box into a recycling bin. He mounted his bike with the cake still in his mouth, he let the wind blow back his hair as he rode back home. It was relieving as it was now the hot and humid summer. He only slowed when he saw an elderly couple sitting on a bench with one another just enjoying the solace of life and each other's company.
He felt his heart yearn for a moment, he always hoped that he would fall in love as much as his parents were, and like this elderly couple. Cirrus knew he was still young and just wanted a companion, of course platonically as he was only eleven years old. It was only something he was praying for in the future but he didn't depend on it, if anything at least he would still have the love of God and Cinnamon... His dog, a beautiful and kind yet, sluggish and old St. Bernard. Note: Cinnamon is a girl. (^^)
Cirrus practically jumped off his bike mid-ride as he arrived at his home on Argyle Street, it was a small 3-bed townhouse, but it was home to overflowing love. He put his bike on the side of the house and took a bite of his creme cake that had been suffering in his mouth as he rode. He was about to knock when he saw a strange man with a point hat heading his way...coded by charisse
