This night just couldn't get worse, can it?

After she had ran out of the ball, she found a nice bench to sit on. Y'know, to recollect herself. Her headache at the moment wasn't helping. Why was she so stupid as to forget her contacts tonight. Groaning at her incompetence, she went digging through her bag. She pulled out a pair of round pink glasses. Setting them on top her nose, she closed her bag. Why did things have to go so badly tonight. First he was there with someone else, and then people bombarded her. That dark haired girl mainly. She was so rude. Thought she was better than anyone.
Oakleigh looked up from where she was sitting. Oh geez, speaking of the devil. That same girl- whatever her name was- was walking towards her all sassy like. Oakleigh wiped her tears away quickly once more with the back of her hand. This was going to be hell. This girl was going to bother her once more. She didn't want to be bothered. Why couldn't the universe just leave her alone? What ever had she done to deserve this treatment?
Standing up from her peaceful place, she mentally prepared herself to leave. However, the girl was too close now. Geez, she was going to have to expect some hell.

Following her haste departure from the ball on account of Meiyu's sudden irritation and displeasure of the inability to torment her chosen victim, the lioness strolled through the corridors to make way towards the Small Hall for the Whispers event, regretfully signing up for it a few weeks prior to her sudden rebellion. She was quick to notice the young vixen who had now occupied a bench, presumably resuming the mourning of her first love. Had the young girl not spent precious time dwindling over the blonde lion who had occupied himself with another during the Gala, she would of had an more eventful evening, yet she had opted to run out crying — embarrassing herself in a sea of students who had most likely payed no attention to her. It almost angered Meiyu, her words to the vixen may have been harsh, but it was the truth. Where was the harm in asking for a dance? Through the lionesses eyes, the attention she had given the vixen had consequently halted any interactions she had hoped to have with the boy that had piqued her interest a few weeks ago in the courtyard. Immediately placing her on a mental 'hit list', who would reap what she sowed.
Meiyu strode along the corridors, inching closer to the young girl who had been rummaging through a bag, further evidence in her eyes that she lacked etiquette. A lesson that had been reinforced in her by her parents was to attend balls without excess items, such as bags carrying items she did not require. The girls appeared disheveled with the emergence of a pair of round pink glasses, altering her appearance in what Meiyu deemed to be unflattering compared to how she had presented herself at the ball. Her heels clunked against the stone flooring of the castle's corridors, notifying the vixen of her presence, though Meiyu had not intentionally taken preventative measures in disclosing her presence, her heels had given her away. Her eyes gawked at the girl, noticing her puffy eyes making it evident that she had ran away to cry. Embarrassing. Irregardless to how Meiyu felt about the evening, one thing she would never do, was cry in a public setting, especially over a boy. That was truly the peak of social suicide.
"Are you seriously crying because I asked you to dance with him?" Meiyu groaned, ignoring the fact she had risen from the bench and taking her seat on the wrinkled stone bench, stretching her legs out in attempts to ease the pain she had endured from her choice of heel. Tilting her head back to rest against the structure of the wall, Meiyu looked up to the girl that had slightly towered her in height, mentally analysing her appearance once more whilst maintaining a blank expression. "I don't understand why you didn't go dance with him, and opted to make a dramatic exit that he didn't care for," she scoffed, the irritation within her bubbling once more at the mental replay of the events that had transpired earlier. "Also, had I not spent time giving you advice, I would have had more time to spend in the ball, so I guess you got to ruin my experience too." She continued, her tone clearly laced with bitterness as she let out a sigh she had unwillingly held until this moment. She refused to give anyone the satisfaction of the true cause behind her vexed demeanour, the temptation to skin herself at any whispers that spread that Meiyu had succumb to an alleged crush had become more enticing than ever.

The girl sighed, crossing her arms. This girl really did think she was better than everyone. "IAy'm not crying because of that. Besides, ye didn't really give me advice. Ay can't just..." She groaned, looking around at things before returning her gaze to the girl. "Ay cannea just ask him to dance... Ay don't have the heart for that. Besides, if he wants to enjoy the ball with... with the other girl, who am ay to deny him that joy?" A sheepish smile crossed the girl's lips, dimples appearing on both cheeks.
Why was she even sharing things to this girl? Ugh. Oakleigh had to spill her guts to someone, and at least someone was listening. Even if that girl was a rude one, she was listening nonetheless. She pushed her glasses up her nose slightly. The lion girl looked so beautiful. Oakleigh wished she had at least half her beauty. Always comparing herself, Oakleigh was. A bad habit, one that made her days gloomy. However, it was how she thought. She grew up in a household where people compared themselves. It was how her brain worked.
"Ay apologize if ay did ruin yeez experence. However, it seems like it was yeez choice to follow me out and hand over more advice." She countered. The crybaby girl's tears had dried up at this point, her eyes back to normal. No one would've known the girl was crying unless she had told them. Or someone else had. "Uh, my name is Oakleigh. Oakleigh Bell." She quieted down mentioning her last name. She assumed this girl was a pureblood with how she acted. If this girl was, she probably heard of the Bell family. And the blood-traitor Dorian Bell, her father. Well, hopefully not. If the girl did know, she was in for a hell of a ride.

The last thing the irritated lioness desired was a half-hearted apology from the vixen with a funny accent. It was as though the more nonsense she spewed and vexed Meiyu even more. She had refused to dote on the girl, contrary to her belief that she had attempted to help the girl in her endeavours with a certain blonde. Despite her relationship with Sanguinius, the lioness could not resist a plot against someone, unfortunately for the vixen, she had become her target for the night. She sighed, a bad habit she had developed which had led her family to assume she was irritated when the reality differed, at times she desperately needed a breather, this girl was violently overwhelming to the point it had become almost jarring to be in her presence.
Meiyu turned her head faintly, diverting her gaze onto the girl who was in dire need of a make-over, though Meiyu would not grace her with such. What possessed her to attend a gala in glasses and a poor excuse of a dress was a question not even Merlin would have an answer for. She was evidently insecure, clearly jealous of the blonde in blue who had caught Sanguinius' attention that evening, a situation that the young lioness shared in commonality, though the cause for her sour mood had been a Slytherin.
"I did not follow you out, get that right first." She scoffed in almost disbelief, the girl who had introduced herself as Oakleigh was clearly delusional, she had no reason to follow her, yet that was a lot better than admitting the source behind her own departure. It was when she mentioned her last name, Bell, had it piqued Meiyu's interest. She had briefly heard of the name before, most likely her gossip of an uncle, Alaric, mentioning something about a man who had tainted their blood, typical conversations shared during their breakfast when the entire family got together, which had been insignificant until this point.
"Bell? The traitor right?" She almost laughed, it had become comical at this point, her lips curving ever so slightly as though amused. There had always been certain pureblooded families who prided themselves in their blood, similar to her own, though she was thankful that her legacy had been more tailored to house placements like the Knight alumni at Hogwarts. "Sounds oddly familiar," she mumbled before remembering she too had to introduce herself, much to her dismay. "Meiyu Xiang." She nodded, thanking the heavens once more she was able to shield herself from the Knight family name, which she favoured when it came to tormenting others of lower blood statuses.

She was taken aback when the girl snapped at her. "I did not follow you out, get that right first." The harshness in the girl's voice surprised her. She had some issues, the lioness. Oakleigh hoped she would be humbled some day. Someone putting her in her place.
The scottish girl had hoped the girl wouldn't mention her father. However, it was destined. "Uh, yeah. Like the traitor..."
She didn't know the last name Xiang. Maybe a foreign pureblood family. Nevertheless, she knew her family reputation would be one that could spread rumors among these old halls. At times, she wished she took the name Wiffler, from her mother to hide the tainted family history she shared. She thought back to when her Grandmother invited her to their manor, explaining how she was 'half mudblood.' All the Matriarch cared about was that she was half muggle-born. Not half wizard, not half their blood.
She assumed this girl's family was the same way. Snooty, bossy, always caring about statuses and reputations. Meiyu Xiang. A name she'd have to remember. She didn't want to just go around hogwarts without knowing people who disliked her. Wait- Someone disliked her?
This girl clearly did. Oakleigh was surprised. I mean, she may have been a crybaby, but that's no reason for someone to dislike her. What did she do exactly to make this lioness hate her? A question to be pondered at a later time, when her mind could handle it. She brushed her hands over the black dress she wore. It looked so plain compared to the dress in front of her. At least the pink threaded flowers added some personality.

Traitor. Interesting. The vixen was so quick to betray her own family, Meiyu owed her nothing and yet Oakleigh portrayed herself in such a manner as though she was compelled to disclose that type of information. Surely living up to the vixen title, proven so quickly in their brief encounters, first at the gala and now alone. It was almost laughable at this point, had Meiyu been in a similar predicament, it would take extreme matters to rattle her own blood, irregardless for what was at stake, irregardless to her own grandmother being so disappointed in her own house placement. Still, with the girl besides her, she had denied her the lionesses intense glare until now. With a swift motion, she turned to the girl with the thick Scottish accent, who had finally shut her mouth. The rewarding silence finally bringing comfort to the irate lioness.
What she did not expect, was for the silence to hang. The misery alluded from Oakleigh was enough to end gatherings had the night taken place back at a social ball in London, though based on the brief information her uncle Alaric had shared, Meiyu was still in the dark as to exactly why he was a traitor. Her mind almost raced with possibilities but it took no genius to cite the source behind the traitor title, blood purity. It dawned on her that in truth, not all families had been as generous as her own, though truthfully speaking was her blood as tainted? Her father was a muggle-born wizard, a slight advantage compared to those born to muggles. Meiyu found the situation amusing, her own blood-purist uncle Alaric, number one mudblood hater, changed upon the birth of the Xiang children, protesting untainted blood as their father was a wizard after all.
Sensing an odd presence, perhaps sadness and dwell from Oakleigh, Meiyu sighed once more. "I'm a half-blood too," she began, pitying the poor girl, her head tilting slightly yet struggling to form the right words. At times she becomes conscious of what she says, excluding her moments of rage where she spews brain venom, she was unaware of how to help the girl. "Luckily, my pure-blood side adore me." Meiyu finished, her monotone only making her sound more insensitive, alas she tried. That was all she could offer the vixen, amidst her own crisis, it was all she could do.
The lack of response began to fuel her irritation once more, wondering if Oakleigh began to assume that Meiyu would stoop to pure pathetic behaviour and share that information with others. It reminded her of her earlier years, where the transition from Seoul to London had proven to be more difficult than she had imagined, the impact of still struggling to make true friends being the consequence of the sudden move. Besides, had she wanted to frolic around the castle declaring the newfound information, she would have done so already, it had not been news to her. With her gaze fixated on the girl, she noticed her hands delicately brushing against the fabric of her own material, had she now resorted to comparing dresses? Meiyu's cat like eyes diverted to the dress supported by the crybaby, far uglier in comparison to the elegant dress she wore, the mere action causing the lioness to grimace in response.
All night the girl had made it about herself, publicly embarrassing herself when the lioness had merely attempted to help. Meiyu rose from the bench, crossing her arms in annoyance. "You have some nerve," she spat, no longer coating her words to cater the evening for her, "this night does not revolve around you, do you realise that or are you going continue acting like a pathetic mudblood." Meiyu exclaimed, unable to disguise her bubbling anger any longer, her brows furrowed with her gaze fixated on Oakleigh.
TDLR Meiyu is in a fit of rage once more, insulting Oakleigh.
