Lucian stood tall and proud in the middle of the Quidditch stadium as students around his age had grouped in response to word about quidditch practice. News had even attracted a student from one of the other wizarding schools and the eagerness in everyone's eyes was clear. Lucian took out some colored ribbons of distinct purple and orange colors. He handed them to each player instructing them to tie it either on their broom or anywhere that can keep it secure and visible for their teammates. A match between two new colors. Teams that had to work alongside each other out of trust rather than by their own house. This wasn't a real match, so if anything this was a test. Not just a test of strength, but of also trust and friendship. What was to be born between the new first years and the few second and third years. Rivalries? Friendships? Lucian couldn't chuckle but hope for the best and was happy to be a mediator that could declare the fairness of the match.

Luckily Professor @Felix Lin provided plenty of school brooms for those lacking one they owned. Although there was quite the surprise to see so many students already owning Comet's, Nimbus', and even a few expensive silver arrows. Was quidditch a pay to win sorts of game? Possibly, but it was more importantly a game of skill and luck. While a strong broom is necessary, quick wits and strong senses were the most important in Lucian's opinion. Healer @Dusana Sabo luckily provided their presence to provide assistance for the injuries that were bound to rise. The team's were lacking backup players, but they also only had 1 Beater instead of 2. Hopefully this could even it out a little, and a young lion (@Aodhan Shaw) played as a backup seeker for which ever team lost their seeker first.

As students prepared themselves, Lucian smiled and hoped he'd be able to get along and get to know some of the students better after such a fierce match. As the slight gloom of clouds allowed slits of sunlight to pierce through, the boy called out asking if everyone was ready for a fun match of Quidditch.

Acacia Murillo had come to the conclusion that even if Hogwarts absolutely sucked, at least the quidditch was decent. First the unofficial game at summer camp (although that one wasn't organised by a Hogwarts student), and now whatever this was, visiting the school (or events run by it) seemed to promise at least a half decent game. Clutching her beloved Comet 180, she stood on the edge of the pitch looking out over the thing. Only one person was there. She better just be early or something, because you could not have a game with only two people and if you did it would be an absolute waste of her time. She could be practicing, or hanging out with her friends before they all had to go home to their respective schools. She sighed. It was way too early to give up on the thing when she hadn't even walked over there yet.

Walking over to the dude (He was pretty tall, but he looked youngish. Maybe a second or third year?) she gave him a nod. "Where is everyone?" she asked. Now that she heard herself out loud, she realized that she did sound just a little bit rude. Whoops. "I mean, good morning. I'm Acacia" there. Polite introduction done. Now she just had to wait for the rest of these kids to show up.

I took a little journey to the unknown
And I've come back changed, I can feel it in my bones

Up until now, she'd just seen a match—and it had been absolutely destructive. Now, she'd play in one. Even she had to admit there was a knot in her stomach after seeing nearly the entire Ravenclaw team fall the other day, but there was an excitement in her stomach that was stronger still. Maisie wanted to participate as much as possible in everything Hogwarts had to offer, and this was no exception. Besides, it might help her determine what sport might suit her best.

She arrived to find Lucien, her protector from the boats, already there and handing out colored ribbons. Purple—a majestic color—she'd been given. Excitedly she tied it around the very top of the broom shaft and pulled it tight so that it wouldn't come loose in play. She'd keep a sharp eye for more purple ribbons to be given out; she was keen to meet the others who would comprise her team.

Feet on the ground, she was getting ready to mount her broom when she heard someone else introduce themselves. It was a girl she didn't recognize, not that that was strange—most people she still didn't recognize. "Maisie," she introduced herself with both a nod and a wave, "It's nice to meet you." Noticing the girl had no purple ribbon, she added, "Good luck up there."

Her eyes flit up to the goal posts. From the stands, they'd looked small and negligible. But from this vantage point, they looked absolutely huge. She hoped she was up to it.

Time to find out.

Really, Aodhan was the nicest guy, wasn't he? He was sure that he would earn a medal in another life for his willingness to let other Quidditch-hopefuls show their stuff. After all, he had the chance to swoop in and take a proper seeker position on one of the practice teams, but he'd already landed a spot on his house's official one. And wasn't he so humble for not announcing this information to anyone present? He was fairly certain only the host, the scarily tall hufflepuff over yonder, had any idea of this noble sacrifice.

Yes, the noble sacrifice of sitting pretty until another student was brutally thrown off their fancy broom. What a great guy he was.

With his task for the day set, the youth chose to get comfortable on one of the benches close by. He originally wanted to carry a few treats to snack on while watching, but had gone too far and already ate them into nothingness. Now, as the sweets remained happily in his stomach, Aodhan was forced to give the match his... hopefully undivided attention.

Once more people gathered and right after the host called out if they were ready, the boy would let out a cheerful "whoop" to help add some excitement.

"I wanna see violence, guys! No mercy! Go crazy with it! Yeah!"

Sure, some would call him an instigator, but he'd rather call himself a person that didn't mind a little fun.

When Camilla had heard about a fun Quidditch match between the youngsters in Hogwarts, she was excited. She was expecting people like her, just some kids with a lot of enthusiasm and heart, who'd be showing up for a good time. Sure, there might be some Comet 180s, but those were fun brooms.

That was not what she got.

Camilla whistled in appreciation, though even she was not sure at what with there being so much going on. Being in the center of the Quidditch Pitch trying to be ready to play was such a new and novel experience, and made the stadium just feel so large and exciting. Already, she could feel her nerves working themselves up.

Then there was the stupid number of high-quality brooms on display -- three, yes THREE -- Silver Arrows. Like hell, what was this meant to be, pro under-13s? By some luck, they were all on her side, and she would not have the unenviable task of trying to fly against them (though that did not stop her from sending @Meyra Lancaster's broom the side eyed glance every so often).

Then there was the host of the game, the freakishly huge first year kid. A part of her wondered what he would be like playing basketball, or even Quidditch -- could he even fly on a normal broom, or would he need one of the family sized ones -- while another part felt tempted to try and climb him as if her were just a really sentient tree. Now that was an idea, and she would have to try and get the jump on him sometime to try it out.

But that was for later. "For now, Quidditch!" She said the last part aloud, without quite meaning to.

AEIOUSAPrat had never stepped onto a quidditch field before with the intention to play, only few times he ahd actually come to the grounds were to either cheer on whatever team managed to gain his attention or to run bery much illegal games on account of mischief and experimentation along with his friends from various houses and years. This was his first time getting on a broom for the very purpose of playing quidditch. With no prior experience of the sport, he decided best he could do was give it his all and see how it goes. While he wasn't one to usually go into anything without control, a low stakes game with nothing to lose seemed like a superb chance to make acquaintances.

Playing as the seeker seemed like wisest option to him, staying in the middle of the action while not unwillingly throwing himself in the line of sight for most bludgers or anything similar. Getting to the field Prat offered a Hi, hello or a nod and likes of such similar greetings, depending on how familiar he was with each of the player on his and the opposing team. Getting on his broom had very few words to say. "Goodluck everyone, let's have a nice clean game." he voiced as he continued with thousand other thoughts occupying his brain.

Alliasta was walking with double the excitement this day. She would actually be playing in a Quidditch game today, even if it wasn't official. She really wanted to win so she would do her best, but she was sure that having no experience would affect that a bit. But she had to trust her other teammates, too. She has always liked team games more than playing alone.

The girl took a deep breath. Alliasta hadn't bought a broom for herself, but someone great on her team had offered to give her one she had. This was something for which Alliasta would be forever grateful to the girl. So she took deep breaths again. Then she looked around and finally reached the field and went inside. Stepping in here as a player...it was perfect.

"Huh, I hope this goes really well. Even if I don't win, I really want to have fun."

Alliasta continued to motivate herself, trying to contain all the excitement within her and focus. It was really hard for the girl, but she could do it. She looked around again and the others had already arrived. She tried to smile at them all. Even if they don't make eye contact. The girl eventually began to overcome her excitement and continued to focus. Once she started, she would only play to win and do her best.

Jess marched out onto the Quidditch pitch, carrying her shiny Silver Arrow under her right arm. She still couldn't believe her fortune - the fact that an older student had really just given her a pristine, top-of-the-line broom baffled her to this day. Despite that, a tinge of worry trickled through her as she remembered her last 'collaboration' with the Silver Arrow... her neck was still aching from the whiplash. But Jess pushed the thought aside - and how did that practice session end? There's no reason why this shouldn't be a resounding success!

Jess shielded her eyes from the autumn sun as she made her way over to a towering first year, who she recognised as Lucian Allum from reputation alone. A half-giant... in all these years, I've never met someone like that! He's just so... well, tall!

"Thanks for organising this, Lucian! It's amazing that you managed to get access to the Quidditch Stadium, on a Saturday no less!", Jess chuckled as she smiled and took a purple ribbon from his hand. Following his instructions, she tied the ribbon securely to the front of her broom, and observed the students around her, who were all doing the same thing. Jess' eyes flitted over the players that would be on her team - just girls, from what I can see! Her face lit up at the sight of Eugenia, who was on the Hufflepuff team with her, but she didn't recognise anyone else, and had to assume they were first years. Not a bad selection of brooms, though! As Jess took a mental count, she gasped. 1, 2, 3... do we really have 3 Silver Arrows on this team?! Whipping around, she surveyed the brooms of the opposing team, and nearly laughed out loud. That's just not fair!

At that moment, Jess spotted none other than Aston Beckett, the first student she'd ever met at Hogwarts. She noted the orange ribbon on his broom, but waved eagerly at him all the same, beaming. Jess felt the urge to reconnect, but was aware that the game would soon start. Besides, she still needed to talk strategy with her teammates.

Everyone with a purple ribbon gradually converged, and Jess signalled for them to come into a huddle. In whispered tones, they speedily devised a plan, and Jess' face hardened. It's just a test match, but somehow, this feels... Never mind. She shot a glance at the orange team on the other side of the pitch, and her stomach became a bottomless pit.

Fortunately, Jess was surprised by how quickly they'd come to an agreement on the team strategy, and she straddled her broom, awaiting the starting signal from Lucian. Her left thumb rubbed against the material of her light blue Quidditch sweater, seeking comfort - this was no ordinary sweater. It was her mum's, and Jess treasured the piece of clothing above any other material object in the world. She wanted her mum at her side during the match - I mean, it can't hurt to have a professional Quidditch player rooting for you!

Jess smiled to herself, but her eyes drifted over to Aston across the field, clutching a bat, and the smile faded, as she resumed her mask of concentration. This can go either of two ways, but there's something I know for sure - at least one of us is going to be unconscious by the end of this match.

| Each movement felt heavier than the last as Mamori trudged toward the Quidditch stadium, hoping he wasn’t already late. Normally, he’d be bursting with enthusiasm at the thought of a match — the energy, the rush, the sound of brooms slicing through the air. But after a late night and barely any rest, his body was dragging. Staying up for the Wizarding Wireless Network’s Halloween special — a midnight broadcast he couldn’t resist — had thrown off his usual routine as an early riser. Even now, with a headache gnawing at him, he knew he’d make the same choice again. Because that’s just how it is when you’re eleven and low on impulse control.

Through bleary eyes, Mamori spotted the gathering of students around a remarkably tall figure. Lucian — the organizer — stood out quite literally above the rest. Mamori shuffled over and took the orange ribbon from him, muttering a tired "Thanks." At least the clouds overhead were doing him a favor, diffusing the sunlight into something softer and easier on his strained senses.

As he wove through the crowd, his sluggish mind slowly took in the scene. Three Silver Arrows gleamed on the opposing team — brooms that were hardly budget-friendly. On any other day, he’d have a witty comment or two ready, but today his usual edge was dulled. What did cut through the haze was the peculiar team distribution. His orange-ribboned teammates all seemed to be older students, while familiar first-year faces he recognized from shared classes or the Sorting Ceremony clustered on the purple side, wielding those impressive Silver Arrows. He couldn’t help but wonder if Lucian had orchestrated this setup — though, again, he wasn’t exactly in the mood to puzzle out why.

When a few teammates greeted him, he managed a small, tired smile in response — more an attempt at reassurance than anything else.

It wasn’t until Mamori finished tying the orange ribbon around his forehead — a choice that felt oddly fitting despite his pounding head — that the reality finally sank in: his first actual Quidditch match.

His heart kicked into high gear, pounding against his ribcage as if trying to jolt the rest of him awake. He pressed a hand to his chest, feeling the rapid beat beneath his palm. Maybe the headache was worth it after all, just to be part of this moment.

Elisa slowly walked into the Quidditch Stadium with a frown plastered over her face, she had barely gotten any sleep the previous night and now here she was yawning and groaning, as much as the young blonde wished to skip the match, her sportsmanship prevented her from doing so, after all dumping the game wouldn't leave a good impression, especially with the fact that half of her teammates were people she had never met, except for Prat, a true prat like his name suggests. As Elisa walked into the pitch she couldn't help but groan, it was nearly all new faces, while most of them actually were the same year as her, she had never interacted with them, more like she had barely interacted with anyone her year except for Ernest and surprisingly Prat who out of a sudden was becoming a regular in her life.

As Elisa patiently waited for everyone, she took a piece of the orange ribbon and used it delicately to form a bow and placed it on her hair, there was no way she was going to waste such a pretty shade material to tie it on her broom, she'd rather show her team color with style than displaying it boringly like everyone else. Just when she was sure everyone had introduced themselves, she muttered in a cold voice "Elisa, don't expect any gentle play from my side", while her plan wasn't to seem harsh, but neither can she ever control her grumpiness while lacking sleep.
