Hogwarts Journey Nerves
It was the morning of Mayas big day, as she would travel to her new school Hogwarts. Her parents had pre-planned and drove her down to London and stayed the night at a hotel. So as the sun rose on the morning Maya could feel a rush of excitement but also a rush of nerves. Her mind swayed with thoughts of making friends, doing lessons. She bit her nails as she packed the last of her clothes. “Don’t worry darling” her mother said with a sweet voice. Yeah don’t worry Maya thought. As they walked to King’s Cross Station she could feel her nerves build up. Her arms laced with goosebumps. She glanced at her parents who showed no concern their faces both plastered with smiles. They arrived at the wall and her parents ran through with her for support
There it was. The big red train with hogwarts express plastered on the side. She looked up at the sign above platform 9 and 3/4 it read. She looked around it was as if they had stepped into another dimension another world. The platform was laced with frantic parents and nervous children. She felt slightly relieved that she wasn’t alone in this regard. She looked around seeing older students who were used to this journey hug old friends and laugh. She hoped one day she would have friends like that. She then glanced behind her at her parents. Her father was reminiscing about his first journey to Hogwarts “I made friends for life” he said with confidence before rubbing Maya’s head.
They walked to a quieter place and helped her get her luggage on the train. She then found an empty carriage to sit and stared out the window. Her thoughts drifting as she wondered what type of life she would have, the friends she’d make and the spells she’d learn. As she looked at her parents she realised her life would never be the same after this. She twirled her wand in her hand as if the object was still a foreign concept to her.
