Flip.. Flipiendo?

The spell was on the tip of her tongue, while simultaneously farther than ever. Only last week had she gotten Verdimillious down pat, something of a bloody mouthful is you asked her. Who came up with these names anyway? Someone trying way too hard, surely. As steady eyes fixed on the broken tree branch lying in front of her, Del was determined to make it knock over. Ironic, really– not even in death could sticks catch a break around here.

"Flipendio!"

Safe to say, that wasn't it either. Close, but not it. Couldn't of been with the way it did absolutely nothing in return. Honestly, you'd think it wasn't even her wand she was using. Just backfire! Something! She'd take anything at this point, so long as it proved somewhat magical. Though as it stood, disappointment appeared to be the extent of such efforts today. As defeat settled quietly, the redhead turned forcefully on her heel, only to be greeted with a hard collision. She hit something, hard and slender. Probably a tree.

"Eugh.." She groaned, hardly paying any mind to the body she'd carelessly crashed into. To be fair, it hadn't even registered before placing a hand to her head. No knot, that was a plus. Unfortunately the relief didn't get to last long, considering what stood beneath her was most definitely not a tree. Instead a girl, with blue streaks in her hair. Scrambling to stand properly, sympathetic eyes fell on her victim. "Man! Sorry about that, you alright?" A hand was extended in hopes of helping, whether or not she accepted it was up to her.

Avis strode quickly through the grounds. The chill was seeping through her bandana, and she regretted not wearing a beanie or even that strange pointy hat thing that she was required to buy to com here. At least it would be warmer than this. To make up for the cold, she was walking about as quickly as she could, just shy of running. She looked towards the slowly setting sun, past the quidditch pitch, and a shiver ran up her spine.

The leaves were turning, blanketing the grounds in reds, oranges, and pinks. Avis didn't not like it, but she would've preferred it if trees could turn blue. Why were all the leaves on Gryffindor's side? A loud noise interrupted her thoughts, her head flying about to see what the commotion was. She barely had time to comprehend the girl flying at her, as her feet instinctively braced herself, yet she was a small girl and slammed to the cold ground as the girl fell into her. Flashes echoed through her head from a couple of days ago, having "fallen" down the stairs, and she mentally checked her body to make sure nothing was broken, like last time. Thankfully, she seemed to be in right proper function this time. What was with people shoving her lately?

Avis glared up at the girl and ignored the offered hand that was piled with charm bracelets. Instead, she opted to pull herself up and straighten her cloak, leaving the offered hand hanging. She retied her bandana before locking eyes with the girl who had slammed into her. She seemed apologetic, that was good at least. And at least Avis knew who had shoved her this time.

She scanned the girl. She was about the same height as Avis, so was probably a first year simply practicing a spell. Avis forced a quick smile at the girl.

"S'alright. You didn't mean to."
