Dark Beginnings Solo Pt.1 Locked

Location: Arlo’s Potion Shop
Solo thread.
Note: This thread contains bad language, and a poor relationship between Falentra and her father, so if anyone is uncomfortable with anything long those lines, please refrain from reading.
FOR GOD SAKE! FALENTRA!!” Another venomous roar would rumble through the building, so loud that Falentra was amazed at how some of these potion bottles hadn’t shattered over time. Her father’s screams never failed to made her shiver with disgust. He was truly a horrible man, and his choice of words, without a doubt never failed to confirm it.
“Did you purposely lay out these shelves with such lack of care. Or, or these- ” The hand that pointed from the shelves containing a variety of environmental potions that she had lined up, lifted to a selection of ingredients on a few shelves above. “These! Do you know how much money it costs me to buy these? It’s vital that the temperature- the humidity of these ingredients stay—” A look of disinterest was woven into her features as she listened. Her eyes drifted down to the shelf containing the more expensive of potions. “— Oh yeah. Yeaaah!” She interrupted and empathised dramatically. “Cause I just love makin’ you pissed and ‘avin to listen to your shit all the time!” She bit back and clenched her fists. Her nails dug into her palms hard enough to cause a small trickle of blood to drip from them once her grasp loosened.

“I don’t even work ‘ere!! I’m just helpin’ out since none of your staff end up stayin’ long enough to deal with you and your bullshit!” Falentra’s voice raised to match her father’s. She wasn’t scared of him. No matter how much he threatened her, or called her hurtful names. She was fearless, tough-skinned, and only visibly reacted hurtfully to defend her image.

The whole of Falentra’s Seventh Year had been a blur. There was little she remembered, so how she came out with the grades she did was a miracle, something she would even surprisingly admit herself. Since graduating she had no idea in what direction to go in and ended up working—no, helping, out around her father’s potion shop. She got payed little, sometimes nothing, but a roof was provided for her. Yes, her own home felt like nothing of the sort and almost like some hostel, so long she helped around the shop. The idea of becoming an auror was at the top of her list, but she wasn’t entirely sure if the effort to apply herself in such a thing was worth it, or even knowing where to start for that matter. So here she was, torturously wasting her life away.

A crash suddenly snapped Falentra from her thoughts. Arlo had, in anger, smashed a case of empty bottles and vails since his words were doing little to affect her. OI! You listening? Look what you made me do!” He snapped his fingers which brought her gaze away from the shattered glass and up to his motionless eyes. “You know how useless you have been around here recently?” He purposely paused to let his poison sink into her mind. Just get out. Go to Diagon Alley. Get me more of these. I like the ones they specifically sell at Potage’s Cauldron Shop.” He ordered, or rather demanded. As much as she hated following his request, she often just went along with them to avoid further arguments. Internally she wanted to tell him to get his lazy arse there since he broke them in a tantrum. but no, a simple role of the eyes while throwing her coat over her shoulders were given.

She took a pouch of coins and swung the door open, leaving in a hurry. Anywhere was better than spending another second with him. A monster. Not a man, and most defintely not a father.
