The Way of The British
An audible sigh of relief escaped Achelous as she finally made it out of the tight embrace of Corrine, one of three of her siblings who actually go to Hogwarts, unfortunately her signature scent of strawberries seemed to linger.Outfit | Open to all interactions
Achelous hurried herself into one of the many spacious compartments, sliding the door close before plopping ungracefully into one of the seats closest to the window, her mother would have scolded her for doing so, had she been with her.
Running a hand through her hair she grimaced when she noticed that Katrina had undone all the work she put into taming her hair, her hair that had been straight when she left her home was now back to its messy never been touched by a brush wavy.
Muttering angrily in Romanian, she left the wavy mess she calls hair alone, instead choosing to dig through her bag for the dictionary her parents got her. Despite living in England for a few years now, some words are still hard for her to say in a sentence, much less pronounce, her străbunică must be turning over in her grave.
The woman never did like it when Achelous didn't know something, Achelous's skin crawled as she remembered the woman's emotionless face. She was probably the relative that believed in Achelous the most, Să se odihnească în pace.
She snapped out of her daze and focused on her goal which is to be able to say the word Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious without, as the Americans say, "Screwing up". Withim seconds she was immersed in her book, the sounds of distant compartment doors closing in the background.Translation(s):

Peace and quiet. Was this so much to ask for? Lucian couldn't tell, and he could feel his temper rising as a mixture of noise filled each compartment, echoing and enhancing each other. It took every bit of focus in him to not lose his composure and just continue moving along. Peering into some, hoping for an empty compartment. However his patience was wearing thin, and he could tell he wouldn't be capable of handling all of the annoying sounds for much longer. He had been patient at the platform, but he was so unuse to this sort of exposure. Of being alone, with no adult supervision, and only being surrounded by people his age or slightly older. Although, he didn't quite resemble the students his age due to his giant-heritage. Even though he was 11 years old, he already stood at 177cm (~5ft 10in). To be mistaken for an older student wouldn't be out of reason.
Lucian had ran out of patience, deciding to enter the quietest compartment he could find. He entered rather swift and closed the door behind him with much vigor. He had forgotten to keep his physical strength in check and slammed the door rather harsh and loudly, but he was too much in his head to realize this mistake. He hadn't even realized another student was in the compartment, he had made the assumption it was empty without checking. A sigh of relief escaped as he looked towards the ground. Peace and quiet was finally achieved despite the sounds still being audible but to a lesser degree in the background. He took a seat and let out a couple words: "Nuw whed?" Now What? - Giant. Before continuing though, he finally took notice of the individual sitting across from him.
Fair skin to a point of being rather pale in nature. Also, blonde hair with a bit of mess to it. She seemed "normal" to say the least in comparison to Lucian for their ages. A slight feeling of embarrassment hit the boy as he realized he had entered the cart rather rudely, but another sigh escaped his voice to brush it off and ignore what he had done. Not one for conversation or interaction, he kept to himself and viewed outside the windows of the train. He hoped no suspicion was raised for the magical language he spoke not too long ago. Giant prejudice was present amongst his family members, and Lucian could only hope to hide and escape such treatment by the time he got to Hogwarts. Only a slight thought of curiosity on whether the girl in front of him had an opinion about Giants crossed Lucians mind, but he didn't have too grand of an interest to ask nor was he willing to take a risk of revelation.

Achelous has never been one to be easily frightened but when the student now sitting across from her entered and slammed the door, she nearly jumped out of her skin, her eyes flitted toward the new occupant of the compartment, almost as if she was attempting to burn a hole in his skull.Outfit | Open to all interactions
The first thought that came to mind wasn't regular normal but magical normal, his skin is dark contrasting to her own paleness, and if there was one word she could use to describe him, it would be tall. His face has the youthfulness of a third year or younger but his height makes him look as intimidating as a seventh year, perhaps he's half human, or his family has a history of tall stature.
Her eyes narrow as she tries to remember the words he said after he stepped in but nothing comes to mind, after a moment of weighing pros and cons she decides to speak to him, there's no point of the rest of the train ride being awkward.
"Bună, mă numesc Achelous și tu ești?" If she wasn't already embarrassed, she'd face palm herself. She still hasn't gotten the hang of introducing herself in English, she sends the boy an apologetic smile, "I apologize for my botched introduction. What I said was, Hi, my name is Achelous and you are?" She tries not to cringe at how completely Romanian her accent is, instead tapping her nails against the seat and looking anywhere but in his direction as she waits for his answer. She tried to fight against her curious mind but she proved to be too nosy for her own good.
"Are you a Jidovi? I believe British people call them giants, that is the only way to explain your..unique height, is it not?" She cocked her eyebrow up in a curious but intense expression, the only implication that she feels as if she said something wrong was her paused finger tapping. She could only hope he didn't assume she has some kind of grudge against them, that would be ridiculous, she just wants to satisfy her curiosity.
Her eyes trailed from the boy to her forgotten English textbook currently lying next to her, the brief thought of going back to reading was at the front of her mind but she decided that conversing with her fellow student is more important. She stuffed the book back in her bag for the remainder of the possible conversation.Translation(s):

The Way of The British
The girl in resemblance to a ghost caught Lucian off guard. He anticipated questions or something to be brought up, but the foreign language was a bit of a surprise. While his body was facing towards the girl, his head was shifted towards the window. He didn't exactly have the strongest interest in conversation as many other people his age would. His eyes would shift and display that the girl had his attention, but he did his best to not display any emotion or reaction to her first question when she asked in a different language. He didn't want to appear extremely rude, but he clearly wasn't in the best of moods for conversation. Then again, he usually isn't ever. At times conversations could push his temper that he had to keep in check. While Lucian kept an easy and cool demeanor, this was only possible by always keeping himself in check. Conversations took more mental energy than one would think in his case.
The accent sounded familiar, but not familiar enough. Lucian couldn't pin point the exact dialect besides the fact it certainly had to be in relation to other romance languages he was familiar with. Achelous? Intriguing name, but still unfamiliar. The taping of her fingers were able to be tuned out by Lucian's thoughts. He really couldn't concentrate well and already felt exhausted somehow. Yet, his attention was fully caught by the girls next statement. "Jidovi." He turned towards her, placing his hands on the table. A debate came to Lucians mind. To reveal his giant-nature or to hide it from this girl. Giant's aren't taken well in Europe. The prejudice that follows Giants has resulted in extermination and lots of innocent killings. Even if their intelligence isn't the best, and they rely on violence, they didn't deserve the deaths that came to them. Lucian himself already had to hide from his own family and not embrace his giant heritage like the rest of them to make his mother happy. He wondered if Hogwarts held such prejudice, and he did have a slight fear of word spreading out that the Allum family had a part-giant child.
Yet, this girl used the specific term Jidovi. A term used in Romanian tales Lucian read a bit upon during his studies on Giants with his fathers help. Claimed to be peaceful and kind, looked in a better light than most typical stories. It could mean the girl has a better light or even kind side for giants. Yet, there was still risk in revealing. The greater concern was more on if Lucian was going to hide all the time. Was he going to keep acting like he wasn't a giant, keep the details hidden? Be just like his family and the way he wanted him to act? He wasn't sure, and really wasn't very keen on it. A simple conversation, somehow became an overwhelming and giant decision for himself. He sighed, Lucian really didn't enjoy lying either way: "What gave it away? I could be mistaken for an upper year or even just a very tall person. Yes, I'm part-Jidovi. I'd rather we keep it a secret for now so I'm placing my trust in you, Achelous. As for my name, it's Lucian." This felt wrong and right. Lucian could feel the weight and risk of making such a statement. Yet, it also felt relieving to share something that felt like a heavy weight.
Lucian took notice of the girls textbook. The relief of making a statement made him want to actually converse for a bit: "So, any questions about Giants? As for the language and your accent, I'm going to presume you're Romanian? Where from exactly?"

The pale blonde would be lying if she said wasn't thrilled to be right, the boy could've have just not been truthful and lied to her, but he didn't. While she is a bit miffed that he thinks she would reveal his being half giant, her indignation is washed away with the understanding that he is right to be cautious, for some reason most people do not take well to giants or half giants. Once she realized that she didn't answer any of his questions, she decided not to dwell on her thoughts any longer.Outfit | Open to all interactions
"It's a nice to meet you, Lucian. That is what I initially thought but you being part-jidovi seemed to be the explanation that made the most sense." She paused for a moment. "As for telling anyone, I won't reveal your secret. I never understood the point of betraying someone's trust, I just thought that foreigners had trust issues."
His next statement made her lose her composure and smile, it seemed that he still wanted to conversate. She does have quite a few questions about giants and she's thankfully to have someone that can answer them. "I'm glad you noticed my accent. I was born in the city of Craiova."
Her happiness was tainted with the small but effective feeling of homesickness, how is it possible that she still misses somewhere she hasn't been in years. Not wanting to make things awkward she decided to ponder about a question to ask the boy, after a short second she finally decided on one. "Is it true that they reside in caves and if so, how do they survive without being spotted by the muggles? Such a ridiculous term by the way."
If her great aunt's words are to be believed, Jidovi are very tall and hard to miss, that alone should've raised suspicion, not that she wants muggles to find out. Her thoughts are interrupted by an elderly witch opening the compartment door and asking if they would like something from the trolley.
She dug through her bag relieved to find a pouch containing a few galleons from her mother, she politely asked for treacle tarts and a few boxes of something called Every Flavour Beans. After passing the currency and receiving the treats she slide the compartment door closed and sat flopped down, temporarily abandoning all the manors she was taught in favor of candy.
She wasted no time in passing her fellow student two treacle tarts and a box of the odd candy before grabbing a box of her own. She opened her own box and seen jelly beans, the true british delicacies, she happily dug out a green one and tossed it into her mouth only to almost spit it out, her mouth is filled with what could possibly be the most disgusting flavour in the history of flavours.
She begrudgingly swallowed the bean and look at Lucian in horror, Excuse my language but what the absolute hell is in this candy?! Why would a person willingly eat these abominations?" She loses her appetite for anything sweet and glares at her book as if it personally offended her, before looking back at the half-giant currently sitting across from her.Translation(s):Mentions: @Lucian Allum

The Way of The British
The tall giant boy's worries diminished as the pale ghost of a girl spoke. Worries of what is to occur from Lucian's truth being revealed had been an issue he was unsure to tackle during his time at Hogwarts. If rumors gotten out and he only supported them, he was bound to be punished by his family upon returning home. Yet, to hide his giant-blood as if it were tainted tugged and harmed the strings within his heart. "Tsird," the word heavily escaped the boys lunges in the tongue of giants. "It means truth in our tongue, and nothing should be more valued. I'm skeptical of trust, and even skeptical of you. Yet, I'd rather not lie... for now at least." As Lucian held the fear if he was going to live a life of lies at Hogwarts. Truth, honesty, loyalty. The ideals that he deemed worthy and necessary. To have friends you can rely and open up towards.
The boy nodded as the girl stated her home town. Providing confirmation with little speaking, something the boy preferred. Simplicity over the need to be etiquette or classy as some would take the time and effort to do. Craiova. The name sounded potentially familiar, but geography and name of towns was not the young boys strong suit. Slightly scratching his head, he sighed and laid back into the seat cushions to find comfort for himself. His interest did have a re-spark as the girl asked the question. "It depends. Caves typically are used as sheltering from the outside environment, or even as a way to hide from wizards and muggles. I was told that in North America Giants have adapted to the cold of the high North having grown hearts of ice, so I would imagine they don't need a cave for shelter from the elements. In general I would say a good amount do, but not all. As for not being spotted, they typically live in extremely high mountainous regions where very few muggles or even wizards live. So they can still be spotted in rare instances, but of course most people don't believe the tales saying lack of oxygen or cold can make one loose their mind. I've also heard instances where some tribes form pacts with the Ministry to provide protection and uphold secrecy." The boys tone of voice had changed swiftly. Eyes seemed rather large, and voice tickled with excitement.
While Lucian didn't realize it himself, he very much enjoyed speaking about Giant Culture with someone else. Someone who could appreciate teachings in the subject, or even just learn how cool Giants really were. He was glad to be given such a question, no offense taken and he hopes he answered in a positive way. The worries, the annoyance, the negativity he had originally entered strangely disappeared as if by magic. He chuckled a bit, with a slight smile as the girl across plopped onto her seat. Her loss of manners wasn't noticed by the boy, as he gestured to decline the treacle treats and passed them back to her. The boy wasn't a picky eater, and sweets were always a calming treat. The boy just didn't want to take advantage or have to owe Achelous later down the year for her kindness. It was also possible the boy was still cautious and skeptical of the girl and her kind and polite nature.
He couldn't help but let out a rough bellowing laugh as she displayed disgust and horror in her eyes: "Never had Every Flavour Bean's before?" Hehe.." The boy couldn't help but laugh as she exclaimed concern as if the whole world was mocking her: "The beans very in flavor of good and bad, let's see..." The boy grabbed and opened the box of beans the girl had offered him. Taking out a brown colored bean with slight smear and dots of yellow. Lucian tossed it in his mouth, chewing with a slight wince in his eyes after a second of tasting: "Hm... seems I got unlucky... Booger flavor." Perhaps it was the boys politeness, or his giant tastebuds that allowed him to endure the gross taste of most foods. Being a picky eater wasn't something Lucian was familiar with. Despite the bitter and rather gross taste and smell of the bean, he chewed a bit more before swallowing. He tossed another bean in his mouth: "Still unlucky, got mint." He placed the box down, taking out a bright blue bean and offering it to the girl: "This one is either blue raspberry or toothpaste if I recall. Each bean is a gamble."
