Missing Our Moments

Hey Em,

I’ve been thinking about you so much lately. Hogwarts is incredible, but honestly, I feel like something’s missing without you around.

Even with my five brothers and two sisters here, it’s not the same. Oli’s doing his thing as Gryffindor Quidditch Captain and Chaser, Finn’s always busy being a Beater, in the Duelling Club, and somehow Professor Toussaint’s favorite student. Jasper is completely focused on becoming a Ravenclaw Prefect and acing Academic Club meetings. And, of course, Lachy Har is practically already on the Gryffindor Quidditch team with how much he’s training. Isla is killing it as Slytherin’s Seeker and joining every debate she can, and Sophia is balancing Student Council and Arts Club effortlessly.

With all of them doing their own thing, sometimes I feel like I’m just floating in the middle of it all—this weight of expectations and disappointment always dragging me down. It’s like I’m trying to keep up, but it never feels like enough.

I miss our talks, where we could just be ourselves without all these pressures. I could really use one of those moments right now, where everything feels lighter and makes sense again.

Write me back when you can. I can’t wait to catch up properly.

Sending love,
Alaina-Hattie (or AH, like you always call me)

Missing Our Moments
Hey Emily,

I was so happy to hear from you! Your letter felt like a warm hug from home. It’s nice to know that even though we’re worlds apart, you’re still there for me.

I loved hearing about what’s been going on with you. It sounds like you’ve been keeping busy, which is so emily! As each day goes by the more I miss our adventures together—just hanging out, laughing, and being ourselves without a care in the world.

Things at Hogwarts have been a whirlwind. Classes are challenging, and I’m trying to find my footing. I think you’d love the creativity in my Charms class; I wish I could show you some of the spells we’re learning! You have no idea how much I wish you could visit Hogwarts just for a day! I’d give you the grand tour and show you everything magical.
I still find it tough sometimes, though, with all the pressure to fit in and prove myself. I often feel a bit lost in the crowd, especially when my brothers seem to be thriving in their own ways. And of course, there’s all the Quidditch excitement with my siblings. It’s hard not to get swept up in their enthusiasm, even if it sometimes adds to my feeling of being overwhelmed. It distracts me, so I guess it all works out. Right?

I’m really sorry to hear about the struggles you’ve been facing with everything, especially with your parents’ divorce. I know how difficult that can be. Trust me. Some days, it feels like everyone else has it figured out, while I’m just trying to keep up. Just remember, it’s okay to feel what you’re feeling. You’re not alone in this, even if it feels heavy sometimes. But you just gotta remember, that it is okay to take things one step at a time. You are strong and capable, and I know you’ll find your way through this. Just like I’m trying to do here at Hogwarts, keep holding on to what makes emily, emily!

I’m hoping to find my place here soon, but it’s been a journey, to say the least. Let’s keep lifting each other up from a distance! I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures and what’s been on your mind!

Sending you all my love,
Alaina-Hattie

Missing Our Moments
Hey there, Emily Jolly Jonny Johnson (Do you remember?!)

I’m suupperr excited to write back to you! Your last letter was like a burst of sunshine, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I’m so thrilled to hear you’re happier than ever! It’s like the clouds have finally parted, and the rainbows are shining down on you! The Davis family has been cheering you on from Hogwarts.

As for me, nyou know like I’ve always been such a natural at Charms, but now it feels like I’m finally tapping into my full potential! I’ve been mastering some difficult spells, that not even Jasper can ace, and it’s so much fun. Picture me, in class, wand in hand, casting spells, a serious look on my face, my wand moving with confidence, dancing through the air like a conductor leading a symphony, and then boom—it worked! I think my professor even raised an eyebrow in approval. Maybe I’m destined to be the next great witch after all! I’m starting to feel like I belong here!

I’ve also been enjoying flying practice with some of the Quidditch team members. I’m not joining the team (too much competitiveness for me!), but my skills are definitely getting sharper. There’s something magical about soaring through the air, feeling the wind on my face! Plus, I’ve made some great friends on the team.

One of them is Rina Greene, a super talented Slytherin in my year. She’s got this infectious laugh that makes even the hardest practice feel like a game! I can totally see you two becoming friends; you’d get along soo well. Rin loves trying out new spells, and I think you’d enjoy answering some of your questions about charms. She’s also been helping me improve my flying technique, and we’re brainstorming ideas for non-competitive flying games to keep things fun!

You’d love her energy! She’s friends with Isla and my brother Finn, and they often hang out together in the common room, sharing snacks and laughing about their latest adventures. I found this friendship very odd but Ils and Finn became friends with Rina through their shared interests in Quidditch and academics. Rina, being the talented Slytherin she is, often practices with the Gryffindor team to enhance her flying skills, and she hit it off with both of them during these sessions. They bonded over their mutual love for the sport, and Rina found herself enjoying their lively conversations and friendly banter.

Rina's also very active in her house's academic clubs, like Finn, who is a devoted member of the Duelling Club and Isla in debate clubs. Rina’s charm has sense of humour making her an instant favourite of Isla and Finn, which is why I heard her name come up in the siblings' daily talks so often. I wasn't so sure about sharing a friendship with any of my siblings but now I’m so grateful to have these extra connections, with the siblings. And it's nice to bond and build those relationships up with everyone including my new friends whilst flying, cheering each other on—making it a blast without all the pressure.

Annywaayy... guess what? I’ve been reaching out to Leo at Ilvermorny! You know how we always joked about our ‘Harry Potter Squad’? Well, it feels like that again! Leo is just as charming and funny as ever, and he’s been super encouraging. We’ve been swapping stories about our adventures at school and, of course, sharing the latest gossip. You wouldn’t believe some of the wild tales he has about his classes—it's like something straight out of a wizarding sitcom!

Christmas Holidays are near, and I AM COMING HOME. I am so excited. When I come back I'm coming to London and I want to hear every juicy detail about what’s been making you smile lately, and I’ll share all about my Hogwarts shenanigans. I’m sending you all my love through my thoughts! Mwah! HAHAHA!
You make everything better, and I can’t wait to hear your laughter in actual real life in a few months! I dont know how frequent I will be able to write you during the next couple months as i am terribly busy with just absolutely EVERYTHING happening, but I will try to reach out at least once. See you soon bestie boo.

Love you lots,
AH
