The small clack of the leather boots colliding with the floor bricks could be heard, getting closer and closer as the girl wearing them neared the shop. The street was surprisingly not as busy as it usually was, which was strange considering it was always packed. But, it must have been the time of day when people aren't really lurking that much. And although she had just finished up with her school shopping for her second year of  Hogwarts, she just had to come here.

Frost peered with her curious hazel eyes into the and shop. The different wands that were on display in the two front windows just seemed to be calling her, inviting her inside. Now the girl knew a thing or two about these silly little creatures called wands. No, they weren't just measly tools that everyone had. They were something very special and dear to her heart.

The girl's grandmother and grandfather would always feed her bits of wand information every time the word came up. I mean, what else would you expect from the people who ran the family business? Wandmaking!

The two older Cira's were the ones who took care of the shop and kept the family business alive. Although they weren't as big, nor as good as Olivander, they didn't mind at all! In fact, they loved the whole Olivander line ad shop. They told her that it was very hard to have to be a "competitor" of him. Nor did they want to. They just wanted to make wands in peace, while still having Mr. Olivader as a friend.

Most of the Cira family were passionate about wands and everything about wands. Heck, they even took Frost for a field trip there several times. And believe me, the small ginger girl certainly picked up a few things.

The girl opened the door to Mr. Olivander's shop, the little bell at the top making a jingling noise. She smiled and pushed up her glasses, her eyes observing all of the wands and wand boxes.

"Hello there, young Ms. Cira. Back here agin are we?" The older man spoke from across the room. The girl nodded. Admitedly, she had been here a few times. Just to admire the man's handiwork. The man chuckled. "Just here to look again, I presume?" She beamed at him and nodded again.

Perhaps the man had known who she was or who her family was. Or perhaps not. The matter didn't really concern the girl. All she knew was that she had something for wands that stirred something up in her soul.

Frost walked over to one of the shelves with a slightly open box. She quickly turned to Mr. Olivander. "Sir, may I-" He nodded, smiling at her and turing back to help out his next customer. The girl picked up the box, lifting the cover and ever so gently took the wand out of it's casing. She ran the tip of her index finger over the base of the ivory wood of it. Inspecting it a little closer, she wanted to see if she could correctly guess the wand wood, just by touch and sight.

The very fine texture of the wood and white ivory color would make it- Aspen wood? The lid to the box proved her right. The ginger's smile grew. She continued to observe the wand. "I wonder what kind of personality you have, Mr. or Ms. Wand!" Frost observed the wand as if it would do something extrodinary.

The draw of Ollivander's was too strong to resist. Who knew what inventory he currently had in stock? Or if she was lucky he might even be in the process of crafting a new wand. Maybe she could get some tips or suggestions on classes from the ever famous craftsman. The possibilities were enough to push her to the front door of the weathered establishment, the name Ollivander emblazoned across the glass window. Her hand moved on its own, turning the knob and giving her entry to a world of wonder for the second time in her life.

The shop was as lively as ever. A line of first years were anxiously waiting for their turn to obtain their own wand. Luna pitied them. Most of them likely saw a wand as a means to an end, disregarding the predilections described by their maker. Many would cherish their wand but never understand it. Few were like her and realized that wands were of vital importance, save for a select few talented individuals as she had recently learned personally.

Seeing the elderly master was more than occupied, Luna decided to look around. There were plenty of wands to be seen, all different woods and cores. It had seemed Ollivander had expanded his inventory since the days of the second wizarding war. While he had never shied away from any wood, he used to stick to the cores. That was no longer the case, making the possible combinations much more fascinating.

Luna withdrew her own wand, resting in a special pocket she had sewn in her sleeve. The white aspen wood was well polished, a beautiful sheen against the lattice decorating its base. It was her pride, her perfect match, and color companion to her unique hair. Her amber eyes scanned the various displayed wands. Ebony wood, Cherry wood, Yew wood. She was improving on visual identification.

Suddenly her eyes fell on ginger hair. The girl seemed familiar, but Luna couldn't quite place where she knew the girl from. But that didn't matter at the moment. The girl held an aspen wand in her hands. Not exactly like her own wand but nevertheless Luna yearned to know it's core.

Her boots made their telltale taps against the hardwood floor. She closed the distance between her and her classmate, a practiced skill from her younger years. Coming up behind the girl, her voice floated in its soft and airy tone. A voice taught to her, meant to beguile elegance, yet not elitism.

"Is that your wand? What kind of core does it have? Oh, I'm sorry. I should introduce myself. My name is Luna. Luna Aurelius, Ravenclaw of Hogwarts."

Taps from a pair of boots that didn't belong to Frost echoed until they began to get so close, she could swear the person wearing them was right behind her. The ginger looked to the back of herself. Sure enough, there was a girl.

She looked about the same age as her. The girl was quite a bit taller than Frost. Her platnium blonde hair looked white and her eyes were a beautiful shade of golden brown. All in all, she was very pretty. The ginger stared at her, feeling like she recognized her from somewhere. She waved it off, finguring she would figure it out soon enough.

"Is that your wand? What kind of core does it have?" Goodness, even the girl's voice was elegant. Frost shook her head 'no'. The girl smiled up at the white haired princess-like girl. "No, it isn't my wand. Um, I'm not sure. I'm only good enough to figure out what the wood is for now. It's aspe wood though."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I should introduce myself. My name is Luna. Luna Aurelius, Ravenclaw of Hogwarts." Luna? Luna! Yes, the ginger had seen this girl before, spoken to  her too. The girl was as elegant and soft as a princess in Frost's eyes. How could she ever forget her? "Oh! I know you. We met earlier in our first year. Not much after that, I think." The girl stuck out her hand to Luna. "I'm Frost, from Hufflepuff." Her hazel eyes lit up. "Oh my gosh, do you have an interest in wands as well?"

The girl could barely contain her excitement. Had she finally found someone her age that appreciated wands as much as she did? Someone who understood how valuable wands were? Was Luna that someone?

Frost still offered her hand. Her smile and question still floating around them.

"I do like wands." She let out in an excited voice, reaching out a shaking the offered hand. "And yes, you're right. We have met. In the corridor when that boy got his hand stuck in his hair." It had been quite the tangle, but they had gotten through it. "If that isn't your wand, what is yours?" She presented her own wand so the ginger girl could see it.

It had been her gift, an ornate aspen wand with a fine handle and latticework near the base. It was her pride.

"This is mine. Aspen Wood and Dragon Heartstring core. I had hoped for Unicorn Hair, but this one is perfect as is. It's served me well so far, and I take very special care of it." It twirled in her hand, a slight sheen from the polish she applied to it every day. "I hope to possibly make wands myself one day. I'm self-studying to identify woods on sight. Do you have a lot of experience with wands?" Luna was hopeful about this last sentence. She hadn't met anyone who matched her passion for wands. This could be a kind of friend that persisted throughout her entire life. The possibilities were endless.

Hey, just to let you know. Luna has true white hair, not blond. No pigment whatsoever.

"I do like wands." The few simple words that came from the elegant white-haired girl had sent a warm jolt of energy up Frost's spine. Her smile grew even wider. So wide that her face started to hurt where her dimples were.

Luna then asked about the ginger's own wand. The elgant, amber-eyed girl presented her own wand, the white wood of it a bit shiny from all of the polishing she must have done to it. The girl peered at the other's wand. It was a light colored wood, aspen it seemed, and had a lovely little cross pattern carving at the base of it. Rather lovely, I would say.

Frost smiled. "I was guessing it was aspen from the light color of the wood. Dragon Heartsting core, huh? It looks very lovely, indeed." The ginger bent down and pulled her own wand from her leather boot. She held out the wand to the girl, letting her hold it if she would like.

"Mine's cherrywood and unicorn hair. It's got quite a simple look that I really love." She traced her finger over the carvings at the base. "I feel like people take wands for granted. They don't really understand how valuable they are. They all have their own personalities."

Frost's heart swelled with happiness. Luna did seem like she had an interest in wands too. Even wanting to make wands in the future. The ginger beamed, scoffing jokigly. "Do I have a lot of experiance with wands?" She said, a little hint of sarcasm peeking through her words. "Well, of course I do! The Cira family always keeps their heirs up to date on wand knowledge. Can't have clueless people run the wand business." Frost laughed a bit.

Her grandmother, or 'Granny'  as she calls her, was always talking about wands, training her little granddaughter to identify wood just by sight. The core was a little harder for her to identify just by sight. But she was still working on it. But there's no doubt that her interest for the wooden treasures was forever growing.

Luna's eyes lit up! An opportunity! What a rare chance! Luna had no clue when she had offhandedly met Frost last year. She was glad they had met again. Frost was part of a Family of Wandmakers. This moment would be one of the few times strong emotion would emanate from the normally closed off young girl.

"You mean... your family...makes wands! Oh my god! Just...how much do you know? Have you ever helped make one yet? Do you get to see the process? What kind of cores does your family tend to use? Do you supply your own wood? Do you supply Ollivander? What's your favorite wand type?" The questions spouted out in a rapid manner. Her excitement was so intense, that her practiced voice was slipping. The elegant tone she had so often gave way to the poorer, but more natural Welsh accent, and speech patterns.

"I'm not being funny, this is cowin' lush. You and I 'ill be good friends, mi rown fy mhen i'w dorri!"

All at once Luna realized she had broken into full Welsh, and took back control of herself. A flood of red flushed her pale porcelain face. Etiquette was so ingrained now that embarrassment was overwhelming the second year girl. How people perceived her was integral to success. She could only hope that Frost wouldn't think less of her.

For once in her life,  Frost was on the other side of most situations she found herself in. Luna had practically exploded right in front of her very eyes. But instead of herself being the one overley excited over basically nothing, it was Luna. And in this situation, it was Frost's turn to be the knowlegdeable one that would answer all of the other girl's questions. And to be frank, she kind of liked being able to answer other's questions.

The smile that spread on the ginger's face was bright and genuinely just acting as a door, keeping the small girl from exploding with joy. It was quite refreshing to see such an elegant girl break her princess-like stature for her own passion. It was absolutely heart-warming. "Well, I uess I know just as much as I know. There's not really a scale of how much I know. Not as much as my Granny, for sure."

And Frost's two favorite things came spilling out ouf the white-haired girl. She smiled at her and put her own wand away. "Of course I've seen the process. It's super cool, to be honest. But I've never attempted to make one yet. I don't want to mess any of the masterpieces up.  Maybe one day if I'm allowed, I 'll take you with me to see it yourself. It's much more fun to see it in person." The girl seemed to melt in a way as the Ravenclaw inquired about wand types and such. There was just something about the outburst that made her feel more special than it already was to be part of a wand making family.

"No, my family doesn't supply Mr. Olivander, but we all got our wands from him. It's obviously not as popular as Olivanders, but we just have a passion for wands. And on the topic of materials, I have absolutely no idea who suppies the wand wood. But I'll have to ask the next time I see my Granny." Frost adjusted the frames of her glasses and peered at the other girl, smiling some more. "Oh. My favorite wand type? Um... I just really like all of the wand types, to be honest."

Luna was slipping out of that elegant nature right before her own two eyes. Frost would've guessed on the little times they have met before that she wasn't usually like this. But, she returened back to her more composed self in a matter of seconds. The ginger laughed to herself. "We'll get along just fine, Luna. Maybe Granny and Gramps might actually let me take you to the shop to see it. You're obviously passionate about it." She started. "But I have to ask, what made you so into wands? If you mind me asking."
