Task 1: Generating an idea
What is your general idea/concept for your story? What is it about? This task is looking for you to write a synopsis or create some sort of plan for your story. It can be difficult to get over the first hurdle of simply starting, so it can help to even just start by writing out the ideas you have and forming them into a coherent storyline. Some examples of writing structures include Freytag's Pyramid and The Hero's Journey, which can be useful for helping to plan your story, but you don't have to follow if you have your own ideas. This task has a word count minimum of 200, and for completing it, you can earn 1 house point.
COMPLETETask 2: World Building and Character Creation
This task is split into two parts: A and B. You are not required to complete both parts, but if you do, you can earn an extra 10 sickles alongside the rewards for each task individually.
Part A: World Building
Where is your story set? This task is looking for you to describe the setting of your story. Even if your setting is the world we live in today, it can really help to have a solid understanding of where your story is set and how that influences the choices your character may have to make. You can zoom in onto a city/town/village where your story takes place, or if you're feeling ambitious, explore creating your own world and describe how life works there. This task has a word count minimum of 200, and for completing it, you can earn 1 house point.

Who is the character(s) of significance in your story? This task is looking for you to describe the character(s) in your story. Well-developed characters can help to engage readers and make them invested in the story you are telling. Good things to focus on are appearance and why (for example, if they have constantly messy hair, why is it always messy?), interests, character strengths and flaws, and motivations for why they make the choices they make in your story. This task has a word count minimum of 200, and for completing it, you can earn 1 house point.
COMPLETETask 3: Finding Time
When will you work on your story? This task is looking for you to create a schedule for when you will allocate time to write your story. Don't worry if you are unable to stick to it in the end - even creating a schedule is a great start! It can be difficult to find the time to sit down and write, especially when you lack the motivation and have such a large target to reach. However, I find that breaking your target down into smaller, more manageable goals on a more regular basis can be helpful in keeping up the motivation and not burning out too quickly (to reach 50,000 words in NaNoWriMo, that is roughly 1670 words per day, or 12,500 per week). This task has no word count minimum or individual completion reward, but if you complete it along with all of the other tasks, you can earn the additional rewards (1 house point and 10 sickles).

Task 1: Generating an Idea
Synopsis:
Samantha Allie Liu was just a normal average teenage girl living on the dream boat of the century. The Aquamarine. It traveled around the world touring places. She'd lived there for a full 16 years, born and raised on the boat. One day, a surprise attack from Lure Island, one of her favorite places on Earth, kills most of the people aboard, leaving her, her friends and a few more survivors. They are the very few left of the Aquamarine and must survive to make it to another island. Along the way they uncover that the Aquamarine is the most powerful warship to sail, and if it's given to the wrong hands, many bad things will happen. In a race against time to stop the enemies from discovering the secrets of this ship, Samantha and her friends uncover long lost mysteries, heirlooms and of course, love.
Beginning:
Samantha Allie Liu is on the Aquamarine. She is a silver on this boat. They are heading to Lure Island. She is one of the older people in the "teenager" group. She has been here before. She has seen the front of Lure Island but not the back. They sail past the back half, however there is an attack. Poison darts fly from there and swarm the boat killing people. Attackers seize the boat and the golds, the "rich" and two silver boats including Samantha and her friends, Zia and Emma escape. Samantha's mom who is a bronze, or "poor" does not escape, but in the last second tells Samantha the secret of the boat and that she is the only one who can protect it. She gives her a necklace that protects her from poisons. Samantha then leads the boat towards an island called River Island. It is further away than the USA, but will accept these survivors who have left the boat. The USA at this time has border control that does not let anyone in. The Lure Island people also begin to hunt for them as they want no survivors.Middle:
Samantha and her friends, after a perilous journey arrive at River Island with only half the crew left, zero supplies and one of the two boats. Just as they approach the island, the boat breaks and they begin to drown. Samantha makes sure everyone else on the boat gets to safety but does not have enough time to get herself to safety. She drowns in the boats shreds, but luckily the lifeguard at River Island saves her. She wakes up in a hospital panicked and she is alive. She becomes friends with the lifeguard who is a boy and feels she owes her life to him. She learns his name is Jake and she begins to like him. After opening up, she finally tells this boy about what she experienced and the boy tells her something else. That the Aquamarine once belonged to royalty. They set out to kill the bad people on Lure Island and failed. To make the ship become the warship, you have to have the royal necklace. Samantha then realizes she has the royal necklace and she has the power to stop the bad guys from Lure Island.End:
Samantha, Zia, Emma and Jake plan to go stop them until one day, the bad guys find where Samantha and her friends are and attack. River Island is destroyed and the remaining citizens flee. Jake is also hurt and almost dies but Samantha gives him the necklace which helps him stay alive until they can get help. They flee on another boat and when the attackers don't suspect, Samantha and her friends attack the boat and manage to make all the invaders from the boat. They use the necklace to do this, but it causing Jake to be in a terrible condition. The boat has the sufficient things to save Jake and the two of kiss and feel they are even, now that they both saved each others lives. All of them then use the necklace and turn it into a warship. They sail the warship to Lure Island and destroy it. They then realize that before Lure Island, there was another island, hidden underneath Lure Island that was good. It was decided that since River Island was destroyed, this would be the home for all the refugees. Samantha, her friends and Jake however lived on the Aquamarine and occasionally on the new Island which they named Dove Island.

Task 2: World Building and Character Creation
Part A: World Building:Aquamarine starring as the boat / home
The Aquamarine is a huge, super rich boat with three different ends. The front is the "gold" side which is for the rich on the boat. It is filled with luxury and is described to have 15 fountains inside of the pool and floating chairs everywhere. There is also a lap pool in "gold". Every person has their own personal servant in "gold" and they have fancy rooms which are huge and meals that are very expensive.
The Middle is the "silver" side which is the part that Samantha is in. This part is where the average person is located. It has average food and average facilities. No fancy drinks and a plain lounge pool and swimming pool with no fountains. It is pretty decent but nothing compared to what the golds have.
The back end is for the working class, the "bronze". This is where Samantha's mother is located. She is a chef on the Aquamarine. All the servants on the ship are "bronze" and you have to pay $10,000 dollars to rank up to a "silver" and then $100,000 to get to "gold" after. There are no pools, only a kitchen, a small headquarters and shared bedrooms, unless you are a higher ranked servant in the boat like Samantha's Mother.
To get from place to place there are hatches, not doors. There are some doors, but mostly hatches that lead from one bedroom to another or to the pool. The control room is on the bottom floor but no one really know much about it, other than the fact that it is dark and musty down there.Lure Island starring as the bad island
Lure Island has two sides to it. The front which makes it look appealing and the back which is what the actual island looks like. All the visitors come to the front and have a great time, but occasionally people pass by the back and they are captured, tortured and made into warriors to help fight for Lure Island. Most of Lure Island is factories, no trees and deserted homes, except for the Dark Palace which is home to all the plans to take over the world, starting with the Warship, the Aquamarine. Most people live in caves, in poor conditions, with bad food.
The front of Lure Island is only a small section of the Island meant to Lure people to the back so that people can get captured. The people who live there get tortured most days so that they do not spill any secrets. The people keeping together Lure Island are called the Dark Keepers and live in the Dark Palace. They are a group of 10 and are the masked bandits that Samantha will face in the story.River Island starring as the good island
River Island is a little known Island, only known by a few friends making it very safe. A lot of survivors from attacks from people from Lure Island live there. These are the protectors and warriors who have been training against Lure Island for ages. It is a very small place. It is like Venice except cleaner and there are canals to get places. There are no classes, everyone is equal. There is a school in the center of the island, a pool in the east, a shopping area in the west and homes in the north and south. It is off the coast of the USA but away from Lure Island.The USA starring as the unknown territory
No one knows much about the USA, other than the fact that it is a very closed off piece of land from the world. No one goes in and no one comes out. No news comes in and no news comes out. Those who always disappear, which is why no one ever goes there anymore.The Rest of the Channel Islands starring as the home to everyone else
The Rest of the Channel Islands are where all the other characters mentioned live. For example there is Big Island, the mainland, Silver Island, Rosemary Island, Chic Island and many others.

Likes Jake. Samantha Allie Liu is insanely kind and will put everyone before herself. She is selfless and super caring. She is honest but sometimes too honest and too selfless for her own good. She is also courageous when encouraged by people she loves. She has been through tons of trauma and never knew her dad ever. Her mother and her a really close, but she rarely sees her as she works all the time. She has heritage to the royalty who owned the boat. She has brown hair and aquamarine eyes that sparkle with joy. She is pretty petite and is slim. She is 16 years old.Zia Ahmed starring as the energetic bestie
Likes Emma is Lesbian. Zia is the adventurous and energetic one filled with so much energy it never ends. She is a bit immature for her age. She is also the most empathetic person ever. However, she does not shut up no matter how many times you ask her too. Zia has been shunned out by her family as she is unlike them and was sent to live on this boat with one of her older brothers who was also shunned out. Her older brother left her when she was 11 and has sort of been a part of the family of the three besties. She has raven black hair, freckles and golden brown eyes. She is 16 years old.Emma Du Pont starring as the book smart bestie
Likes Zia. Is Lesbian. Emma is super smart, and has read almost every book on the Aquamarine. Her parents only care about their class and are super outgoing, the opposite of her. They paid to get themselves to the "gold" deck but never did the same for Emma. Emma always cared about her friends even if she does not express it much. She can be super funny and cool when she opens up though. Emma has blonde hair, is tall and has green eyes. She is also 16.Jake Harrington starring as the beach surfer popular dude
Likes Samantha. Jake Harrington is the popular dude at Riverside High in River Island. His best friend is Adam and he has a little sister named Ria. He is super caring and is an amazing swimmer. This is what made him popular. Megan Turner likes him and will do anything to be his girlfriend. On the otherhand, Jake hates her. He is athletic and decently smart, but really nice. He is very tall, has brown curly hair, brown eyes and an amazing smile. He is 17.Adam Park starring as the Jake's bestie / the player
Likes Ria. Adam Park is the player of Riverside High. He has dated so many people, but only because the one person he liked has always been off limits, his best friend Jakes little sister, Ria. He is pretty dumb but very athletic. He is also a really good swimmer but does not take it seriously. He never had the courage to tell Jake he liked his little sister. He has blonde straight hair and sky blue eyes. He is tall as well and is also 17.Ria Harrington starring as the little sis of Jake
Likes Adam. Ria is the fashionista in the school but is super nice. She always has the best style and even owns her own clothing brand at 15 years old. She is really smart and outgoing but prefers to be on her own making clothes rather than attending fancy parties like the others. She wishes for her clothing brand to be more well known and to have her line be on Chic Island, the island with the highest quality brands. She has brown wavy hair and blue eyes. Likes Jake. Megan cares about no one. Except for her best friend Bailey. She only cares about having an amazing reputation. Maybe it was due to the fact that her parents never thought she was good enough? But she was the queen of Riverside High and the most popular. Her goal in life is to be Jake's girlfriend. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and is really tall. She is 16.Bailey Carter starring as the popular girl's bestie
Likes Adam. She is a bit more reserved and quiet and usually just does whatever Megan says for her to do. Megan bribed her by saying if she helps her then she will be able to date Adam, who she likes. She is somewhat nice but has become a lot more mean. She has black curly hair and green eyes. She is 17.

Task 3: Finding Time
- I will write 2,500 words on the weekends and 1,500 words on weekdays leaving me with room in case I do not write some days and am too busy.
- I will make sure to develop the plot each day and at the end of each week check in to see how far in the plot I am and edit all my grammar issues out.
- I will write medium sized chapters so they don't drown on forever and write 1 chapter per day on weekdays and 2 chapters per day on weekends for a total of chapters 30-40 chapters for my story.
