Lost Little Letters
She turned down a corridor and groaned. She was sure she'd already been down here. She was currently trying to make her way to the owlery. And she was currently failing. She had been lost for the last 30 minutes and was increasingly more lost by the minute.
Normally she was very good at mazes. She could easily get herself out of all the corn ones at the pumpkin patch, but this one was different. This maze kept moving around. Nothing ever stayed the same.
When she had first left her common room after getting out of the tower she had gone down some stairs. Later she had gone up some other stairs and down a corridor to find herself in the same area. Only problem was that the stairs she'd gone down earlier were gone.
She sighed and continued down the corridor. At the end of it she came up to some stairs going up. The only other way was to turn around and last time she'd come down this hallway the stairs had been downwards so she just continued along.
She'd tried to ask some paintings but most of them just pointed at the walls. One particularly enthusiastic painting with a big fat pony had gone running off, but he had just led her to the bathrooms. She knew she should probably ask the ghosts but they creeped her out.
After going up the stairs she found herself in a corridor she hadn't been to yet. She moved hopefully down the corridor but found it only ended in an empty classroom. The reason she needed to get to the owlery was because she had a letter for her parents. She'd promised them she'd send letters regularly. She sighed and slumped down to the ground. "I'm never gonna find the owlery am I"

He could feel the warmth carried by the breeze as he walked through a corridor lined with open windows. The weather would explain why so few students joined him in the castle. That didn't bother him, however as Hogwarts had been everything Steven had hoped. A giant castle with maze like corridors all begging to be explored. At least that's what Steven heard, a calling for adventure. While most students were still desperately trying to memorize the location of their classes Steven was trying find the secrets the corridors held. With most classes still in the introduction phase of the year down time was easy to come by. This allowed the first year an opportunity to explore. Still decked out in his school robes, Steven roamed the castle aimlessly.
The inside of the castle was just as breathtaking as the land that surrounded it. Every turn he took present a different face of the castle. The variety of paintings was endless, the empty suits of armor seeming had different... personalities? As some danced to the music paintings played, others fought each other as if a spectacle for a kingdom. Ghosts could even be found on certain floors. Regardless of the students or not, Hogwarts was alive.
"Uh- hi" He returned a greeting to a painting as he finished climbing a small staircase.
The staircase took him to a corridor that resembled a hall of a muggle university if Steven didn't know any better. Although admittingly so it would be rather fancy for a university. It didn't feel like he was in a stone castle anymore at least. The only room on the floor (that was unlocked) was a classroom. Judging by the dust the desks have accumulated Steven thought it was safe to assume the room hadn't been used in years. "Wonder what class this was" He whispered to himself as he surveyed the room. A chalkboard near the center of the classroom still had some writing on it which drew the curious first year in.
As fascinating as it seemed, Steven had no clue what he was staring at. Before he could investigate any further the sound of footsteps approached. Unsure if he was even allowed in this room, his heart started racing. His eyes swept the class as he tried to think fast. Best he came up with was ducking behind one of the empty desks. A poor hiding spot, he felt like waldo on an empty page. Luckily the source of the sound didn't appear to come from a professor. A sigh of relief when he heard the voice of a female frustrated about being lost.
In this moment Steven realized he could do one of two things. He could continue hiding until she left, or he could try his best and help. The owlery wasn't to hard to find at least it wouldn't be once he found a main corridor. It was after all near the west tower, which was near the Common room. Alright, alright he thought to himself as he dusted off his knees and rose up from behind the desk.
"I Uh- I could help.." He spoke softly hoping not to jump scare the girl, who hadn't noticed him just yet.

She heard a soft voice. And jumped high into the air. "Agh" She turned and stared at the boy. Where'd he come from? She narrowed her eyes. Had he been hiding in here. Well. If he knew the way to the owlery she honestly didn't care.
"Ohh... umm... ok.... thanks...." She hesitated looking the boy over. He was skinny with a mess of brown hair and a pair of warm brown eyes. Seemed nice enough. "Umm.... I'm Silva......" She offered her name. Polite but quick.
It took a lot of effort to speak to a stranger. She and her sister Ellia had always had a kind of irrational fear of talking to strangers. It just wasn't good. Stranger danger. Once she knew their name she always felt a lot better. Then they weren't strangers. She did really make friends quickly. It was just hard to get through the introduction.
She was wearing a cloak with the blue of Ravenclaw on it. She looked him over and tried to see what house he was from. She didn't really like the idea of Slytherin. Mostly because she was afraid of snakes. Their animal. She hadn't met any Gryffindors yet, but she didn't think she'd ever really fit in with someone who was in the house of bravery. She was NOT brave. Hufflepuff sounded really nice. They were supposed to be kind and loyal. The best kind of friends. She did like Ravenclaw. All the people she'd met in it so far were really nice.

Steven tried to not let out a little laugh as he could tell he startled the girl. "Sorry, I was just exploring the castle." Steven explained to her not wanting her to think he was hiding from something or doing anything he shouldn't be. Although truthfully, he wasn't sure if this classroom was off limits or not, but ignorance was bliss, or so they say. Steven took a step from around the desk and quickly gazed over the girl he just offered help. Right away he recognized her as a fellow Ravenclaw student, and the symbol on her robes confirmed as much. Steven recalled seeing her at the opening feast, and if he wasn't mistaken, they shared a handful of classes together - with him being a Ravenclaw first year as well.
Although the tone in the girl's voice hinted at the fact that she had no idea who Steven was. Which was fair admittedly since they never properly met. "Sorry, forgot my manners." The boy began with a friendly smile and outstretched his hand to Silva, "Steven, I'm also a Ravenclaw." Steven said making sure the blue badge of an eagle with its wings spread was showing. The boy took a pause after the introduction and glanced towards the doorway.
"I know the way from the main corridor!" Steven finally spoke up, but let his voice trail off before continuing on, "I kind of wondered here though" he looked down at the cobblestones as he rubbed the back of his head embarrassed that he himself was lost. "Oh!" He exclaimed as he looked up and ran over to the windows in the classroom and began peering out.
"Maybe I can spot it from here!" He explained what he was doing. Admittedly it was a bad idea though based off the number of towers and turrets the castle had reaching above. Still, it was something they could go off of. Out the window he could see the Quidditch Pitch in the distance, and a tower off to the right attached to the castle. Could be it, he thought to himself as he pushed away from the window. "Adventure time!" He said in the direction of Silva hoping she was ready to get going.

She awkwardly smiled at him. So... not hiding. She felt kind of bad for assuming he was misbehaving. He seemed nice enough. Why automatically think he was doing something bad. She was glad he was a fellow Ravenclaw. She'd probably have him in some classes. She was also glad she knew his name now. It would be a lot easier to talk with him. Still not easy but.... "Umm... glad to meet you Steven....."
She frowned at the fact that he didn't know how to get to the main corridor. Dang-it. She'd thought he would really help with what to do. She stared at him as he went to the window. Weren't there like 15 different towers here or something like that. How would looking out the window help. After he left the window she quickly hurried over and peered out. Hmm. Not 15. Not even 10. Looks like 5-6 towers. Huh.
She turned back to Steven and saw that he was walking away. She quickly hurried to catch up. "Umm... which one of those towers are we heading towards....." She knew that the owlery wasn't far from the Ravenclaw common room, but she had no idea where the common room was. Real good at navigating you are.

"At the end of this hall, should be a staircase, or another corridor that leads to a tower! Hopefully it's not the astronomy tower. " Steven told Silva as he made his way out of the classroom and back to corridor. The hall had remained empty with the exception of an orange cat turning to the corner, and out of sight. Maybe we should follow the cat, a brief thought he had but decided to stick to his original plan.
"How are you liking Hogwarts so far?" Steven decided to make small talk as the two made their way towards the random tower. "I personally love it; had no clue I could do magic!" Steven explained as they rounded a corner. The new corridor presented a much different vibe; two suits of armor stood at the foot of staircase, paintings and tapestry covered every inch of the walls, and two ghosts were conversating at the midway point. The young Ravenclaws eyes lit up at the sight of the ghosts, outside of the Great Feast Steven hadn't had the chance to run into many.
"Maybe we can ask them?" Steven asked Silva with a nod towards the ghosts, but just as he suggested it, the two ghosts floated off towards the staircase until they vanished. A frown was now the only expression he had as he gave a shrug, " Well, let's just go up. The tower I seen from the window should be close."

100th post!!!! I thinkShe followed him. She was glad she had someone who had any idea whatsoever on how to get around. She did really hope it was the right tower. She'd been wandering around for a while. It felt like she'd explored every part of the school except the owlery. "Ok..... hopefully..." She watched an orange cat passing by. Cute guy.
She thought about his question. Hogwarts was.... alright. She'd made a couple of friends. Her classes were going decently well. Still. It wasn't like home. "I guess it's good........ are you Muggle-born too?" She looked into a new hallway as they turned down it. It was... strange. With all its paintings and armor.
Upon seeing the ghosts she flushed up with embarrassment. She truly hadn't meant to charge the ghost. It had just happened.... on one of her first days at Hogwarts she'd met a ghost with another Ravenclaw. She'd panicked and charged at it. Thankfully the other Ravenclaw hadn't thought it was strange and just followed her, but she was still super embarrassed.
"Uhh.... Let's not ask........" She was relieved when the ghosts drifted away so that they couldn't ask. She did not want to meet the ghost she'd charged. "Ok......" She started climbing up. It was a long staircase. By the time she'd gone up for a minute or two she was breathing hard. "I'm..... not in good shape....."

Interaction : @Silva MelinoraAs the two Ravenclaws made their way to through the castle the small talk was flowing between the them. "I'm a half-blood," He told Silva as she asked if he was also a muggle born. "But I might as well have been. My father is wizard born, but he can't do any magic." Steven begun to explain his situation a little bit. "and my mom is a muggle, so ya see they didn't really think I'd be able to do any magic." Steven finished with a shrug and grin.
His grin soon turned into a chuckle as he watched how the young girl reacted to the idea of asking a ghost for directions. "Are you scared of ghosts?" He asked with a small laugh and a smile. "It must be weird I suppose as a muggle born, you go your whole life not sure if ghosts are real, and then you come here and here they are everywhere!" Steven said with a lot of hand movement.
The boy was seemingly getting more energy as he explored the castle and found himself skipping up the staircase accidentally leaving Silva behind. As he waited for her the catch up he took a second to take in his surroundings. The sight of giant tapestry with the image of a man trying to teach a group of trolls how to dance brought a frown to his face. Steven knew where they were, and it wasn't the owlery. He turned his back to face the staircase just as Silva reached the top, and the sight of her being out of breath made Steven feel bad for what he was about to tell her. "So, I got good news, and bad news." He started.
"The bad news is...this isn't the owlery." Steven said trying not to make eye contact with what only assumed would be a letdown Silva. "But, but the good news! I now know where we are thanks to that." He quickly followed up with as he pointed to the tapestry where the trolls where now seating on the man. "We just have to go down to the bottom, go out the first door that leads outside, go around the corner and then back inside and we are there!" He explained the full-on directions to her.

A wizard who can't do magic. Huh. "Umm... I hope you don't uh mind me asking but.... why couldn't your dad do magic?" She wondered if it was a bad thing in the Wizarding World. Did it come from dark magic or something? Or maybe it was something that was like a mutation people were born with. She decided not to ask if it was that though, because whether or not your dad was a mutation wasn't necessarily something you wanted to share.
She looked, surprised at his question. Aww dang. He realized how awkward I was with the ghosts. "Uhh... well.... no but...... I was when I first met them and.... I kinda....." she braced herself for his laughs before finishing the sentence "well.... I charged one of them...." She took a deep breath and looked up at him to see if he was going to laugh at her.
She quickly looked away and focused on getting up the stairs. Steven quickly left her behind, which she didn't mind much. As long as he waited at an intersection it was fine. And besides, he was doing her a favor by getting her to the owlery.
She looked up the stairs and saw him again. He seemed to be avoiding eye contact. She frowned and looked past him at the floor as he spoke. Dang. We walked up that whole way for nothing?
"Ugh.... well you know the towers better than I do" She couldn't complain. If he hadn't showed up she'd still be wandering aimlessly, but she still hated that it was the wrong place. She listened carefully to his directions and nodded. "And then I assume we have to go up another tower..." She was fine with most of the walking, but going up the tower just killed her.
She sat down. "Can we uh... take a quick break.." She was still huffing and puffing from going up the tower. I really need to get better endurance.

Steven supposed a wizard who couldn't do magic would be odd, especially from someone outside looking in such as a muggle born. It was only natural that follow up questions would be a thing. "Well," He started, but then let his voice trail. This was the first time he actually thought about it. He understood some magic folk stuck up their nose at his family, but it's always been normal and accepted amongst everyone in the family. With that being the case Steven never really thought much of it. "I suppose it's a birth defect." He finally settled on as the logical choice. Some would probably treat this conversation as a touchy subject, but his tone and mannerism towards it was nonchalant. "Never really much of a fuss of it." He finished off with a shrug.
Steven wasn't sure rather to laugh or be shocked as the conversation shifted into her ghostly awkwardness. "You did what!?" He spurted out with wide eyes as shock was the route he went. At first at least before a chuckle followed before his question. "Like when you say charged at a ghost, do you mean like... CHARRRGEE" Steven took off forward like he was leading an army into battle. He only rushed forward a little bit before he looked back at Silva.
"Or do you mean like... you made the ghost pay you money?!" He asked as he held up his hands rubbing his index finger and thumb together like he saw in a film when someone was referring to a lot of cash.
Despite leading her all the way up to the wrong tower, she didn't complain which was something he was kind of worried about even though he admitted to not knowing where he was either at first. On the bright side he at least found a different route to class. "We won't have to climb another tower! At least not like this one." Steven assured her. "Unless you want to go to the very top of the tower, but we just have to go up two floors! The bottom level of the owlery is where you can give the owl a letter." He explained.
"Yeah, no rush!" He assured the clearly tired Silva. There wasn't anywhere in particular the Ravenclaw had to be today. For him this was all just casual exploring and learning some ins and outs of Hogwarts. "Sorry for running ahead" Steven added slightly feeling some fault for the reason she was tired. If he would've just kept at her pace, she wouldn't have felt a need to try and keep up. "At least we won't have to climb this many again!" He tried to encourage his fellow Ravenclaw. "So what's been you're favorite class so far?" He asked continuing to make small talk.
