Puck the Postal Dragon
Task 1:
Synopsis
Puck is a Plains Dragon, a fur covered dragon species with no wings and four legs. He has been working as a postal dragon for a little over a year. As one of the smallest species of dragons, he operates as a lightweight local delivery worker. This means rather than traveling the world like the heavyweight dragons that fly overhead, he works in a city and the surrounding area, delivering packages and mail within the town each day.
The story will cycle through these deliveries and the people he interacts with in a cozy story with little significant conflict.
Puck begins rather lonely, focused mostly on performing well with his job. He has little going for him outside of his work, since he moved to this community from his herd the year before, curious about humanoid society and hoping for a new chance. Despite his dedication, plains dragons aren’t the most efficient delivery people, seeing as a humanoid on a horse can do about the same work, meaning he doesn’t feel like he’s doing anything special.
Struggling with his identity in a new place, he begins to learn about the items he’s delivering and the people behind them, culminating in a sense of found family and purpose for his work beyond being efficient and making money.
Examples include: Bakery exchanging freshly made goods every week with friends, making sure they’re happy and healthy
Store owner paying back their loans and asking for extensions on the loan after a harsh winter.
Book shop owner sending the next book in a series to customers that they heard finished the first book, but hadn’t had the time or money to return to buy the next one.
Farm hand writing romantic letters to their lover in town, whom they can’t see in person except for during monthly markets

Worldbuilding
A fantasy world with multiple fantastical races and species all living together in locally run City-States overlooked by the ruling Emperors of the capitol island.
Draconic species can transform between a wild-form and a humanoid-form, making them a Shifting race. There are a multitude of dragons, such as social Feather dragons that have wings and four legs, and live primarily in peaceful flock communities and have little issues living in draconic society or humanoid society. Due to their friendly nature and large size they often move between city states in their jobs. Ground Dragons are a more isolationist species, living mostly in wild form in traveling tribes as herdsmen. They have thickly armored scaled skin, and consist of earthy tones of colors to blend into the deserts and plains they live in. Thunder dragons are a little seen species, with three sets of wings and no legs. These dragons are almost never seen in any society, as they live almost entirely in storms which they follow on the wind currents, substisting mostly on storm energy and moisture. They commonly will only land in their lives to lay eggs. Plains dragons are a furry species with four legs and no wings, that are among the smallest of the dragons. Sized similar to that of a small horse, they can come in multiple colorations but are primarily greens or tans for the lands they are from. They run incredibly fast and are among the friendliest of all dragons, living happily in large herds or among humanoids without conflict. They have friendly and expressive ears and tails, as well as horns that denote their heritage based on their shape and size.
Puck lives in Coaxi, the city capitol of the city-state his herd is in. It is a large city in the middle of the mainland, specializing primarily in farming and ranching. It exports much of the area's food and natural textiles, while importing metals and lumber.

Character Creation
Puck is a young adult plains dragon who moved to the city of Coaxi a year ago, leaving behind his herd he’d lived with his entire life. His herd lived a semi-nomadic lifestyle, settling near villages to help the humanoids with odd jobs, such as plowing fields and other manual labor in exchange for food or shelter during winter. While in one of these towns, Puck observed the joy that a family experienced receiving a letter sent from a relative that had moved to Coaxi. The person that had delivered the letter had been a centaur, and when they stopped to visit with Puck’s herd and ask if they had anything they wanted delivered, he asked about the work that they did.
He’d always been under the impression that most mail was transported by the feather dragons, or other large airborne species that could carry and entire city’s worth of mail from one location to another. Once he learned that smaller ground species delivered mail within certain vicinities, he became obsessed with the idea of getting to provide that sort of joy to families. It wasn’t unheard of for plains dragons to become mail people, seeing as they can run faster than horses, but most remained with the comfort of their born herd, or moved to populated areas where they could be in an environment that ensured they were always surrounded by friends or family. Plains dragons do not do well in isolation, which Puck had the misfortune of learning.
Once in the city he had trouble balancing work and life and making friends. His coworkers were all nice, but too busy to hang out during work hours and not close enough for after hours. He couldn’t afford the costs of the city when it came to going out in public places and trying to make friends, so he spends most of his time in his small apartment writing to his family, or picking up extra hours at work to try to make up for the fact that he came to the city without a penny to his name.
Puck is the size of a medium horse in draconic form, his shoulder being 5’5” when on all fours. He has avocado green fur along his back, with a white stomach and light tan colored mane and tail puff. He has lightly curled horns that rise from the top of his head, similar to those of a gazelle. One of his deer-like ears has an emerald earring in it, identifying his herd affiliation. In his humanoid shift, he maintains the fur patterning and stands at about 5’8” at the top of his head. He primarily wears his postal worker uniform, as he’s never had a reason in the past to wear clothes in humanoid form. He has a marked interest in unique cultures and meeting others, although his limited knowledge of the world makes that more difficult than he’d admit. He enjoys reading and writing, as well as running and dancing. He wants to support his family and branch out in the world, rather than sticking to the expectations of generations before him, but is finding that a completely unexpected life may be too much for him in the end.

I plan to write roughly 10,000 words each weekend, as weekdays don't have enough time. Work breaks can supplement the remaining wordcount per week. I'll alternate study and writing days, so I'm not overwhelming myself or letting things fall behind on top of my full work weeks.
