Giant Squid? In a Lake? PV Closed

Katherine had just finished doing her potions homework when she decided to go down to the grounds to relax by the lake. She had always loved the water and was glad there was a body of it so close to the school. She pulled out a towel from an enchanted bag her father had given her as a present for getting into Hogwarts. At first, she didn't want to touch anything her father owned but soon she began to realize that pretending he didn't exist or avoiding anything he touched probably not good for healing. She didn't want her father's exhausting absence to cripple her and her ability to learn the Magical Arts. She laid out the to sit down on the cool grass on the nice, green Scottish grass.
Katherine lowered herself down onto the clean towel and sighed deeply as she felt the cool grass under her. She slowly slid her shoes off and slid her feet through the wet grass. Back at home, she would lay by the small pond in the woods near her house. She would spend hours laying by the pond, that compared to the Black Lake, was a mere puddle. She would tell the daring squirrels stories of riding through the countryside on a beautiful white mare (Evidently her Patronus). The squirrels would listen intently and would scurry to collect the bird seed she would spread out every time she went to the little pond. Sometimes in the summer, she would dip into the clear water and drift into a trance that she described to her mother as "Like being in a different dimension". She even saw the occasional bear sneaking around to spy on the potential rodent meals. And although the large mammals had never come close enough to be dangerous, Katherine's mother always warned her that if she ever saw a bear to tell her immediately.
Katherine loved Hogwarts dearly, but she still missed her little getaway with the deepest part of her heart.
Katherine was, again driving into her alternate dimension when she was pulled out by the feeling someone was walking towards her. She noticed a girl who looked about her age walking in her direction. Katherine sat up and waved. She didn't recognize the girl.
'Strange,' Katherine thought, 'I don't recognize her from the Ravenclaw house. I wonder if she is even in my house?'

Yong had just finished whatever she had been doing and decided to head down to the Great Lake. Despite having attended the school for a while, she hadn't gone down to visit the Great Lake, or what she called it due to mishearing it at the Sorting Ceremony, the Gator Lake. Retarded, huh, Yong thought every time her mind moved back to 'the Gator Lake'.  And she would noticeably cringe, both her face and body would.

Apparently the Great Lake, or the Gator Lake, was a nice place to relax, to cool down. But was that really the case? That was the main reason Yong wanted to visit Hogwarts' lake, to prove whether or not the area was really worth it. At the moment, Yong could say it was worth it. Maybe it was peaceful enough to finish, continue or start one of her drawings?

Chill atmosphere. Quiet. Peaceful. Everything you could want when wanting to be alone. And that was what Yong thought, until she saw some blue, and some white. The Ravenclaw colours? So she wasn't alone. To be honest, there was probably multiple other people hiding up a tree but you just didn't know it. So, that would be written in Yong's mental notes.

Katherine decided to be nice. She flattened out her towel more and waved the girl over.
"Come on! Wanna sit? You look tired."
She wondered if the girl was out here for the same reason she was, to enjoy herself and get away from all the stress and annoyance of the castle. The lake gave off a sense of relaxation. It filled her with a feeling she couldn't quite describe. She felt cold but not uncomfortably cold, it was more like a crisp cold that made her alert. She felt the wind sweep mist into her face, cooling her off even more.
She smiled up at the girl in an attempt to be nice. She leaned back and sighed. It was a perfect day to be out here and there was someone here to enjoy it with her. She couldn't help thinking again back to her summer at the small pond with the squirrels and her cat. It made her feel at home.
"Do you like it here?" She asked the girl. "I think it is pretty cool, especially this lake. It makes me feel like I'm back at home." Katherine had a feeling of security. Here the bears were not a problem and the only things that could be considered dangerous were in the water.
