Interacting with @Rose Moon Date - 24/07/24 WC 310/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts The adrenaline of the game had slowly started wearing off and Mylo had decided to go for a little bit of a walk to try and pass the time before they went of to have some food. The beauty of the pitch still left Mylo a little breathless as they saw patches of nothing but white at some spots, no students, no staff, nothing but serenity.
As they were walking around a familiar face came up to them, greeting him with enthusiasm. Ash had also been exploring by the looks of it, the normally black cat looking more white than black now. And had decided it was time to relax a bit and steal some of Mylo's warmth. After the game he had decided to put on a jacket, while playing the cold wasn't that noticeable and the thick woollen jumper and gloves they had on had been enough to keep him warm with all the running and dodging, but the cold had slowly started to seep in. So picking Ash up Mylo guided him onto their shoulder, Ash immediately settling into the hood, putting his head onto Mylo's shoulder and purring contently.
"That's comfy isn't it, you little chainsaw." Mylo smiled fondly, gently scratching the cat on his head, the purring only intensifying.
Mylo walked towards one of the more quiet spots on the pitch, finding a bench to sit on and enjoy the quiet. The silence around them made them reflect on the day, and remember that the game Mylo had spotted one of their friends, Rose, but due to the rush of people afterwards he'd lost track of her and couldn't spot her again so he'd decided to go for the walk they were on at this very moment. Wondering if they'd see her again they sighed, continuing to scratch the very content cat in their hat.

The Battle of the Seasons had been fun. Rose left her sunglasses on the pitch, returning them where she found them, and making an internal note to tease her cousin about his obsession with them later. She had even spotted Mylo, one of the few people she knew well on the pitch. However, they had been on the other team and he was eliminated a couple rounds before her. As she exited the arena, she was greeted with a meow. Chaska was sitting pretty at the exit, as if waiting for her to finish. Rose laughed. "Did you miss me, princess?" she asked, reaching down to scratch behind Chaska's ears, the Silver Siberian leaning into it.
Rose didn't know what she would do if she had ended up with a nonchalant cat who hated her. Many cats could be unbothered or indifferent when it came to their owners, and Rose was pretty sure that would make her upset. She wouldn't return her or anything, but Rose was often reminded of her gratitude for her affectionate, if sassy, cat. She was glad that her feline friend was just that- a friend, and enjoyed Rose's company as much as Rose enjoyed hers.
Four years. Just under four years, she had Chaska as her friend, and yet, she could barely remember life without the prissy ball of fur.
Then, Chaska's ears pricked up, and her head swiveled to look behind her. This happened often, and as an Animagus whose animal form was a cat, Rose understood it more now than she used to. Cats simply had higher senses than those of humans, and when Rose was in her human form, Chaska often heard or smelled something quicker than the redhead. "What's up?"
Chaska started walking away, and Rose followed, soon seeing a familiar face. She smiled. "Hey, Mylo," she said, greeting the younger kid as she came into earshot. In their few interactions, Rose had also found a friend in Mylo. They shared a lot of interests- creatures, dueling, and now, as she was learning, cats. He was a more quiet company, but genuine, and sweet. They were sitting on a bench, with a very happy looking cat in his hood. "This is Chaska," Rose introduced her cat. Chaska jumped up on the bench next to Mylo, reaching her nose forward to sniff them, and then to sniff the cat Rose would soon learn to be Ash. "She's extremely friendly," Rose laughed. "May I join you?"

They could still hear the constant noise of all the other children going about their days, some talking with friends others just by themselves exploring the grounds and everything, one or two having walked in front of Mylo and Ash. But the snow in front of them was so white, footprints the only thing that disturbed it, they weren't quite sure how long he had been staring at it, the soft purring of Ash constant in their ear.
That was until Mylo noticed Ash perk up a bit, the movement making them come back to reality. Looking around they wondered what Ash had picked up, and seeing what Ash had apparently noticed before them it didn't surprise Mylo that he had perked up. As another cat had come walking up, accompanied by a familiar face.
"Hey!" Mylo said, as the new cat, Chaska she was apparently called, jumped up onto the bench with him. Ash slowly moving out of Mylo's hat, with a little bit of help, and into his lap. Uncharacteristically sniffing the newcomer not immediately hissing or anything. "I can see that." Mylo says as the cat also sniffs him, instinctively holding out their hand so that Chaska could let him pet her if she wanted to. "It's a little weird, Ash isn't normally this good with other cats, she must be very special. And she's gorgeous by the way, I love the colours on her fur." He smiles, loving the fact that Ash seemed to be making a new friend as well.
"Of course you can sit with us, Ash seems to be in a very good mood so he won't bite or anything! And you did really well in the game by the way! It was pure chaos." He says, scooting over a bit so there was room for Rose to sit next to them.

Mylo greeted Rose cheerfully, to her relief. She hoped he wouldn't have anything against her for her cousin getting him out during the game, and it seemed they didn't. Plus, Mylo wasn't the easiest to get close to, from what she could gauge, so she was glad that they were warmed up enough to her to feel comfortable with her offering her company.
Chaska and the other cat sniffed each other, and Chaska soon deemed both new people- Ash and Mylo- to be trustworthy. Chaska would openly and enthusiastically accept any pets from Mylo that he offered. The affection from Mylo was also, to some degree for the fluffy cat, expected. Her self-centeredness that Rose might have found off-putting in a human was strangely endearing. Though there were quite a few character traits that were not often found acceptable in humans that many didn't mind in cats. All that to say, Chaska was just a little bit full of herself, and openly accepted any petting from Mylo because she thought (knew?) she deserved it.
Mylo noted that Ash- that must have been his cat's name- wasn't usually good with other cats, so Chaska must be very special, and that her fur was beautiful. Chaska purred, almost as if she understood his praise. She didn't really, but she somehow knew he was talking about her, and any attention was good attention.
"She is," Rose agreed. "How long have you had Ash? Is he usually not this well-tempered?" she asked. The redhead took a seat next to Mylo, the cats in between them. "Thank you." Chaska was now gently sniffing Ash, and then looked back at Rose, her eyes shining, clearly satisfied that she had led the four of them together. Rose laughed at his mention of the game being pure chaos. It really had been. Between her cousin ranting about his sunglasses and the snowballs and water balloons flying everywhere, it was like a duel, but with a hundred people, so way more overwhelming. "Oh, thanks- you did great, too. It was a fun activity. I wish we could have been on the same team."
Chaska turned her attention back to Ash, taking a seat and watching the other cat, curiously. "I know that our teams were randomized, but what's your real preference? Summer or winter?" she asked.

Interacting with @Rose Moon Date - 24/07/24 WC 421/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts Chaska seemed to really enjoy the attention she was getting, and Mylo didn't mind giving it to her in the slightest. The hand they were previously just holding in front of the cat had now migrated so that it was giving her some more of the attention she seemed to be craving, having moved to now be petting her.
As Rose came to sit next to them, the cats in between the two, she asked them a few questions which he was happy to answer. "Oh, yeah he can be a bit grumpy sometimes. Or very hyperactive, or just not bothered at all even. It's really a day to day checking of how he's doing. If he's really grumpy I'll just let him do his thing and not bother him, and that seems to do the trick. Of course when he's hyperactive he loves to play, and biting can occur, that can also happen when he's grumpy or tired, it actually only doesn't happen when he isn't bothered by anything now that I think about it." He rambled on, always happy to talk about animals.
"And I've had them since the beginning of the holidays, I've always wanted a cat but my pa's allergic to them so we never got one. But once I got home for the holidays they surprised me with this little ball of sunshine, apparently they had gone out and 'tested' a few cats to see if there were any my pa wasn't allergic to! As they had found out that's something that can happen, and this one" he said moving his hand from Chaska to give Ash some well deserved attention "seemed to not be a problem for him. So they decided to get him for me as a present as they knew I could have a pet at school."
Rose continued to talk about the dodgeball game, which Mylo was very happy to hear that she would have liked to be on the same team, as he would have as well, followed by a question about their favourite season.
"I would have liked that as well, but we still did great! As for what season I prefer, I think winter. You can cosy up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate, and if it's too cold you can put as many layers on as you need. You also don't get to hot when sleeping which annoys me, and the snow is so pretty. You?" He asked, curious as to what she thought.

Rose listened to Mylo tell her about Ash's strange tendencies and mood swings. She laughed, sharing, "Chaska can be like that a little bit, too, but I think she's genuinely just dramatic when it comes to any minor inconvenience." They then shared a little bit about how their father was allergic to cats. But Ash, apparently, didn't set off the allergies like other cats did. She nodded as she listened, soaking up the information. It seemed like his family put quite a bit of effort into finding Mylo a friend, and Rose appreciated that. Animals could often be better company than people, as Rose quickly found her second year, when she brought Chaska to Hogwarts for the first time. It was important to have friends that were people, of course, but something about cats was just... different. And, being an animagus, Rose had even made a couple of feline friends, other than Chaska, at Hogwarts. They seemed better for quiet company, where you didn't have to worry about saying the right thing all the time.
Not that she truly had to worry about that with Mylo, though. She hadn't exactly been the most normal person since meeting him and startling him with her sudden presence.
"Oh, he's... hypoallergenic? Is that the word for it?" she asked. Rose, always fascinated with all kinds of creatures, had seen it in a book or two somewhere. As Mylo moved his hand away from Chaska to give his own pet some attention, she looked mildly offended. Thankfully, she chose to curl up in Rose's lap instead of further annoying Mylo, which Rose could see in her eyes that she was tempted to do. "That sounds like a very warm welcome home, though," she said, her smile reaching her eyes as she thought about Mylo being surprised with a cat. "Your family must have missed you a lot. Do you have any siblings at Hogwarts?"
Mylo shared their thoughts and reasons on why he preferred winter over summer, and Rose paused as they reciprocated the question. If it was based on solely memories alone tied to the seasons, Rose had to say summer. Her birthday was in the summer, and so were her younger siblings' birthdays. She had quite a few good memories from both seasons, admittedly, but her very worst memories were from winter, so that tipped the scales. "Well, really, my favorite season is between spring and autumn," she said. "I like wearing sweaters without it being too hot, and it's just so pretty outside. But between the two, I'd have to say summer. I'm more of an outside person- I like being inside, don't get me wrong. But taking walks outside is where I really get to think, and that's hard to do when it gets so cold. But I like winter, too- it's much cozier of a season."

Interacting with @Rose Moon Date - 24/07/24 WC 371/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts As soon as Rose mentioned Chaska being dramatic Mylo's gaze was drawn to the cat besides them, who was giving Mylo a proper glare as they had stopped fussing her. "I can see what you mean." he chuckled giving in to the glare and petting her a bit before going back to petting Ash.
As she mentioned the words hypoallergenic a bell went off in Mylo's head, they had heard their parents use those as they were explaining about Ash. "Yeah! That's exactly what he is, I'm not a hundred percent sure why but that's why pa doesn't have such a strong reaction to him." He said. As Rose continued talking the smile stayed on their face as she asked about siblings.
"None at Hogwarts no, I do have a younger sister Andrea. She's 8 at the moment and we haven't seen anything like magic from her yet but my parents are keeping an eye out. Ever since I joined she's been very very excited to come as well and I think may have been 'practising' her magic for when she does join. As she is completely convinced she will also be joining. I do hope she comes, she'd love it here." He answered, looking off into the distance imagining the enormous smile Andrea would have seeing the castle and the grounds in person.
As Rose answered the question she had also posed to Mylo he could certainly see where she was coming from. Especially as she started talking about being outside, as that was something Mylo could wholeheartedly agree with. If they could be they loved being outside, especially when the weather was just perfect. Reading in the shade while it was nice and warm and enjoying the sounds of nature. Although they were still of the opinion that nothing could beat reading inside warm and cosy as it's cold and dark outside, absolute perfection.
"I agree, spring and summer are better for when you want to be outside but autumn and winter are best inside. Everything has it's ups and downs. Although I think Ash thinks that summer is perfect as you always have a warm spot to sit it." He smiled, looking at the cat on their lap.

As Mylo chuckled at her fluff ball of a cat, Rose took the cat in her lap and picked her up, putting Chaska's face, slightly squished next to her own. "They say that your cat's personality reflects your own. What do you think? Are we the same?"
Rose listened as Mylo talked about his younger sister, who was just a few years younger than him. She sounded adorable, and though one could never know for sure, she hoped that she had the same chance to come to Hogwarts as Mylo. Rose smiled as he finished. "What's she like?" she asked. "Is she smart and quiet like you?"
The redhead pulled Chaska close, holding her in her arms as she crossed her legs instead. "I always think it's interesting when siblings are very similar, and very interesting when they're different. Growing up, I always thought it was cool how different me and my siblings were. Maybe just by nature, but maybe out of spite of each other," she laughed a little. Growing up in such a big family, Rose and her siblings couldn't help but figure out quickly what made them unique from each other.
Rose smiled a little. "I'd have to agree with Ash on that. I love sitting next to the windows in the library on a sunny day. Though it is pretty comforting on a rainy day." She giggled, scratching gently behind Chaska's ears. "Chaska hates the rain- it messes up her gorgeous fur that she keeps just so."

Interacting with @Rose Moon Date - 24/07/24 WC 377/200 Color Legend - Mylo | Thoughts Squishing Chaska against her cheek, which Chaska didn't seem to have a problem with as she loved the attention, Rose asked a question that Mylo had to think about for a second, not having expected it.
"I think she's a bit different from you, I don't think you need the same amount of attention she does." He answered, smiling at the thought of the glare they'd get thrown their way any time Chaska wasn't getting 100% of the attention.
And his smile only grew as they talked about their sister, and although part of Rose's assumption about her was true she was in no way quite.
"She is very smart, but in no way is she shy. She's a ball of pure energy, sunshine and mischief. She has no problems starting conversations with strangers or telling you what's on her mind, I'm not even sure she's capable of being shy in any way to be honest." He answered, remembering several times she had accidentally insulted other kids at the playground for saying what was on her mind. There was even a time their parents had to be called in cause she got into a fight for telling another kid who had just fallen off the climbing frame, that that wasn't too smart of a move.
"I think it would just be boring if everyone was the same, especially your siblings. I love seeing some of the antics that Andrea gets up to, although I don't like it when it gets her or others hurt."
At the mention of Chaska hating rain, Mylo could absolutely understand that from her perspective as her coat would be a nightmare to de-tangle, Mylo couldn't help but smile at the memories of Ash coming back inside drenched after having been caught in the rain and wanting immediate fusses.
"Yeah, I can imagine that. They should make like little umbrella's for them, as I don't think the umbrella charm would be enough for them and you can't cast it in two places at the same time. Maybe she should just wear a raincoat, they make those for cats. Although I think that might still mess up her fur." He said, having seen many cats wearing raincoats, it was quite the ridiculous sight sometimes.

Rose smiled at Mylo's answer, letting the fluffball in her arms settle into her lap. No, Chaska certainly had a mind and a personality of her own. It was one of the things Rose loved so much about animals and creatures- just how unique each of them was. You could never really get bored with creatures, because all of them were so different. Sure, different species had their tendencies- some loud, some quiet. Some solitary, some needing company. But even in that, each creature had its own traits and characteristics. It reminded Rose that people were the same way- beautiful in their differences.
Mylo then explained that his sister, unlike him, was in no way shy. She laughed a little imagining them- Andrea dragging Mylo around, fearless in contrast with his thoughtful nature. He shared that it would be boring if they were all the same, and Rose nodded. "I have to agree." Maybe people sometimes brought out the worst in each other (especially her stubborn siblings), but if she was honest with herself, Rose wouldn't change a thing, despite every time they'd fought.
The blonde boy then started thinking of ways that Chaska could be protected from the rain- how very Ravenclaw of him. Umbrellas and raincoats were pretty good ideas, though Rose couldn't imagine Chaska would enjoy either. She could imagine the silver cat with an umbrella strapped to her middle, giving Rose a glare as she knew just how ridiculous she looked. "Or maybe Impervius. If I remember correctly, I think it makes things waterproof," she explained, knowing that though Mylo could have read about it, he probably hadn't learned about it in class yet. "Do you think it'd work on a cat?" she pondered.
Rose crossed her legs, shifting Chaska on her lap. "So, as a new cat owner, what's been your favorite thing about having Ash?"
