Last minute shopping.

As summer came to an end, Meiyu awaits for the new academic year to begin, particularly at Hogwarts. As it would be her first year, her maternal grandmother, Agatha Knight, insisted on a trip to Diagon Alley, not only for the young girls' school supplies, but for some extra quail and parchment, to write to the young girl.
The pair stopped at Gringotts Bank to make a withdrawal before visiting the different shops to pick up school supplies ranging from books, uniform, capes, quails, rolls of parchment and enough ink to last someone a lifetime.
"Grandmother, I just need my wand." Meiyu mumbled, her doe eyes scanning their small shopping list.
"There's only one place for that my dearest, Mei.", her grandmother took her small hand into hers as they continued down the street, reaching a small store, Ollivanders, the finest wand makers in the wizarding world. "Ollivanders, I got my own wand when I was a young girl. Her Grandmother reminisced, her eyes slightly watering as it dawned upon her that the Knight family will have a new legacy at Hogwarts, something she longed to see, considering Meiyu was the eldest grandchild in the Knight newer age. Agatha reached for her white handkerchief, emborided with roses and the family crest, out of her pocket to quickly wipe her eyes.
"Run along now, I still have to pick up some potion making ingredients, if only your cousins were not the little devils who keep stealing things from Grandfather's stock room, we would not have this issue. I'll be back soon, just wait for me outside, dear." Agatha smiled down at the young girl once more, gently pushing her through the doors before disappearing down the Alley to complete her errands.
Meiyu looked around, shelves full of boxed wands filled the small room, an older male with white hair, approached her, smiling widly.
"That's a new face, I presume you're entering your first year at Howgarts?" He questioned immediately, Meiyu nodded, eyeing the elder in front of her, a brief attempt to understand who this man was. "Not much of a talker? Well, maybe this wand might be one for you?" He handed her a wand which in Meiyu's mind, looked very much like a stick she could find in her garden. Upon holding it, she did not feel anything. "I heard I'm supposed to feel something, but I don't think this wand is right for me." She responded to his previous statement, hastily returning the wand to the elder.
"Interesting, perhaps this wand would be better for you." He spoke once more, pulling out a light brown wand, reminiscent to the oak tree she would sit under at her grandmothers home. He handed her the wand, but this time Meiyu watched a small glow emit from the wand, this time, she felt the wand was right for her.
"Ah, just as expected. 29.4cm aspen wood and phoenix feather, though at first I was unsure it would be a right fit." He continued. "Why is that?" Meiyu questioned. "Well, typically, aspen wood aligns with those who are talkative, I did not think you were until your witty response, showing me your defiance. I can tell you are strong-minded, making you suitable for the aspen." The man nodded.
"Why the phoenix feather then?" Meiyu questioned once more, not really understanding any of the terminology the old man spoke.
"You see, the phoenix feather wands, they are extremely picky, they don't just choose anyone you know. It's rare, unpredictable, powerful, like you. I know a Knight when I see one." The man smiled, causing Meiyu to smile back. It wasn't often someone recognised she was different, not just because of her Knight lineage, but it was clear to her that he sensed she was different, a new, rare, member in her family's legacy.
Meiyu smiled, thanking the man dearly before paying with the galleons her grandmother left in her possession, placing the wand in her small tote bag before leaving the shop and waiting for her grandmother outside.
"Remember, maintain balance in all things."
