Closed A Horrible Idea To Think Of

Time: September 20th around lunchtime
Elizabeth was dragging her feet. She had thought of this recently and now she didn't think it was a good idea...but she wanted to something interesting. She had just finished her food on her way up here.

Opening the classroom door, she fidgeted, stalling for as much time as possible. She really did not want to do this but she also did not want her plans to be exposed. And she might get detention either way anyway.

Slowly, she pulled her wand out from her robes and glanced around quickly. At a glance, it was empty. She didn't bother checking the shadows. Perhaps she would get into trouble if she was caught...in fact she most likely would get into trouble.

"Sorry Divination teacher, very very sorry to do this to you. I really don't want to do this but I want to do something and my other idea can't be done yet because it'll be hilarious and it's not yet time." She said aloud to the seemingly empty room. Blinking back unshed tears, she tried to control her breathing. "You're a favorite of mine even if I've never had you for a class before."

Biting her lip, she raised her wand. "I-i-incendio." She stammered finally. Immediately, a burst of flame shot from her wand, hitting the desk farthest from the door. Then she turned around and walked back to the door.

Sereia's Calming Presence is in effect
Lunch had been the usual business, a hearty meal prepared by the elves and a good conversation with the rest of the staff. Sereia had come away with a smile and a renewed focus for the rest of the day's agenda. After classes, she had dinner and then a detention to host that involved sewing. She would need to find her sewing kit before then.

She hummed on the way up to the North Tower, taking in the view of the grounds with every window she passed. When she reached her classroom, she reached for the handle and opened the door, expecting nothing.

The last three weeks served as a reminder that expecting nothing was the worst thing you could do at this school.

What happened over the summer break? Better yet, what happened to the new generation of students passing through? Sereia had finished her first academic year (a measly five months that was mostly spent around helping the seniors figure out their O.W.Ls and N.E.W.Ts) with a detention handed out to a girl wanting to sneak into the Restricted Section of the library. She also had two others come in with dragon dung and break her crystal balls, but other than that, the year had been peaceful. All of a sudden, this new batch loved trouble.

When Sereia entered the room, she didn't expect the small girl walking in her direction. A quick glance around the classroom told her everything she needed to know. Sereia stood her ground by the doorway. "Just what did you want to achieve by setting something on fire? This entire castle might not be flammable but everything else inside it is." Sereia quickly pulled out her wand and threw out an extinguishing spell. Now she had to replace that table and whatever was on it. She sincerely hoped no student left behind a book or writing materials before then.

Sereia took in a sharp breath. Gods, she couldn't give this girl a detention tonight because Sereia already had another kid she had to host a detention for. Asking either Jane or Ruckus to take this kid felt like too big of an ask for a Friday evening; everyone deserved a break before the weekend. "This is the third time this month someone's come in to damage property, so unfortunately for you, I will not be so kind. My classroom is not a space for you, or anyone, to just do whatever you want because I teach in here- students learn in here. So you're going to tell me your name and I will see you in the Owlery tomorrow morning after breakfast." Sereia was getting faster at figuring out detention ideas on the spot, which was a horrifying realisation to have.
