Last words to parents for good
Verla rushed to the owlery with a smile on her face. Her parents had sent her a letter. She didn't know what it said, but she had an idea that they were giving her up for adoption.
Verla was okay with it if that's what it said. The Escanora's were taking her into their family, it was sweet of them to talk to their father about letting her stay, and letting her keep Oliver, her bowtruckle. She was super excited about living with Lucien and Aravis, Aravis was changing into this good kid, and Lucien was always a good friend to Verla when she needed it.
She opened the envelope with a deep breath, and as she read the first line, she let the breath out, hard.

"Dearest Verla:
After certain events, we have decided it's too dangerous to expose you to your new baby sister April. Yes, we've named her April. We've also decide that it's time we said our good byes. This is the last letter you may ever receive from us, which is okay. Just know that deep down we're still your parents, and we still love you very deeply."

Verla scoffed, but wow, a new baby sister named April.
April.
She was determined to meet her some day when she was old enough, when Verla learned more spells and such to keep her hidden, April couldn't know Verla, but, no, she couldn't. Verla continued to read.

"We've decided that we cannot keep you, we received a letter from one of your professors, and how dare you say we abandoned you. She explained that we needed to find a safe place for you. We're looking into it. We're giving you up for adoption Verla, maybe a wizard family will take you in, but we want to be normal, we can't do that to you.
With all our love:
~Mom and Dad"

Verla hadn't noticed she started crying. Why was she? She was expecting this, she guessed it still stung all the same.
Verla took out a piece of parchment and decided to write back.

"Dear parents:
I don't care. You can give me up for adoption, I don't care. I've found a safe house to a wizard family, it's a manor. So do what you want parents, but April will know me, whether you like it or not. You don't love me, or you'd never do this to me. I've decided that it's fine if you don't love me, I have no love for you in return.
Love,
~Verla."

Verla folded it up and sealed it, and sent it with her school owl, she was cutting her parents out of her life for good. She was sure she wanted to do this, she didn't have a choice either. They clearly didn't want her in April's life. They couldn't control that once she was eighteen.
She was saying good bye to her parents for good.
She was sending the last words to her parents, for good.
