The Caulfield's First Wand
The Caulfield's First Wand

Arnett's eyes wandered hungrily through the crowds of people, excited to dip his toes into this new life. Not knowing much about the wizarding world prior to discovering his own magical ability, he was eager to learn as much as possible.

"Mum!"
Arnett's twin sister Anne chimed up. Her light brunette hair slicked into perfect braids that sat on her shoulders.
"Can we please get our wands now? We've picked up all of our books, oh pleaaassseee!" Arnett and Anne were eagerly awaiting getting their wands, as their father had told them how it was the first time he felt like a true wizard. Their mum was very... Unknowledgeable about anything magical. Anne begged and pulled on her silk shirt, which she did not appreciate. Gently moving her hands from her shirt, their mother responded;
"Yes. Sure. If it'll keep you two distracted-"
Before she could finish her sentence, Arnett and Anne took off to Ollivanders. This simple 'yes' was all they needed. Pushing past the hoards. they ducked an weaved their way to the store entrance. The twins looked at each other and took a breath before swinging the door open.

An unfamiliar and slightly odd man stood behind the counter, not facing their way.
"Caulfields..." He said softly. Gingerly, he flipped around and shined a wide smile so bright, they almost had to squint.
"I knew you two would be coming!" He hurried around the counter and began searching, two at a time for wands.
"Maybe..." He grumbled to himself.
The twins eyed each other suspiciously, but weren't at all taken aback. This is what they had been waiting for. Although Arnett seemed more into his strangeness then Anne.
"Hmm." He looked at the twins, then at the shelf and pulled out two black, dusty boxes.

"For you, Miss Caulfield - 23.7 cm, ash wood, hard, with a dragon heartstring." He puts the wand in her hand and she gives it a firm swish Before nearly taking Arnett's head off with a nearby vase.
"Gosh!" Anne exclaimed, she immediately tried to get the wand as far away from her as possible, holding it as though it was contaminated.
"Alright." Ollivander snatched the wand from her hand and securing it in the box.
"Let's try Mr. Caulfield - 26cm, yew, pliant with a veela hair core."
"Cool." He said plainly. In a second, he grabs it and flourishes the wand dramatically. It whips out from his hand, dancing through the air, and impaling itself in the side of a self.
Ollivander glanced at the impaled wand and smiled.
"Sorry about that..." Arnett scratched the back of his head, but Ollivander merely laughed.
"I think I might know what will suit you lot." He nodded, jumping into action and digging through his desk, rummaging for something he knew was perfect.
It took nearly 20 minutes, but eventually he rose from the depths of his wand storage with two boxes, one rather short and one on the longer side.

"Miss and Mr. Caulfield..." He handed the two their respective boxes and narrated for each of them as they took out their wands.
Pointing at Anne, "20cm, cypress, surprisingly swishy with a troll whisker core." She gave it a wish and felt a surge of emotion she had never experienced before.
Ollivander grinned and turn to Arnett.
"For you my boy, 28.7cm, chestwood reasonably springy with a jackalope antler core." Placing it gingerly in his hands, Arnett gave it another flourish. Suddenly, magic all made sense in his mind. Feeling like he himself could conquer the world.

"Looks like your wands have chosen." Ollivander held his hands behind his back and nodded.
"You two are powerful, powerful indeed. I see unspoken spells and defensive spells with be some of your specialties."

Arnett looked at Anne with pure joy etched across his face.
This was merely the beginning.
