Abbey had just finished class and was on her way out to the courtyard for some fresh air. She was walking alone by choice, but wouldn’t mind if she met someone she knew that she could have a little chat with before the next class. Her next class was potions, a class she had mixed feelings about. She was nervous, but also excited to see what new things they would learn this time.
The first year girl walked over to the fountain to sit down. As she sat she took a quick glance around the courtyard to see if she could spot some familiar faces. She didn’t, but that was fine. "Well well, a little bit alone time won’t hurt" She thought to herself as she sat there on the edge of the fountain. It was cold in the air and Abbey didn’t plan to stay outside for long.
She had a backpack with her. A black one with a few pins on it. The girl reached for something before closing the backpack again. She had found her sketchbook and a pencil thinking it would be fun to sit there and draw a little before she left. Abbey looked around. "Perfect" she whispered as her gaze landed on a student standing by the door of the castle. She would be perfect to draw!

Perhaps a new friend?
As I walked out of the castle doors I stopped to take in the fresh air. I thought to myself, 'I wonder if there is anything good to draw here?' I looked around looking for a good spot to look around at a try to find a good thing to draw but the only good spot was already taken by somebody else already.
I thought to myself,' what could possibly go wrong?' I walked toward the girl and asked kind of softly, " is there room for me?"I looked at her hopefully and thinking, 'please don't hate me, please don't hate me...' I looked closely at what she was holding and I silently smiled to myself because to my delight it appeared to be a sketchbook, I honestly could not wait to figure out if she liked to draw as much as I do, but I caught myself before I got to carried away with my hopes because some people are very unpredictable just like animals. I learned that from my father when we went hunting for the first time in years last year.
I was becoming more nervous as time went by and I was getting less and less confident with myself as the seconds dragged on I tried just one more time slightly louder than the last time I tried, " Is there room for me?" I really didn't want to bother her if she was carried away with drawing, but I waited just a little longer to see if she will answer me.

Abbey looked up at the student once in a while, but her face was mainly looking down in her sketchbook. She was focused on the drawing and was in her own world as she drew. The student she was drawing had long curly blonde hair and was wearing a red knitted sweater with a pair of dark blue jeans. The students looked older and seemed to be quite popular as she was standing there talking to a group of five other people. The way she was standing and the outfit she was wearing was what caught Abbey’s attention and what made her want to try to draw the student in particular.
When Basil walked out of the castle Abbey’s eyes were looking down into her book. She didn’t notice the girl walking over to her, nor what the girl asked as she stood there in front of her. "Is there room for me?" Basil repeated this time a little louder. Abbey looked up just now noticing the girl. She quickly answered with a kind smile as she moved a little making room for the other first year to sit down. "Sure! Umm… you can sit here." Abbey closed her sketchbook and waited for the unfamiliar girl to sit down. Her plan when she had first walked outside was to find someone to talk too, so meeting someone new was perfect. Maybe this was a new friend?
