Aria was exhausted after a long day of shopping in Diagon Alley. Her mother, brother and her have been in Diagon Alley all day shopping for the nessacery school supplies for her start of term at Hogwarts. Aria was the oldest sibling in her family, so thankfully this means that she gets brand new school supplies, and no hand me downs!

After a whole day of shopping the Wright family only had one more store to go to: Madam Malkin's store. They needed to buy Aria's school robes for Hogwarts. Aria entered the store and heard a light chatter of all the other customers. The store was lit with pretty lanterns, and had a very welcoming feel to it. Aria headed to the back of the store where the school robes her kept. There were black Hogwarts robes of all different sizes lined up across the wall. Aria's mother picked one out and held it up to Aria's chest.

"Try this one on, Aria."

Aria smiled at her mother and obdiently took the black robe and put it on. It fit perfectly. Aria looked down at her chest and admired the Hogwarts crest on the robe.

I'm going to be their soon.

Aria looked up and said to her mother:

This one's perfect.

Aria then left her mother to go look around the store a bit herself, when she noticed another girl looking at clothing. She looked to be around Aria's age! Aria took a deep breath and approached the girl.

Eirene had entered the store expecting to see muggle type closing but instead, she was treated with an array of robes and cloaks. Stepping into the store felt like she was stepping into the 16th century and she honestly felt so out of place. Her siblings had never informed her that the fashion would be so...different. With closed fists, Eirene dragged her previous shopping backs around looking at the racks of clothes hoping that she would look like she knew what she was doing while she figured out a plan.

First, she followed the list trapping a couple of black robes and a black pointed hat, when she ran out of instructions to follow she traveled aimlessly around the store. Before she could browse however she was interrupted by a voice who sounded around Eirene's age, she turned around allowing the girl, Aria, to speak before responding. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She said her voice soft with practice. "I am also going to Hogwarts and I was just looking around at the fashion..." her eyes swept around the room before returning to the girl, "But the problem is I'm a err...what you call muggle raised and I don't understand the fashion. Would it be too much if I asked for help from you?"

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am also going to Hogwarts and I was just looking around at the fashion... But the problem is I'm a err...what you call muggle raised and I don't understand the fashion. Would it be too much if I asked for help from you?

Aria had never really spoken with a muggle-born before. Having lived in the wizarding world her whole life, she never really had the chance to. Of course she had been too Diagon Alley and public wizarding areas where muggle-borns were, but she never actually had an interaction with one.

Of course you can ask for my help. I'm sure growing up in the muggle world and then coming to the wizarding world is a difficult change.

Aria couldn't even imagine what it must be like. What if Aria had to move into the muggle world? She wouldn't know where to start!

Well, if you're going to Hogwarts, you're going to need plain black work robes. And once you get to Hogwarts and get sorted into your house, you will get your house uniforms.

Aria thought for a moment. Does this girl even know the Hogwarts houses? Being muggle-born and all, how could she know the houses if someone hasn't already told her.

The houses at Hogwarts are Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor. They all have their own colors, which are printed on the uniform you will get. Does that make sense?

Aria smiled to the girl, hoping that what she was saying made sense.

The words "Of course you can ask for my help." Sent a soft sigh of relief out of Eirene's lungs pushing her to the balls of her feet as she straightened her back attempting to appear less nervous and more put together. As she listened to Aria she couldn't help but compare it to her upbringing in the muggle world she had never gone far from home but she knew her siblings had gone to boarding school. The entire concept of "school" was foreign and utterly bizarre to the young girl leading to her listening intently to the brunette.

She was a little dismayed at the sound of plain black robes what if she wanted a pop of color in her attire if her father heard of this she would have said she dressed like a widow. "Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor..." She repeated letting the words roll off her tongue she was familiar with Ravenclaw as her siblings had gotten into it, and was surprised to hear that every student got a house. She had assumed it was given to students with some type of academic valor or whatever. "Do you have to buy the house-colored uniforms afterward or are they provided by the school?"

Eirene felt a little stupid that she had asked that question but it was too late to take it back so she stuck with it. Besides she genuinely wanted to know the answer.

This was a great question that Aria had already thought about earlier in the day. Aria's mother was a Hogwarts alumni, so thankfully, she has all the answers to Aria's questions about Hogwarts.

That's a good question. I was confused about that as well. But my mother told me that after we are sorted, our colored uniforms are in our dorms ready to go. Isn't that exciting?!

Aria smiled at the girl, and then noticed that she still didn't know the girl's name.

My name is Aria by the way. Aria Wright. What's your name?

Aria continued scanning the racks of standard black robes to find more in her size. She need multiple robes, in case some got dirty. She looked around and finally found another robe that was perfect for her size. She smiled as she ran her hand over the Hogwarts crest that was sewn onto the robe. She saw the four houses on the crest, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw. Aria wished so so terribly that she would be placed into Ravenclaw, since her entire family was in Ravenclaw. She had to make them proud and continue the legacy.

Eirene was glad she wasn't the only one curious about how their special robes would arrive. It was like her laundry would have been dirty one second and then appear in her closet the next day, ironed and folded. "My name is Eirene Tilbury, please just call me Eirene." There was no need for formalities when she was in the presence of her schoolmates or that's what her sister always told her. Besides Eirene enjoyed being called by her first name as it always reminded her of her namesake.

She watched as Aria flipped through the clothing rack quietly standing beside her almost distracted by the rhythmic sound of Aria's searching. "I want to be placed in Ravenclaw" Eirene lifted her head staring at the ceiling as she began to dive into her memory. Her thought brother had been sorted into a house called Slytherin although she wasn't quite sure, while her sister had been placed in Ravenclaw. "My sister is in that house and...I think it would be nice to be placed together. But I don't think I'm smart enough to get in."

Aria smiled at Eirene Tilbury. This was a nice name for a nice girl.

I want to be placed into Ravenclaw. My sister is in that house and...I think it would be nice to be placed together. But I don't think I'm smart enough to get in.

Aria knew all to well this feeling. All she wanted to do when she gets to Hogwarts is be sorted into Ravenclaw and enjoy the feast with her new Ravenclaw family. Aria's entire family was put in Ravenclaw, and she was terrified that she would not get into the house. If she didn't get in, she would be a disgrace to her family name. Aria knew that her family loved her, but not getting into Ravenclaw would defiantly be the ultimate test.

Aria considered what Eirene had said. She thought she wasn't going to be smart enough to get in. Aria related to this statement so much.

hey! I really want to get into Ravenclaw too! I often wonder if I'm not smart enough either though...

Well this wasn't a very cheerful thing to say. Aria instantly her tone of voice, and the subject. This "hoping to get into Ravenclaw" conversation was making her even more nervous.

But I bet we will both get in. We are both super smart, I just know it. Anyways, I think I have all my black school robes. I'm thinking I am going to go shop in a more fun section. I'm thinking about buying some blue robes for the rainy days at Hogwarts. Would you like to join?
