Private Rp between Anastasia Beckett and myself
Darci couldn’t believe that she was finally going to attend Higwarts like her older brothers. Her enthusiasm was never ending as she rand forward and back towards her family repeatedly as they were approaching the platform, 9 3/4. “Darci slow down please, you know I don’t know where I’m going. You’re mother was always good at navagations.” Her father yelled as she ran ahead once more, forgetting that her father was muggle born. He’d never been any good at directions, and keeping track of Darci was like trying to leach a cheetah. “But Papa, I can’t contain my excitement! Everything is already so wonderful. The smell of Iron and Coal is intoxicating. Being here is just like a fairytale that I never want to wake up from.”
Darci approached her elder brother who had arrive earlier than them to get them a good spot to say goodbye. His face lit up one he saw his younger sister sprinting toward in in her new robes. He was so proud of her. Knowing she was going to make a great witch filled him with so much joy. “You finally diceide to show up. You had me worried D. I was afraid that you’d miss the train and not be eledgible to attend until next year.” Darci pouted once she reached her brother. “Like bloody hell I’d miss the train.” A sharp pain ran through her head. Her eyes grew as she realized that she’d cursed in the presence of their father. “Darci Maree. You watch your language. Now, you stay out of trouble. And remember that no matter what house you’re shorted into, we’ll alway love you.” Darci wished more than anything that that were true. She knew that the pressure was on for her to be sorted into Slytherin. Her family was full of only Snakes. Nothing else was acceptable. “Yes papa, I know. I promise to send you an owl once we arrive.” Darci gave her father a hug and kiss goodbye before boarding the train.

Anastasia was absolutely, positively thrilled to finally be starting at Hogwarts, but anyone watching her wouldn’t be able to tell. She walked at an even pace with her mother and father and their house elf pushing her cart behind them. Her mother was joking, a rare event, about how they would smuggle her a broomstick by shrinking it down and mailing it to her in their first letter. She laughed at it, but made sure to cover her mouth as she did so. Even now, her parents expected nothing less than perfectly proper behavior, and she wasn’t about to disappoint them. Her aunt, uncle, and cousins joined them, and Anastasia walked ahead, beginning a quiet conversation with her older cousin, Lydia, like she knew she should. Although she would never admit it, she didn’t particularly like Lydia. She like Lydia’s brothers alright, but Lydia was a bit of a snitch and rather rude when she wasn’t around her parents. “Anastasia, look at all the muggles and mudbloods here!”her cousin exclaimed, motioning towards a particularly confused looking family. Anastasia was a bit surprised at her cousin’s use of that phrase. Anastasia had been told not to say it outside the house since some people found it offensive. The group reached the train and she turned to her parents. “Be sure to write us right away,” her mother said as she hugged her in a very rare display of affection. “I will, mother”she promised as she climbed onto the train with her cousins.

Darci ran through the hall of the train, pushing her way past other students, new and old alike trying to find her brother and his friends. Mumbling a few apologies along the way she finally found her brother in a room that was full. “Oh, I’m sorry D, guess we won’t be riding together on this ride.” Darci frowned. Her brother wasn’t sorry. He seemed relieved givin his tone as he spoke to her. Her smile disappeared for only a fraction of a second. “It’s alright. I saw an empty room a bit back. Just, meet up with me after the sorting ceremony?” Her words were downed out by their brothers friends as they all began to talk to one another about their plans for their last year at the school.
Sighing, Darci turned around and headed straight for the compartment that she had seen earlier. To her surprise and dismay, it was still empty. Sighing with disappointment, she entered, taking a silent seat next to the window. Slowly she got lost in thought, about nothing in particular, that she hadn’t heard the knock in the door. It wasn’t until she realized that they were moving and seeing a young girl’s reflection in the glass of the window that she finally snapped back to reality. Jumping up and dusting off her skirt she smiled kindly toward the girl. “Forgive me. I was lost in thought. Please come in, I’m all alone.” Darci motioned for you girl to come in. She was mesmerized by her beautiful brown hair. The way that she carried herself like it had been drilled into her dry a very, young age. Everything about the girl screamed NOBILITY. Subconsciously Darci began to twirl an small strand of her raven hair, her emerald eyes fixating on her shoes.

Anastasia followed, or more accurately, was dragged by her cousin down towards the end of the train. They reached a compartment that was full of what Anastasia assumed to be Lydia’s friends. There was a scary thought- spending an entire train ride with Lydia and her friends who were exactly like her. “Lyd? I have to use the loo ,” Anastasia told her cousin, already moving to the door. “Oh, really?” her cousin said, sounding irritated. “We haven’t even left the station yet.” Anastasia cringed a bit, thinking quickly to avoid spending the train ride with this lot. “I meant to go before we left, but I forgot,” she said, sounding very innocent. Without waiting for a response, she exited it the cabin, briskly walking at first, then bolted into a full out run until she reached the end of the compartment. Her mother would sorely disapprove of her running like that, but she would never have to know. She began to walk back up th aisle after smoothing her hair and dress so she looked as neat as normal, glancing in windows, looking for ideally an empty or at least one with someone she didn’t know. When she found one such cabin, she tapped gently on the door before pushing it open. “Oh, don’t worry about it,” she said kindly. Again, her mother wouldn’t like her associating with someone who could very well be a mudblood, but she would never have to know. She entered the cabin and shut the door behind her. Sitting down across from the other girl, she smiled and introduced herself, “I’m Anastasia Beckett. I’m going to be a first year this year. What about you?”

Darci’s smile quickly returned. “Really? Me too? I’m Darci Whitman. It’s a pleasure to meet you Anastasia.” Darci shook her head, Anastasia was way to long. “You wouldn’t mind if I called you Ana would you? Anastasia is a bit to long for my liking. If you don’t mind me asking, are you A Pureblood?” Darci had always been curious about the other blood statistus. Growing up in the muggle world, Darci didn’t know any Purebloods. But guessing how Ana carried herself, Darci could only guess that she had to be Pureblooded. No doubt about it. Bing a Half-blood herself she at least knew how Muggle borns felt when they were teased by others.
By now the train was in full motion towards the school and every student had found a place to be. Thankfully, it was just the two girls in that one compartment. Darci tried to sit up straighter, hoping to empress Anastasia with her manners. “You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to. I’m just a curious child. My mother always used to tell me that “curiosity often leads to trouble” sometimes I think she was right.” Darci rubbed the back of her neck, chuckling softly yet sheepishly.

She smiled at the girl’s question. She had actually tried to get her parents to call her Ana a few years back, but they had said that shortening a perfectly good name was foolish and low class, so she had dropped it. “Not a bit,” she said. She was certainly in a rather rebellious mood today. She knew if Lydia was here, she’d definitely snitch to their parents, which was why she’d abandoned her.You wouldn’t mind if I called you Ana would you? Anastasia is a bit to long for my liking.
Anastasia laughed softly at the girl’s exuberance and smiled again. “No, I don’t mind at all. I am, in fact a Pureblood. I take it you aren’t?” she didn’t mean it was an insult or anything, but the she knew all the purebloods who cared about that sort of thing, and the ones who didn’t wouldn’t ask about someone’s blood status. If she had to guess, she would say this girl was a half blood. She knew enough about the wizarding world that she had to at least have one parent who knew about it. She laughed a little inwardly when she saw the girl’s posture straighten. Anastasia’s was so perfect that it was almost stiff looking and unnatural. Almost.“You don’t have Ron answer that if you don’t want to. I’m just a curious child. My mother always used to tell me that “curiosity often leads to trouble” sometimes I think she was right.”

Darci smile happy that Ana allowed her to shorten the name. “Indeed, I am a Half-blood. My mother was pureblood while my father is a muggle.” Sighing out of discomfort, Darci slouched slightly. “I don’t get how you’re able to sit so straight. It’s painful.” She’s given up on trying to me impressive. She only had to be herself to make a friend. If Anastasia didn’t like her for her then it wasn’t meant to be. Darci began to think back to her mother. She missed her dearly. Not thinking about it, Darci gripped the ice blue crystal that hung around her neck. Mentally singing the lullaby her mother would always sing.
“So what house are you hoping to get sorted into? I’m praying for Slytherin. My moms family all hailed from there, and so did all three of my brothers, we’ll Tanner is in his last year.” Not realizing what she’s was doing, Darci began to ramble on about different subjects, but sticking mainly with the sorting that was quick approaching the girl’s at a rapid pace. Before the night has ended, the two girls will have been sorted into the house that beat suits them. Darci prayed that it was Slytherin, but she knew that she didn’t display any if the Slytherin qualities. She had suppressed those thoughts though, keeping them under a mental lock and key.

Anastasia wanted to ask a bit more about the girl's family, but couldn't really think of a way to that would still be proper, so she let the subject drop. It wasn't really any of her business and the girl would say what she wanted Anastasia to know. It was the same way Ana had told her that her family was pureblooded, but hadn't mentioned that her parents were extreme purists or that one set of her grand parents had been death eaters. She actually giggled at the girl'd comment about sitting straight, her first actual laugh, not one of her well rehearsed, quiet, delicate little laughs. She cleared her throat afterwards though, trying to get more of a hold of herself. She thought, or rather hoped, that the girl hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Even though Darci was a Half blood, and Ana's parents would probably think she wasn't worth spending time speaking to, even if Ana wasn't worried about somehow insulting someone important, she still needed to behave well at all times.

Oh, I'm dearly hoping for Slytherin as well," Anastasia told her. "My entire family has always been Slytherin, so I'd love to continue that." It seemed cleared to Anastasia that there was no other possible house for her. She was very bright and hard working, but being a Ravenclaw would bore her. The other two houses weren't even worth mentioning because she knew there was absolutely no way she would end up in one of them.“So what house are you hoping to get sorted into? Darci had caught Ana's laugh and cover up. She wished that Ana wouldn't try to remain proper. She visibly smirked. That's her task for the next six years. She was going to make Ana a common girl. "Well, now that those questions are out of the way, how about we do twenty questions? To get to know one another? It'd be wonderful if both of us were sorted into the same house. I believe that we'd both have a grand time."
Darci leaned forward slightly when a knock on her door slid open to reveal her elder brother, Tanner. His shaggy brown hair fell perfectly framing his face and accenting his ice blue eyes. "Darci Maree, what are you doing? You were suppose to stay with me with the Slytherins. You're an idiot." Darci bit her lip. Her brother had never called her that before. Slowly, Darci stood up and walked to her brother. "Guess we'll have to play that game another time, Ana. Sorry, I couldn't stay." Walking out of the compartment, Darci and Tanner had passed your cousin and Tanner pointed into the room. "The kid's in there. Talking with my idiot of a sister." Darci was flabbergasted. Her brother was so kind to her at home. He even supported her when she first learned she could do magic. Now? He was breaking her heart. He turned cruel and dismissive. This wasn't what she was expecting a Slytherin to be.

Anastasia smiled and nodded at the girl’s suggestion. It wasn’t exactly a Beckett way to get to know someone, but it sounded alright to her. She wouldn’t volunteer too much information, and she would learn a bit about this girl and see if she was a potential ally. She seemed like a decent candidate so far, if a bit hyper.
She scooted forward so she was perched on the edge of her seat when she heard a knock. She glanced at the door and saw it slid open to reveal an unfamiliar older boy. She scowled when the boy called Darci an idiot, and debated whether or not to say something to him. She knew her parents wouldn’t want her to bother with other peoples’ family drama, but she’d also grown up knowing you didn’t treat your family like that in public. Not even your snotty cousin. You could do and say what ever you wished behind closed doors, but in public, you were a united front.

Anastasia stood and drew herself to her full 4’8”, and shot him a loathing glare. It was enough to warrant respect from other purebloods who were older than her, so she knew it was at least draw the attention of this boy. “First of all, I am a Pureblood from a long line of purebloods, so I highly resent being called ‘the kid’, and second, are you really going to treat your sister like that?” she said, her voice calm but extremely cold, like her mother’s when she was in trouble.
