Little Sister
Daniel seals it and sets it aside. He cleans his nib again, and starts a new letter, this time to his sister, in an effort to set her mind at rest.
Dear Emly,
Hope you're all right. Hogwarts is brilliant—just like the stories Dad told us. I got put in Ravenclaw, and I think you'd really like it here. The view of the mountains from the common room is the most amazing thing.
There are so many interesting people here, but still I prefer to spend some time just by myself. I've been thinking a lot about home, especially about the times we practiced magic together. I can hardly wait to show you what I've learned when I come back.
Take care and don't let Mum and Dad worry too much. I miss you.
