Azrael found that carrying his trunk himself was a hassle. It didn't matter much though as he hailed it onto the Express. He looked around, the small corridor filled with doors leading to compartments. It looked like any other train he'd read in his mother's tales. Small and cramped, uncomfortable in comparison to most things he's been in till now, at least that's what he's been told. But it is in trains like that where most stories started or the characters met each other. Azrael of course knew that everything didn't happen like in the stories, but the Hogwarts Expressed seemed magical enough to be story-like. Then again, he hadn't seen any other trains to judge that.
Tugging his trunk along, once again somewhat regretting not accepting any help from his parents, he walked along the corridor, squeezing past the two other students who passed him. He peered into the glassed doors, finding some of the compartments to be already occupied despite how early it was. He stopped in front of one, almost opening the door before pausing. He really wanted to speak to someone, any student close his age, really. But the moment he tried to approach an unfamiliar feeling squeezed at his chest, making him pause and rethink the decision. Sighing quietly to himself, he readjusted his grip on the trunk again, dragging it along to the end of the corridor, this time without checking the compartments. He was right to assume the one of the far end was free. He walked in and let the door slide closed behind himself. The room was fairly small, but he was pretty sure it could easily fit four people inside. He reached out, touching the velvet of the seat with his hand, a strange kind of wonder filling him. They didn't feel like the chairs at home and that was weirdly pleasing. He didn't delve on that long, looking up at the space over the seats for the trunks.
After struggling with that for a while, Azrael simply gave up. He couldn't get the trunk up there even if he tried and he didn't know of any spell to help him. He had tried to remember anything his parents did, but they really avoided doing any magic in front of him. He had settled the trunk on the space of the couch next to him. Next, he looked out of the window, watching as parents and students bustled about the platform. Not seeing his parents, he felt almost disappointed, which he really didn't get. He had asked them to leave himself, after getting to the platform. Sitting back down on the couch next to the trunk, he pulled out his wand. It was rather long and thin, his mother had called it 'elegant'. He himself was just eager to learn how to use it properly. Leaning back into the seat, he fiddled with the wooden, well, stick, in his hands, trying to imagine how the castle of Hogwarts would look on the inside.
