Closed  Muggle AND Wizarding Money?  OPEN
Genevieve walked up to the counter of 'Potage's Cauldron Shop' with the school supplies which the shop sold. The man at the counter looked down his spectacles at Genevieve's supplies.
"That will be 16 sickles and 26 knuts" he said in a drone like voice.
Genevieve burrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "What are sickles and knuts?"
"Oh, you're a muggle born, aren't you?" he replied in an exasperated voice. "You'd best go and put those back and swap your muggle money for wizard money at Gringotts."
So Genevieve put her supplies back on the shelves and headed towards a large, white stone building with the words 'Gringotts Wizarding Bank' engraved on top of the entrance which was held up by some marble pillars. Inside the humongous building their were sets of desks that ran down the sides of the hall. Sitting on stools behind the counter were short creatures who sort of looked like a human then also didn't look like a human. The creatures had large ears and were even smaller than Genevieve. Their skin was very pale, they had dome shaped heads and their fingers and feet were quite long and lengthy.
Genevieve walked up to the counter and addressed the creature saying "Um, excuse me, please may I swap my muggle money for some wizard money?"
"Certainly! Just hand over the amount wanted and I'll go get the exchange." replied the creature.
Genevieve handed over nearly all my money, leaving just enough to afford the bus back home. The creature took the money and bent down under the counter to get the exchange.
As Genevieve left the wizarding bank she opened the bag which the creature had given her in return for her muggle money. Inside there were different coins, the biggest ones were gold and had a dragon printed on them and on the top of the coin was the word 'galleon' engraved on top; the medium sized coins were silver with the word 'sickle' engraved on top with a creature that looked a little like a dragon but wasn't; the smallest coins were bronze and had a goat on them with the word 'knut' on the top.

Hannah stands outside Gringotts Bank with a mission. Her mother told her she had to extract the money from the bank, alone. She had never done it before so she was quite nervous. She steeled her nerves, took a deep breath, and walked into the bank. It seems so much bigger without her mother and father beside her. Timidly she walked down the enormous hall, her shoes loudly squeaking on the newly polished floors. "Um... excuse.. excuse me, sir." Hannah stutters, "I would like to make a withdrawal." The goblin, sounding bored, said in a monotone voice, "Do you have your key?" "Yes! Yes sir! I have it right here!" "Ok." The goblin pulls a lever that Hannah hadn't noticed before. Suddenly, another goblin appears and whisks Hannah into a cart that hurdles downhill the second she sits down, the wheels squealing and sending sparks flying the entire ride.
For a moment Hannah thought that she heard a dragon roaring in the distance but decided it was her imagination. After all, who would be unethical and cruel enough to keep a dragon down in the depths of the earth when they should be free? In mere minutes Hannah was transported hundreds of feet underground. As Hannah rubs her ears which are very sore from popping, the goblin taps his toe. "Come on! We don't have all day!" Hastily, Hannah retrieves her key from her small clutch bag and hands it to the impatient goblin, trying not to spew her lunch everywhere. The goblin opens the vault. Hannah reaches into the vault and grabs 8 gallons, 15 sickles, and 13 knuts, quickly putting them in her clutch bag.
When the cart reaches the ground floor again, Hannah blinks rapidly attempting to see in the bright light that contrasted vastly with the dark dim light in the vault area of the bank. Not seeing where she is going Hannah runs into someone causing them to spill their money everywhere. Her eyes adjust to the light Hannah sees a young girl who appears to be about the same age as herself. "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry!" Hannah cries. "I wasn't looking where I was going!" Both girls crouch and start picking up the coins spilled in the collision. "I'm Hannah Nelson," Hannah says trying to start a conversation, "I'm eleven years old and I'm starting my very first year at Hogwarts!" The girl smiles and says, "I'm Genevieve Driver! I'm going to Hogwarts as well!" Both girls exchange smiles. "I'm going school shopping," Hannah invites. "Would you like to join me?" "That sounds wonderful!" Genevieve exclaims. The girls, having finished picking up the coins, jump up and walk to their first shop (Potage's Cauldron Shop), laughing and talking the whole way there.
