Finding a new empty seat
Date: 1st September 2024
Speech: “Abbey’s speech”
WC: 339/200
Outfit:ReducioA red sweater with a white t shirt underneath. Baggy light blue jeans and a pair of old black converse. Her hair is in a beautiful Scandinavian styled braid.
Abbey walked down the aisle of the train in the opposite direction of the compartment she had just come from. She had left it because she thought she saw someone she knew walk by and wanted to sit with her instead. She wanted to thank the person she thought she recognised, and get to know her better by sitting with her on the train. The girl had helped Abbey get to the station and if Abbey hadn’t meet her she probably wouldn’t have made it to the station on time before the train left. The girl Abbey thought she recognised had gotten out of the girls sight and Abbey couldn’t seem to find her again. Meaning Abbey was now on a lookout for a new empty seat. Abbey felt too embarrassed to go back to the compartment she had just been sitting in.
Abbey walked with her big old suitcase in her left hand. The train had just left the station for not too long ago, so it was important that Abbey found a empty seat so she wouldn’t have to stand in the aisle of the train with her heavy suitcase for the rest of the ride. She also wanted to have someone to talk to on the ride, not be all alone. Abbey looked through the glass doors for an empty seat in the compartments she walked by. She couldn’t see any empty seats and it became less and less compartments as she walked and that stressed her.
When she was only some compartment away from the end of the train she spotted an empty seat. She knocked carefully on the compartment door, not wanting to interrupt anyone. She opened the door before anyone answered. “Hi, can I sit?” she smiled wildly at the people/person in the compartment.

Finding a new empty seat
Speech: “My name is Bond. James Bond. Just kidding, it’s James Hawthorne.”
It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and it just so happened to be the day on which I departing to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express. I had spent many hours this week packing for my long stay at the magical school, and I had spent a few more yesterday making sure that everything was packed, and that nothing was being left behind. It was important that I made sure, because if I left something important behind, then I wouldn't be seeing it until December when I would be coming back home.
The drive to Kings Cross was around two and a half hours from home, according to Google Maps, but it was the least of my worries for the day. The big gun was the ride to Hogwarts which would take over three times as long. But I came prepared, at ten o'clock no less, just to guarantee myself a good seat. I had manged to load all of my luggage into an empty compartment, which took up a full shelf above one of the seats, leaving any remaining people I would be riding with with only the space of the other shelf. After that, my parents and I took a walk around the area surrounding the Kings Cross, and bought ourselves some ice-cream along the way which we enjoyed over a bit of conversation about how good it was, as well as other ice-creams we liked.
Before I knew it, it was five minutes to eleven, so it was time for me to go back to the train, lest I miss it and get neck deep in a very unfavorable situation. When my parents and I came back to Platform 9 It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and it just so happened to be the day on which I departing to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express. When my parents and I came back to Platform 9 3/4, I hugged them both and kissed them goodbye before departing from them and going back to my compartment, which I was surprised had no additional luggage or people in it. To pass the time for now, I took out a rubik's cube and began practicing shuffling it in certain ways and then solving it, with the goal being to make it look like I was solving a cube in a few seconds, something that was very useful for certain magic tricks.
As I did this, the train departed from the platform, and I was left to myself as I worked on my skills of solving a rubiks cube that I pretended to mix up. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the compartment door. I turned, and before I could even say anything, the door was slid open by a girl with brown hair. So much for knocking. “Hi, can I sit?” She asked with a wide smile. As I thought about her request, I saw no reason for me to refuse her. “By all means, feel free to do so. And if you need any help with your luggage, feel free to ask.”
“My name is Bond. James Bond. Just kidding, it’s James Hawthorne.”

Abbey only had one trunk, but it was heavy, really heavy, so she probably should have asked for help getting the heavy old thing onto the shelf in front of her. “Thanks, but It’s fine, I can do it myself.” she said with a polite smile as she began dragging the trunk into the compartment. She closed the door behind her when the whole thing was inside and right after that began pushing the trunk again further into the compartment. When it was right in front of her seat she looked down at it with a tired and frustrated look on her face. She stood there in silence looking down at the trunk for a while before she admitted. “Or maybe I do need a little help…” she turned to the boy hoping it wasn’t to late for him to want too help her. Before she began speaking she pointed up at the shelf over her seat. “it’s a bit heavy, I don’t think I can manage to get it up on that shelf all by myself.” she continued, explaining what she needed help with. She didn’t really want to bother the boy with her problems, but sitting in a small compartment with a big trunk taking all her legroom for the rest of the train ride wasn’t something she wanted either.

Unlike those two, who did think far ahead. This poor boy has gotten his head lost in the clouds once more and managed to catch the train mere seconds before it had left.He had given his parents a farewell hug and few kisses as he rush through the walls towards 9 and three quarters, from his parents perspective- this is such a worrying thing to watch.
SPEECH MENTION WORDCOUNT DATE #008080 @James Hawthorne - @Abbey Thompson 257 1st September, 2024
But the boy has rushed in with no hesitance at all, despite his brother attempting a few times to try and convince him that he has been scammed and trolled, it really did turn out that this Diagon Alley was real, and so was magic, much to his excitement!
He was left breathless as he practically crashes through the train doors, breathing heavily as he adjusts his glasses that had slid off the front of his face.A few compartment doors did open to see what is going on, though he either didn't see them or paid them no mind. Instead, he simply wipes his forehead to continue the train aisle.
Well there is pros and cons for coming this awfully late, the pros is he sure did get attention, cons would be the majority of seats were taken, after knocking on what felt like the 52nd door before sliding it open, he notice that finally, one compartment perhaps has space for a few more.
"Hi there! I'm Gates, you got space for one more?" He seems oblivious to the fact the girl is trying to fit her trunk on the railings.

Abbey turned to look at the boy when he slid the compartment door open. “What! I wasn’t the only one that hadn’t found a compartment!” she thought while looking the boy up and down. She knew that her reason for looking for a compartment this late was definitely or most likely different than the boys reason, but she was still shocked to se another student still not seated. "Hi there! I'm Gates, you got space for one more?" The boy asked looking at abbey and James. The boy had short brown hair and freckles. He seemed nice and Abbey didn’t see any problems with him joining her and James compartment “Gates? What an interesting name.” Abbey was standing there awkwardly thinking to herself. She glanced over at James before she looked back at the boy to answer him. “Space for two more actually!” Abbey took a few steps closer to the boy and reached out her hand for him to shake it, after she had answered his question. “I’m Abbey. Abbey Thompson!” She smiled friendly at the boy. She just assumed his name was Gates, not knowing his first name really was Curtis. “Nice to meet you Gates” She then took her hand away and stepped further into the compartment so that Gates could take a seat.

Finding a new empty seat
"Wait, wait, why—"
Before Novalie could finish her sentence, she found herself unceremoniously shoved out of the compartment. Her belongings quickly followed, tossed into the narrow passageway with a flurry of motion.
"Don't come back!"
The door to the compartment slammed shut with a finality that left Novalie standing there, stunned. Her eyes were wide, her mouth slightly open in disbelief. She couldn't fathom why they had pushed her out- she had just been asking questions! Okay, maybe she had asked a lot of questions. Perhaps she had gotten ... a little bit too nosy and too personal here and there. And maybe, just maybe, she had somehow managed to insult one of the girls- but it wasn't on purpose!
With a heavy sigh, Novalie looked around, the reality of her situation sinking in.
Well, whatever! She’d just find another seat. She knocked on each compartment door as she moved down the passage, peering inside with hopeful eyes. But with each attempt, her hope dwindled; every compartment was already full. Embarrassment warmed her cheeks as she stood alone in the passage, feeling the weight of her rejection. But this wasn’t the worst she’d faced- she could manage.
Resigned, Novalie dropped onto her suitcase, letting out a frustrated breath. Her mind started to race with ideas for pranks to get back at those girls, a mischievous smile creeping onto her face. Just as she was planning her next move, a faint voice broke through her thoughts.
"Hi there! I'm Gates. Got space for one more?"
Novalie quickly turned her head and saw a boy standing in front of a compartment door. Relief washed over her as she realized she wasn’t the only one searching for a seat. She grabbed her belongings and rushed towards him, her spirits lifting at the prospect of not being alone.
As she neared, she heard another voice from inside the compartment.
"Space for two more, actually!"
Novalie’s green eyes sparkled with excitement, and she came to a sudden halt just outside the compartment. She glanced at the boy, then at the girl inside, and flashed her best angelic smile.
"Two more, I heard? Would you mind if I join? I'm Nova, by the way."
Her voice was hopeful, her earlier embarrassment already fading away as she sensed the possibility of new friendships.

Abbey was now standing next to her big heavy trunk a little further into the compartment. She could hear footsteps outside of the compartment getting closer and closer. A girl with long red hair suddenly appeared behind Gates who was standing by the compartment door. She smiled at the girl that suddenly showed up. “Another one who’s not seated?” she was kind shocked again, but didn’t show it. she didn’t understand why there would still be students that hadn’t found a compartment and a seat for themselves. "Two more, I heard? Would you mind if I join? I'm Nova, by the way." the girl asked with hope in her voice and eyes. “I don’t mind. I’m Abbey!” Abbey smiled again and waved her hand slightly at the girl since she couldn’t get close enough to reach her hand out for a handshake. She also didn’t usually do handshakes with people, but she wanted to be nice and friendly. But since she wasn’t used to it she didn’t find it awkward to wave a little instead.
Abbey took a seat by the window on the opposite side from where James was sitting. James was sitting on the seat closest to the compartment door. She pushed her trunk under her seat so it wouldn’t take all the space. “Take a seat.” she said looking at Nova first and then the boy. Both of them looked like nice people that she wanted to become friends with.

"Oh! Great!" The boy beams, finally, a seat! He notices the hand, and happily reaches out to shake it. Woah a hand shake!

"Nice to meet ya too Thompson!" He shakes her hand vigorously, though he barely had time to seat himself until another girl appeared by the doorway. Wow, he's not the only one who's late! His expression shifted to one of 'woah' as the newer girl introduces herself.
"Woah! Cool name! You're like a galaxy or somethin' righ?" He had also by this point shuffled in to the other side closest to the window, he also has a big suitcase- which he is now using as a table by his feet. His arm crosses as he leans on the suitcase, he is practically bouncing up and down with energy. His glasses slides crooked off his nose in which he hurriedly corrects it.
"That's cool! Imagine if I was called like, Solar! Yeah that's a sick name that is!" He laughs.
"Wow that's the only star system I know." He was a little bit off about the galaxy thing, regardless, he said it with upmost confidence.
"Are you guys excited for school? This is my first time! I never been to Hogwarts, have you guys? What is it like?" He didn't have the chance to sit down and talk to other students yet, and now is such a perfect time.

Finding a new empty seat
As Jerry walked down the train, he became more and more worried about finding a seat. He couldn't go to Hogwarts without a friend! What has his mum always said? Sweets help you make friends, yes that was exactly was his mum had said, he was so getting sweets when the trolley came around. He stopped at a compartment where he heard "I'm going to be in Slytherin! I hate filthy Mudbloods" not wanting to be associated with scum who hated on Muggleborns he wrinkled his nose and moved on. He stopped to another compartment where he opened the door and found nobody inside. Sighing, he moved on as he started to think that he would never find a friend at Hogwarts. And then he he heard an excited voice say "This is my first time! I never been to Hogwarts, have you guys? What is it like?" He threw open the door and found 4 people sitting down, with surprised expressions and said to the boy who had spoken, "It's the most amazing place on Earth! There's the Great Hall, the common rooms! What House would you like to be in? I'm going to be in Gryffindor! Mind if I squeeze in?"

Finding a new empty seat
The girl introduced herself as Abbey and invited Novalie to take a seat.
"Thanks!", Novalie replied, feeling a bit excited as she attempted to stuff her belongings into the compartment. The train's rumble beneath her feet added a sense of adventure to it!
Gates had already managed to settle in and, without hesitation, began talking, "You're like a galaxy or somethin', righ?"
Novalie paused, her hand hovering over her bag, and glanced at the boy with glasses, a puzzled look crossing her face.
Did he just say she was like a galaxy?
That was... a rather unique compliment. The words brought a flicker of warmth to her cheeks. She blinked a few times, unsure how to respond, but as he continued about how cool it would be to be named Solar, the pieces began to fall into place.
"Solar? Like the Solar System?", she asked with a slightly tilted head.
Was her name somehow connected to the stars? Novalie had never given it much thought- stargazing had, just like books about it, never captivated her. She was more drawn to the adventures close to home, the ones that made her heart race and her eyes widen, even if they weren't as vast or mysterious as the night sky. Also, her mother had always told her that her name had something to do with catching butterflies, but this new interpretation made her feel a little more... cosmic. She wondered if Hogwarts would teach them about stars ...
She shrugged it off with a light laugh, finally managing to take a seat beside Abbey. The comfort of being among new students, coupled with the gentle sway of the train, brought a playful grin to her face. "Yeah, Solar sounds epic!"
Just as Novalie was about to respond to Gates about being new to Hogwarts too, the compartment door slid open with a soft creak, and another boy with glasses appeared.
"Mind if I squeeze in?", he asked.
Novalie noticed that there was just enough space for one more if everyone shuffled a bit closer together, but the scattered luggage from almost everyone was blocking the way.
"Sure, I mean, why not? Uh...", Novalie hesitated, glancing around at the crowded space.
She stood up and grabbed her belongings, looking up at the shelf with a slight frown.
"You'd need to help us with that though or you won't be able to get in." she added, her tone light and friendly.
Why were the shelfs so high up anyway?
