So much to choose from!
"Looks like the joke shop is doing alright." Mairead's dad, Juniper, commented as they passed on their way to Flourish and Blott's. Mairead had always wanted to go inside, but the shop was often busy, and today they had a lot of ground to cover to get her school supplies. Still, the back to school themed window display held her attention and, not for the first time, made her wish she was brave enough to overcome her anxiety. Just thinking about having to navigate the crowd of shoppers made her tired, but her mum spoke up before she could talk herself out of asking if they could go in, even just for a couple of minutes.
"Do you want to split up, meet us at the bookstore?" Erin asked her husband. She nodded to her daughter, still distracted by the various products in the window.
"Sure. Mayday?" Juniper asked, getting Mairead's attention.
"Oh! Um, sure. I guess. If that's ok?" She asked, but her mum had already started walking to the bookstore and her dad just chuckled and opened the door.
Once inside, the sheer variety of colors and smells and sounds were enough to make her head spin, but a wall of fluffy creatures quickly caught her eye.

Being here for the first time was new, especially since I was alone and my mother was somewhere in Diagon Alley, probably talking to someone at the pastry shop. I looked at the small pygmy puffs were walking/rolling and squeaking while she looked at one, debating whether she should get one. They are cute and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get one, but they also require some management and I do not have that time in my day between dance and school and helping at the bakery. I probably shouldn't since that would probably be a wise decision. I then decided against it and continued to look at the fluffy purple and pink pygmy puffs. 2 of them played with each other, both purple, so it was kind of just a flurry of purple fur.
Her mother then walked in, looked around and walked over to her. Cute little things, aren't they? Lila has one, cute little purple one. She named it Heroine, sneaky little thing and it roams the floors most times. Hard not to step on it whenever you're walking. My mom, Maia Elren, said. I have to go help Lila while she's helping here and help her bake in the back of her small stand. When you're done meet me here, alright? My mom said. "Alright, see you soon." I said as she walked out and I continued to watch the little furballs play.

Mairead jumped slightly as the other girl appeared at the pygmy puff display. The two purple puffs that had begun to play continued on, ignoring the audience they had attracted for the time being. She focused on the wound up little things, so as not to accidentally eavesdrop on the conversation between the other girl and what appeared to be her mother. The girl seemed to be around her age, and she knew her dad would have encouraged her to start a conversation if he wasn't preoccupied with a shelf of bright purple cartons.
I wonder if she's going to Hogwarts too, in September.
"H-hi, um. Are you getting your school supplies too?" She asked. A pygmy puff, bright pink, chose that moment to wander over and push it's head against the bars of the enclosure, all but demanding attention. Grateful for the excuse to do something with her hands, Mairead gently ran her finger over the top of its head.
Wait-is it purring?
She briefly wondered if she'd be able to bring one to Hogwarts, but remembered she had a collection of house plants that might not be safe for the little puff if it got into them. So better safe than sorry, then. She still had birthday money to spend, though, but the little puffs were entertaining in their own right.

H-hi, um. Are you getting your school supplies too? A girl asked me. "Oh, yes, actually! I'm Holly, what's your name?" I asked, speaking sort of fast. Crap, what if I came off too energetic, or startled her? Well, I'll never know till she responds I suppose. I think, my brain now going into concerned mode. Naturally, back at my normal school, my friend group was the only people I talked to, and we all were energetic and sort of fast at talking, so I just ended up doing just that... Then again, we all were pretty much known as very different from each other, Luna being the more confident stereotype, Ella being the mathematic expert, me being the quiet yet smart type (except with the other three, of course), and Kayla being the person who, if you tick her off, almost fights you but stops herself at the perfect time because she would most likely get suspended or just in-school detention, which sucks too. Then again, we go to a school where there is no magic and if you injure yourself the nurse tells you to put ice on it and go back to class.
Sorry I haven't been replying, been learning dances and that's been taking up a lot of time.
