Interacting with: @Mamori Anezaki
Word count: 200After shopping for school supplies for her very first year in Hogwarts, Corvinus had just enough to buy her own wants— She just didn't know what she wanted.
'Perhaps a pet would be nice,' Her inner voice said, but the thought was quickly shattered when she came and saw how much pets actually cost.
'Some ice cream?' Her inner voice suggested, but when she bought herself a berry delight, she was left with one more galleon and a few sickles.
She wandered about, until she eventually reached the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Inside, she was met with an instant aura of excitement emitted from the different witches and wizards. She's never actually been inside this particular establishment, her nanny wasn't fond of the chaotic thrive the interior gave out.
She checked out every shelf, each full of many interesting trinkets. Dung bombs, exploding snaps, U-no Poo, and a.. Skiving Snackbox?
Its appearance had certainly caught her eye. She leaned down, giving it a better look. From the red box to the silky red ribbon, its packaging made her feel a sense of newfound intrigue. She was about to check out its description when suddenly, she felt a humanly presence behind her.

Walking around Diagon Alley, Mamori felt an exciting rush as he took in the unfamiliar yet wonderfully atmospheric surroundings. His virgin visit here left him truly spellbound by what his eyes and ears feasted on for the very first time. His father had been kind enough to help him pick out all the school supplies on his list patiently, but he wasn't in a hurry to leave yetᅳ it wasn't even sundown!
Mamori's father finally gave in to his son's pleas, swayed by the boy's clever banter and persuasive charm. Mamori had argued that a few "trendy items" would assist him in fitting in better at Hogwarts. His father played along with mock hesitation before eventually agreeing and leaving Mamori at Sugarplum's Sweets Shop; he assured his return in thirty minutes after picking up his own items at Rosa Lee Teabag, as if struck by an unspoken agreement between them.
Mamori's plans, however, were different. He discovered himself attracted irresistibly to a few sweets and then Weasley's Wizard Wheezesᅳ the renowned joke shop. He had heard a lot about it and was eager to see what marvels were contained within.
The moment his steps inside the shop, a wave of liveliness engulfed him. Laughter, bursting firecrackers, conversations full of life surrounded him ᅳ an atmosphere that would not let him be gloomy. An interest sparked in Mamori's eyes, as he strolled down the aisles entranced by myriad magical tricks and devices unveiled before him. As he turn to another corner, he saw a girlᅳ probably around his age ᅳ who seemed captivated by something in front of her.
Mamori noticed the strength of her concentrated look. Quietly, he stepped towards her wondering what it was that captured her attention so completely. When he reached right behind the girl, she almost seemed to feel his existence and swiveled around to face him.
"Hey there," Mamori greeted her with a friendly smile. "Looks like you're interested in this too, huh?" He leaned in closer to read the product tag. "Oh, a Skiving Snackbox... interesting!"
He repositioned himself, standing upright before addressing her once more: "I'm sorry if I'm interrupting your shopping. I realize l probably look weird standing around and gawking at things for so long, hehe." A light chuckle slipped out as he raked his fingers through his messy hair, glancing around the unfamiliar store. "This place is new to me, so im trying to get a feel of everything." Another soft chuckle followed, appearing casual and amiable. "Do you come here often? Any inside scoop on what's cool?"

Word count: 215'An inside scoop of what's cool... What does he mean by scoop, ice cream?' Corvinus thought to herself, finding it quite peculiar. She had spent most of her childhood indoors with little to no interaction with muggles— unless it was for school— and wasn't very sociable to witches and wizards either.
Thinking back to her childhood, Corvinus sought out all the lessons and memories she had learned, trying to bring pieces together and figure something out. Inside scoop of what's cool? Ice cream is cool and cold, right? And scoop, he must be referring to ice cream!
Shaking her head, Corvinus finally looked back at the stranger. She smiled back, which only looked threatening from the outside despite her lack of any actual malicious intent. She scrutinized this stranger's appearance, her eyes darting from his current clothes, to his messy pink hair.
Corvinus' eyes gleamed with interest, mixed with some sort of adoration for his particular hair color of choice.
'Majestic.'
"...."
Her eyes went wide, realizing just how much time she had spent in silence, she inwardly cringed, clearing her throat.
"No, it's my first time here, actually— and no, I don't have any ice cream."
'That's right, Corviee... You're doing good..'
"Are you also going to Hogwarts? My name is Corvinus. Corvinus Schröder."

Mamori blinked in confusion when he heard the mention of ice cream ᅳ it was a few seconds later that he realized Corvinus had likely misinterpreted his use of the word "scoop." He made a mental note to himself that he should probably change the way he spoke so as not to have such mix-ups.
Chuckling a little, Mamori shook his head. “Oh, sorry about that. I didn't mean ice cream. By 'inside scoop,' I just meant any tips or advice about what's popular around here.” Smiling warmly at her in order to make her feel comfortable. "I'm Mamori, by the way. Mamori Anezaki. It might be a bit hard to pronounceᅳI'm half Japanese. Nice to meet you, Corvinus."
His eyes scanned the area and found the girl standing alone; it seemed she was on a solo shopping expedition lugging her trunk without any assistance which struck him as odd. Usually children their age were accompanied by adults who would help carry their belongings. Mamori, for instance, had his father carrying all his stuff for him; not the case here it seemed.
"You're here Alone? I see you handling your trunk all by yourself." He points at her belonging, then returning his gaze to her, voice laced with curiosity. "You seem to know your way around Diagon Alley if your parents trust you to wander here on your own. That's why I thought this isn't your first visit." A moment of silence as he scans her face. "Are you also heading to Hogwarts as a first-year? People don't usually lug trunks around for light shopping ᅳ guessed you might be a new student getting supplies."

Word Count: 232"Oh, yes! I am here to buy supplies." Corvinus jerks her trunk up, readjusting it to a height she felt comfier in.
"My nan— aunt, often brought me here whenever she went to buy things she needed for the household, hence why Diagon Alley isn't very new to me." She looks around the store, her eyes taking in the wondrous magical surroundings before turning to Mamori again. Like Corvinus, he also doesn't seem to be accompanied by an adult.
Though she knew it's not something she should pry on.. She couldn't help but feel curious and ask.
"And you? Why are you all alone? I'd assume your parents wouldn't just let you roam around a foreign and crowded area like here, unless you're already familiar."
Corvinus glances back up at Mamori's hair, holding her own chin with her hand in thought. She's never seen anyone with pink hair. Do Japanese people genetically just have pink hair?
She shakes her head, of course not! But then again its color reminds her of candy floss, she loves candy floss. She has been staring at his hair for a while. She looks like she's glaring at it, some others may perceive it as weird, but she really just is curious.
"And your hair.. It's really cool. I'm kinda jealous. It's not every day you find someone with such a pretty color. Did you do it yourself?"

When Mamori was told by Corvinus that she is a first-year student, he felt a great sense of prideᅳ his assumption had indeed hit the mark. While she spoke, he observed her closely and could see the timidity in her eyes which matched well with her awkward gestures. It reminded him of those small cautious magical creatures that he often saw at his father's workplace. However, there was a strange contradiction to her shynessᅳ she appeared approachable and easy to get along with.
"That's good news; I am sure it makes your shopping easier," Mamori replied warmly, adjusting his posture as he leaned against a shelf filled with Fanged Frisbees."I came with my dad, but he left me here at Sugarplum's Sweets Shop and went for some tea leaves at Rosa Lee Teabag, and i manage to snuck out for something far more thrilling."
He reacted with visible delight at Corvinus's remark regarding his hair. "Oh, my hair?" he began, a smile playing on his lips as he recalled the origins of his vibrant pink locks. "I actually used a Hair-Dyeing Potion that my mother gifted me three months ago on my birthday." His fingers weaved through the untamed strands, the hue standing out vividly under the soft glow of enchanted lights within the shop. "It's an exclusive blend ᅳ white and pink streeler shells. I call it the color of sakura." A pause was followed by a look of contentment crossing his face; "I only recently discovered how to dye it properly from a friend weeks ago. I'm glad you like it!"
In the background, young wizards were having fun while playing with Nosebleed Nougat ᅳ an area filled with laughter as he spoke. The atmosphere was permeated by exotic magical confections and a buzz of lively conversations; Mamori was reminded that this was his place, bringing him back to what he came here for.
"The right place for a young wizard's adventuresᅳ what do you think? Did you find anything intersting?" He gestured towards the Skiving Snackboxᅳ an item that piqued Corvinus' curiosity. “I saw you were focusing your attention on the Skiving Snackbox.”
Mamori waited for his reply as he absentmindedly took a Puking Pastille from the Skiving Snackbox, studying it with interest.

Word Count: 210Corvinus tilted her head to the side, looking a little more concerned; not for Mamori, but for his poor father. "The sweets shop? Wouldn't your father be worried sick if he were to find out you aren't where he left you?"
Diagon alley is huge, not to mention the amount of people crammed up here specially before the start of the school year. Not even she would dare to leave her nanny's side, let alone when they're shopping together.
Seeing how enthusiastic Mamori was while talking about his hair, she couldn't help but give him an approving nod, a small smile taking shape on her lips.
At the mention of the Skiving Snackbox, Corvinus turned back to it, scanning the many boxes. Carefully, she wrapped the delicate silk of one of the box's ribbon on her index finger, twirling it around.
"At first, I did find it interesting." Corvinus spoke, continuing to fidget with the box's ribbon. "But I did come to realize that it serves no purpose to me. Using such consumables to avoid responsibility.. Pointless."
"And you? Why did you come to me in particular? Or was it the boxes that lured you in?" She let the silk fall off her finger, her focus now trained on him.

Mamori took the Puking Pastille into his hand and mulled it over. "My dad won't even notice as long as I'm back within thirty minutes." He said, grinning at Corvinus with a mischievous glint in his eye. "We can't be too rigid about these things, right? If I weren't the type to sneak out, I never would've been able to meet you!"
As he turned the puking pastille over in his fingers, Mamori realized that these sweets were designed to make the consumer ill. He watched as Corvinus tilted her head slightly and mentioned that she had initially found the Skiving Snackbox intriguing but then decided it was pointless. To use eatables for escaping duties did not strike her right.
She's got a point: they do seem like a way to shirk responsibilities. But there could be other uses, he mused. Maybe to get out of a sticky situation or help someone who really needs a quick escape.
"You know, " Mamori said after a pause,"Sometimes it's good to think outside the box," he said, thinkingfully turning the Puking Pastille over in his long fingers. "Might seems pointless to some, but it could be helpful in ways not obvious. I'll pick this one up, anyway."
After Corvinus asked about his intentions, Mamori shifted his attention back to her and gave a quick playful wink. "Honestly, a bit of both," he said. "Those boxes did catch my eye, but when I saw you I thought it'd be nice to say hello." He paused, watching her reaction. "Meeting a fellow first-year before school starts is always a good idea. I was also curious about what had captured your interest so completely."
He looked around the store, noticing all the groups of kids with their mothers. "And by the way, I couldn't help but notice that you're the only person here who's shopping alone. It is easier to approach someone when he or she is alone than when in a group. That's something I've learned from my own experience, hehe."
OOC note: sorry for the late rp reply i’ve been super busy with exams this week. i promise i'll speed up my responses once i’m done with them!

Interacting with: @Mamori Anezakiooc: Heyyaa, sorry for the delay too! I've been sick all week and I've got exams soon!Think outside the box!? The audacity this guy has! It's embarrassing now.. I was really trying to look cool and mysterious... Like an adult!
Corvinus huffs in annoyance, crossing her arms and turning her body 180 degrees, facing the Puking Pastilles yet again. Her cheeks are tinted a little pink, eyebrows furrowed in irritation? No— embarrassment. "I'll think inside the box all I want!" She grumbled, quickly realizing how weird that sounded.
Corvinus groaned, face palming as she turned 180 degrees more to face him. "Sorry, sorry. I was just feeling a little pissed. It's just so loud in here." She excused, not wanting to be perceived as a more childish person because of that. It is loud, considering all the people and all the products going on in the shop but.. it wasn't really the biggest factor. She really was just embarrassed.
As the topic switches, Corvinus' expression quickly does too. She smiles yet again, nodding as she listened.
"Oh, yeah! That's absolutely true. It always feels so intimidating when they're in groups! Since you have already approached me, it'd be a shame not to befriend you before the school year starts. You wanna be my bestie, Mamori? Bestie means best friend, I think. I heard the word from a group of muggles I passed by back in my old school."
Sorry if these feel wonky, really rushing these in under an hour cus no time management smh smh
You can take up as much time as you want, it's only fair cus I take quite a while to reply too!
Wishing u luck, hope ur scores come in one piece!!

Corvinus's reaction made Mamori chuckle softly. Obviously, the cool and mysterious act had gone wrong, making her all the more adorable. He saw the faint pink hue on her cheeks and the way she now crossed her arms in annoyance; it struck him as rather funny how hastily she was trying to resume being embarrassed about something.
"Hey, no worries," said with a smile Mamori, waving his hand in an airy, understanding way. "Thinking inside the box can be just as valuable as thinking outside of it. Besides, everyone needs their own way of doing things." With that wink across to her to try and lighten her blushes.
His grin widened when Corvinus cheered up at the making friends comment. Her offer to be “besties” was unwittingly perfect in its timing. "Bestie, huh? I like the sound of that!" It was his honest answer. "I'd be honored to be your best friend, Corvinus."
Mamori decided to buy two Puking Pastilles, paid for them, and handed one to Corvinus before slipping the other into his pocket. Then he motioned toward the door of the store. “So it is official — we are besties from now on! We'll stick together at Hogwarts, explore all the secret passageways, and maybe even get into a bit of harmless trouble."
As he held out his hand, an idea struck him. "Say, how about this? We keep in touch for the rest of the summer. We can be pen pals; we'll send each other letters through owls sharing things like hobbies and what we're excited about for Hogwarts. Then come time we can meet at Platform 9¾ and maybe ride in on the same compartment. Sound good?"
OOC note: no worries at all! hope u’re feeling better now and good luck with your exams! focus on what you need to — i'm cheering you on! u got this!![]()
