A Feast Made For Bonding
Summer Camp 2024. Evening, dinner.

Despite his positive attitude and approach with how well he had done on his own so far, he was still standing alone with a plate in his hand, watching the busy groups before him. Some were seated on tables, scoffing their faces and laughing with a mouth full of food. Others were sat on blankets, eat rather sensible in comaprrsion to the ones he set his eyes on previously.
A part of him was hesitant on whether or not to join that group, but he decided against it in the end, wondering how he would eat his meal on the ground without causing a mess.
His fingers gripped at the edges of his plate whilst his eyes searched the tables, hoping to find a more tidier and quieter spot which wouldn’t involve any animal-like peers being seated beside him. After a minute or so of walking and searching like a hawk, he spotted a table in the distance which held a few students who probably had the same idea as him, seeing as they were all in groups no larger that two.
“Excuse me..” He spoke softly, almost timidly now that he had approach the table, beside a girl who seemed to be a few years older than him. He wore a small smile as he awaited for her response, or acknowledgement at the very least. “Can I.. sit here, please? Everywhere else is… uhm..” He set his plate down beside her own and sat himself on the edge, but no enough to get comfortable in case she asked him to leave. His eyes would linger over at the mayhem down at the other end of the table, hoping his brief nod of the head in their direction was enough to finsih off his sentence in why he was here and not there. “I’m Renzo Russo by the way..” He added quickly and let his smile widen a little more. He had introduced himself a few times this week already and he noticed the more he was doing it, the easier it was, and felt less forced.

Renzo was slowly starting to settle into the routine of things now. A week with his camp mates and adjusting to the layout of the Quidditch Stadium helped put him at ease. This was a big change for him. He always had his father or mother to stand beside if anything went wrong, or his big brother to stick up for him when someone was to pick or talk down to him. But now it was just him. He had to find his own way, make some mistakes to learn the good from the bad.. which unbeknown to him included trusting in the wrong people. But that was life and one of the best ways to learn lessons in the long run, even if they are painful at the time.

A Feast Made For Bonding
━━━━━━━ ♔ ━━━━━━━━
It was a week into summer camp and everything was still (in her very humble opinion) rather unevenful. The fourth year had arrived late to the campfire/scary story telling event to days into camp, snagged a couple marshmllows, hung around for three quarters of some kid's story, and left. Two days after that, she didn't even bother to go check out the broom sledding thing; she just wasn't feeling it. Guin knew that she should probably live a little more and enjoy her camp days, so the next few days were spent hanging around camp and spectating whatever summer matches and games were going on: a few duels, some quidditch games, all between the foreign schools. On this day in particular, Guin was watching a broom racing match, and when it was done she walked back to the center of the stadium to grab food. The food was just as delicious as the food back at Hogwarts, if not even more so. And Hogwarts food was hard to top. The main thing was the variety. After a while of walking, she found a vendor selling Asian street foods. A line was forming, which wasn't surprising. When her turn finally rolled around, she placed an order for a Chinese rou jia mo, a couple la tiao, and an iced chai latte. She paid with a couple of coins from her pocket, and took the hot steamy food to an empty table near the back of the stadium.
Guin ate in silence for a few minutes, and was almost finished with her rou jia mo when a boy she didn't recognize walked up to her and asked to sit. Very politely. So Guin agreed. "Sure, why not?" She said, scooching a bit so that he could sit. He introduced himself as Renzo, but Guin was unable to really discern which school he was from. "I'm Guinevere Russetwood," Guin said, smiling back. "Fourth year Slytherin at Hogwarts. What about you?"

His gaze then shifted up quickly to the girl once more who was now introducing herself.
“Guinevere..” He mumbled to himself beneath his breath, in hopes he would remember it. His brow quickly twitched and raised along with the other when she mentioned her house however. “Slytherin?” He repeated with a heightened tone, likely a mixture of shock and excitement. While he had heard a lot of people give Slytherin a bad rep, Renzo admired a lot of witches and wizards that had come from that house, his brother being one before his transfer. “Oh, I haven’t been selected for a house yet, but I will be in September. I hope I get Ravenclaw.. or Slytherin!” His voice had changed from its once shy and timid-like tone to an enthusiastic one.
He was wearing is usual smug-ish smile now as if he was about to cause some trouble, but he was actually more curious about the girl. She was a fourth-year, which to him was cool. His inner child wanted to ask all sorts of questions. What magic she could perform, what school was like… was it dangerous, scary or fun? His nose scrunched as the questions rumbled through his brain and he shuffled himself closer to her.
“What’s.. Hogwarts like?” Going with the more bland question, which in his eyes was a less annoying approach, he’d rest his elbows on the table and his chin in one of the palm of his hands. “My brother got into all sorts of trouble when he was at school… but he’s an auror now.” He gave her another smile, hoping his small chatter wasn’t annoying her once peaceful dinner.
Renzo shuffled his way across the bench after he got the all clear from the older girl. For a moment, his eyes lingered on the half eaten bowl of food in front of her. It had been enough to make his own stomach rumble and remind him that he needed to eat. He grabbed ahold of a chip and took a bite.

A Feast Made For Bonding
━━━━━━━ ♔ ━━━━━━━━
Sometimes Guin wondered if she had wasted much of her time at school. When she looked around at camp, she often saw younger students huddling in bunches, talking about whatever. She didn't remember making many friends in her first year, which was weird because she didn't really remember anything from her first year at all. Which was also weird because she couldn't have spent an entire school year simply existing, right? Anyways.
She noticed Renzo's brow raise when she stated her year and house. Which was he skeptical about? She didn't think she looked far from her age, so she supposed it must be the latter. She knew her house had an off reputation, but as the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it- it wasn't like it bothered her or anything.
Renzo said he hoped for Ravenclaw or Slytherin. "Ooh, good choice. Maybe I'll see you next year. As a Slytherin obviously." She grinned. She didn't have too much against the bird house- one friend she was close with last year was one. Speaking of Sof- where was she now? Guin didn't see her around as much.
"I think Hogwarts is pretty great," she said. "I mean, I can't really compare it to anywhere else because I haven't studied anywhere else, but I like it here. Do you do a sport? You should join a sport, it really helps with getting to know housemates and other students around school." Then Renzo talked about his brother getting into a lot of trouble. That sparked her interest. These days, she never really knew what was going on drama-wise around school.
"Really? Who's you brother? Mine might know him- he's a sixth year next year. Slytherin as well." The chances of them knowing each other were slim, since the boy said his brother already graduated. But Will always talked about being really close with the upperclassmen on his sports team, so it wasn't that much of a stretch.
